Low key evening here with my friends for my birthday. We had a great time. Food, drinks, atmosphere, service were all A+.
Went for Sunday brunch. The service was good at first when we were the only table, but as more people sat, it seemed like there was one employee serving all the tables and tending the bar at the same time. He seemed to be handling it well enough under the circumstances and stayed friendly.
They were out of my first choice order, they were out of what I ordered next, and then out of the jam when I ordered the brioche. It was almost funny.
My food was alright, just that everything was dry.
Overall probably won’t return for brunch- pretty small menu even if they weren’t out of everything. I’d try again for dinner though.
There was a little chill in the air, despite reservations, they placed us right by door, every time waiters went outside, they left open causing my girlfriend to cringe! Every thing on menu sounds great but they’re out of shrimp. Food was tasteful, service was novice, they were definitely rushing and nervous, but made effort. Still had a good time.
After making a reservation a week in advance, we were offered a table either in the doorway up against the hostess podium, a small round table with one side seating near the bar aisle or a table outside in the covered patio area. While the cheese board was good, the bread was not fully cut and by the time the knife came we were nearly finished. The waiter mixed up the steaks (their most expensive item) and was unsure of how each of us had ordered. We had to switch food after checking the steak ourselves. The food quality, taste, presentation and environment was not representative of the price. The outdoor seating was essentially a tarp covered patio with a fireplace video on a big screen television (which buffered at times) and two heaters in the corners emitting a red light over the entire area with some places much warmer than others. After seeing other guests vacate their table, we decided to move closer to the heaters. Overall a disappointing experience for the price point and the reservation planned well in advance.
Absolutely lovely early lunch/late brunch. Normally it's crowded here, but it was a cold rainy day, so it was blissfully quiet.
The lamb burger was nicely done, very juicy. Goose fat fries sounded interesting, but ended up not at all crispy, just a bit greasy. The thai chicken salad sounded promising on paper, but was essentially flavorless with the banana pepper adding the only bit of zest to a boring salad. Lunch menu was a bit limited. Might be better at dinner.
Decent enough drinks but the food quality needs improvement.
We didn’t love the food but the service was terrific and the ambience was great.
We enjoyed the potato soup, charcuterie board and the oysters & brie, along with steak bruschetta... service was great, and a lovely setting! Hope to return!!
My wife and I went to Chais Delachaise on our date night. The atmosphere was very nice but the food was very bland. Neither one of us liked our food. However, it was our date night and we were tired after going to a concert. So we didn’t want to go through the hassle of having new meals prepared for us. A couple of days later this restaurant charged us an additional $10. We immediately complained to the manager and contacted our bank of the matter. No we won’t be going back there to dine and NO we do not recommend bland food to no one. We did get our $10 back as well.
You can’t wrong with eating and or drinking at the Chaise Delachaise or The Delachaise wine bar. The food is outstanding and the service is local and cool.
Nothing that great about it. Nice place but food and drinks didn’t wow me
Came here for an intimate dinner for my birthday and it was perfect as usual. Always a pleasure.
Too expensive for the quality.
Amazing fries and best wine deal in town. Lunch was empty.
Excellent and attentive wait staff! Fun atmosphere
Seven friends for dinner. All were very satisfied with their meals. I had the Chicken Toulouse which was excellent. Service was exceptional. Offered five wines for five dollars a glass, had the red and was quite surprised at the good quality. Two of our party are in the wine business and agreed. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I expected better food, from everything I heard. The wine list is quite good as were the cocktails. The ambiance was a little ratty. Better suited to the Marigny.. perfect for a student heavy area
This place has a great vibe, and the service was outstanding! Highly recommend.
Server recommended a delicious wine for our dinner and was incredibly polite and friendly.
It was great! Service was fantastic and food was delicious.
Great food and great staff!
Great service and the goose fat fries were on point. Octopus pretty delicious as well
Great meal, friendly service!
Great experience. Cool, modern, hip.... really a personal touch in the decor.... really good food! Nice staff too! First visit, but will certainly be back! Just charming!
I am a local but never had been to this restaurant. It was great. I had the chicken and it was terrific but even better was the service. They were attentive but not over the top - a nice find on Maple Street. I highly recommend!
The service was not good at all; I had to ask for my drink refill 3 times; the waitress was not attentive at all. this was my first time and maybe I'll give it a second try. Maybe.
We had Christmas Eve dinner. It was lovely. Staff was accommodating to the vegetarian in our group. He made suggestions that would meet his needs. Staff suggested a lovely after dinner brandy that was new to us and well appreciated.
We came during happy hour so we had an example of their house wine and it was very good.
The food was good and it will be fine for those who have a small appetite. Portions are small
Chais Delachaise is my new favorite restaurant in New Orleans. It’s just the perfect place. The food is wonderful, healthy, and prepared to perfection. The lightning is warm and welcoming. The music is audible, but not overwhelming. I have been there for an intimate dinner with one friend and just visited again with a large group, both situations were great at Chais Delachaise. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have to get there some day for their “Happy Hour”.
Amazing food and service! Lovely quaint spot! I little pricey but, so worth it! Our tastes buds were so happy!
A great thanksgiving meal!
Everything was top notch starting with the subtle, cucumber flavored water and the eclectic, casual atmosphere! Their shrimp romulaude, salmon and fried oysters were just perfect. It is a hidden gem that is worth many return visits.
wonderful food, service, & ambience.. Old fashion was fabulous! Make sure the front door closes on a cold evening!!
Loved our evening at Chais Delachaise. Warm and friendly, fun bistro atmosphere, and the food was great. Not terribly expensive for what you get. I had the special, filet mignon, and it was really good, but there's plenty of small plates too. We were celebrating a birthday and got the full treatment-- free dessert and singing!
They ran out of chicken, shrimp, and salmon before 8 pm. There was nothing on the menu for someone who doesn’t eat red meat.
Just what we wanted for a mid-week pre-concert early meal. We split an appetizer of grilled shrimp (5 to an order) and a dinner of the pan roasted chicken over mushrooms and ham/potato hash ($21) and added a side of roasted brussel sprouts ($8). Shrimp was very tasty, and the chicken dish was excellent, juicy inside and crispy skin outside with a terrific mushroom cream sauce. It's close to a platonic dish. Had the cheesecake for dessert, which was the only disappointment.
We made a late reservation but showed up earlier than expected. They were very accommodating and offered us seating in the bar. By the time our bottle of wine was served they were able to seat us at a table in the dinning area. Super friendly staff and not overbearing. The food was excellent and the portions were appropriate for the price. We definitely will go back and recommend to our friends.
Delightful spot with exception food. Highly recommend
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Very romantic and quiet. I absolutely loved the frites! I couldn't stop eating them. I had a very wonderful and creative appetizer. I did choose the steak for dinner and as I am from Texas the steak wasn't the best I've ever had but it was moist and very flavorful and the sauces were amazing as well. The chocolate cake was a bit rich for me but overall lovely. The chocolate espresso ice cream was wonderful and the perfect finishing touch on a lovely meal. Overall I really enjoyed myself and I am glad I made the trip! Thanks to a suggestion from my wedding photographer I had a memorable evening!
