Cerulean - Winona Lake Ratings and Reviews
The food is always great. Our server was on top of our drinks which is important to me. We ordered the lunch bento boxes and I am a big fan of the Asian Noodle Salad and the Brussle Sprouts. Both very good. While the brussle sprouts were not warm they were still very good. The Asian salad is a cold salad and is fantastic! I have never had a bad meal here.
Mason waited on us, after I had to call for directions and still couldn't find it in the dark, as we dined late on our way back from Chicago. Thank goodness the green Christmas tree was lit and a great "landmark". Mason was very nice, knowledgable, attentive, but not overly. My potatoes were cold and he treated us to little special dessert, which was a great touch!
We had the best filets!! -Mine on the bleu cheese smashed potatoes and my husband substituted for roasted potatoes. -medium rare, the steaks were butterflied (which normally I don't like) but the presentation was stunning and the steaks were soooo yummy. I know it's known as a sushi and fish place, but we will rave about those "beef tenderloins". Thanks for an enjoyable meal!! Only 2 complaints: 1. our table lacked lighting, which I didn't mind, but menus were printed small and husband couldn't read it especially without light. I loved being in a booth though, vs hard chairs. 2. Perhaps if Mason had asked sooner I would've had another glass of wine, but that's a minor point (but since my review name is Diva4wine, you get it.)
While I LOVE Cerulean and am a regular patron, I have had the same server the past two times I've dined over lunch and both times my service was pretty poor. We rarely saw the server and could not have done lunch in our one-hour lunch break. This has actually caused me to question whether or not to continue to make reservations here for anytime I actually need to be back in my office within an hour.
That said, the food was outstanding, as always.
One of the best meals our family has ever had. We started with a fantastic gnocchi starter and an excellent 5-cheese/charcuterie plate. For the entrees, I had a Wagyu beef special that was amazing. My wife and daughter also loved their barbecue lamb and pork porterhouse meals.
Service was great and prices were appropriate for the quality of the food -- our entrees were $28-$33
Fantastic meal and we'll be back
Best restaurant in Warsaw area for lunch. For this visit, food was very good, service was excellent. For improvement recommendations I would say change the music selection. We did like the chocolate treat that replaced the Andes mints. Bottom line is Cerulean is great for lunch.
We looked at the website for a plant-based menu. There were three acceptable choices. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was nothing like that on the menu. However, the staff tried to accommodate us with an adjustment in the standard fare. Also, the portion was so small that we came home, made hot tea, and made our healthy dessert of non-dairy "ice cream" and a plant-based banana-nut loaf to fill us until the breakfast next morning. For that, the price was considerably more than we are used to: $57 with gratuity. We won't be eating out much at that rate. We expect truth in advertising.
