Central, located in the heart of Montgomery’s Downtown entertainment district, is a true American restaurant highlighting local and seasonal ingredients. This locally owned gem offers wood-fired dishes in an 1890’s warehouse space boasting exposed brick, flickering gas lanterns and a bustling open kitchen. In the main dining room, 16 foot ceilings, spectacular overhead lighting, a central bar comprised of reclaimed wood all overlook Montgomery’s downtown alley.

Of the multiple times I've been there this wasn't the best. The main meal came out before the appetizer and the server wasn't setting that much. The times before the service was top notch. Maybe just a bad night.

Our waiter and my meal this time were not up to par. I ordered the pasta dish and there was barely any pasta in it. It was all meat and sauce. Not once did our waiter ask how we were enjoying our meal. He also did not offer us dessert or another beverage. This has been my worst experience with Central so far and I frequent the restaurant often. Really upsetting considering we were with another couple celebrating Valentine's Day. For this price, the service and food needs to be better. Our appetizer and salad was the best thing I had.

The evening could have gone so much better. First we were brought another tables food. Second I received my steak and it was not cooked properly. I asked for medium and it was rare. It was taken back and my husband finished his meal before my plate was returned. Third the steak when it returned was still not cooked correctly. We were given a dessert but we still paid for a "rare" steak. We were also almost charged for drinks we did not order. The dessert was very dry and gave me the impression that it was either made somewhere else and frozen before serving or old and reheated. I did speak with the manager but feel like we could have been compensated so much better. Out of three visits to Central I have only had one good meal there. For the amount you pay for eating there I expect much better service and food.
