Cellaio Steak By Scott Conant - Resorts World Catskills
The steaks were very good but, the chicken was cold and I had to send it back. So, the encouragement is only to order the steaks
Took my wife and two daughters for an evening dinner while we stayed at Resorts Casino. The steaks and side dishes we’re phenomenal and the price was not NYC.
The food was excellent no complaints but you would think that if you reserved via open table and not just walk in you’d get a better table but no we got a small table off the side and right next to a table with 2 extremely obnoxious customers. They were extremely loud and was bothersome to all of the surrounding customers and the manager does not do anything about it. We couldn’t tell whether they’re mentally handicapped or just plain inebriated. I wanna say that they are a high functioning mentally handicapped mother and daughter but it does not excuse them from shouting “f” bombs loud and just plain rude and ill mannered publicly. Im sure it made the other customers uncomfortable and their experience unpleasant because of those 2 uncontrolled customers.
Rated 4 stars because the menu item( lobster pasta) was sold out, ITS SCRUMPTIOUS and I was looking forward to having that for my second time....absolutely mouthwatering.
The Tagliatelle (bolognese&fontina) is another delectable dish.
I hope you enjoy as I did very much so.....Bon appetit!!!
Although the food was good, the atmosphere ruined the visit for me. The tables did not have tablecloths, the napkins looked like they belong in a bbq place along with wait staff's plastic aprons.
Not impressed at all, and my husband I summed it up as needing sophistication to meet the advertising and the pricing.
Tyler was our server. He was great and made the experience awesome!
I was a little disappointed in the pasta this time. Two weeks ago you gave me Fresh homemade pasta this week you gave me box spaghetti. Meatballs were served cold last time they were served nice and warm.
My husbands baked potato was a little dry this time also. Hopefully next time the food will be a little better. We will be returning!
We decided to go to Resorts World in the Catskills and was told if we went there to eat at Cellaio. There were six of us and between everything we ordered at least 1 person claimed that “this is the best I’ve ever had” with the side dish’s or there main dish. So all 6 of us claimed at least one thing at the table was the best they ever had, lol. That’s pretty high praise. Seth, the manager, came to the table and made us feel important multiple times. Great guy, great restaurant. Amazing experience. Highly recommend. Make sure you call in advance to get a table. Worth every penny.
It was wonderful from the Hostess, to our waiter, to the drinks, and food. We enjoyed our appetizers and knew at that point the meal would be spectacular. The presentation of the food was like nothing we have seen in the area. The taste was amazing. I highly recommend going there. I was very happy we did. I hope to be back very soon.
Went there with girlfriends for a girls night out. The food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be going back.
Amazing food in a beautiful atmosphere. My wife and I have been several times since they opened and every experience is better than the last!
Had a good experience, the service was good and the meal was very good., my friend had the steak and I had the roasted Branzino which was excellent.
Fantastic meal served by a professional, attentive staff, drinks were great and wine list is massive but easy to negotiate through. Ambiance is wonderful, large dining room segregated into smaller intimate spaces. I will return soon.
Second time there. Delicious food and waiters able to make suggestions. Plan to go again next month to celebrate our birthdays
Food and service are excellent. It is, however, pricey, especially for the steaks. Everything is a la carte, so a potato, salad, etc. are an extra $11 each. I had the scallops last time we were there, and they are delicious. I would also recommend the poached shrimp if you are getting an appetizer. $17 - comes with 6 HUGE shrimp. Probably the best bargain on the menu as far as I'm concerned. I'm a fan of the place.
Food was good but nothing really blew me away. I was hoping for the steak of a lifetime and while my Ribeye was good, it wasn't the best I've had. Our group of four ordered a variety of salads and sides and we shared among us to get the full culinary experience. Very creative presentation but again, regarding taste, nothing really popped or said, "wow, this will bring me back again for sure". The service (provided by Tim) was excellent - he had very good command of the menu and offered great wine pairings for the evening. Overall, I would recommend to friends and I'll definitely try it again.
Was there for "Date Night" on Saturday. Our waiter Robert was amazing. He was personable, knowledgeable, professional, attentive and very helpful assisting my wife with drink, meal AND dessert recommendations. ALL were right on the money!! The food was fantastic. My Filet Mignon "Well Done" was cooked to perfection....juicy (not the usual dryness that comes with a well done piece of meat), flavorful, and melted in my mouth. We had the oysters and the Shrimp cocktail....couldn't be any fresher had we caught it ourselves. We will be back soon!!
I’ve been to many upscale steak restaurants all over the tri-state area and even overseas. Cellaio served me the best steak I ever had. My wife had the octupus and was equally impressed with her dish. The service was great and the prices were very reasonable for such amazing food. Cellaio is definitely the best part of World Resorts Catskills and is one of the nicest restaurants in the region.
Second time here. First time (10/18) was great. This time (1/19) was just average. Service was average at best. Pasta (tagliatelle) came out luke warm. Filet mignon (ordered by two of us) were very small and slightly undercooked. Bread selection was weak. Coffee was a little bitter. I was eager to return to this restaurant, but now I wouldnt rush back again.
We had a great meal, portions are shareable and out waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive!
Get the polenta! The ricotta nudi was different BUT delicious. Ribeye cooked perfect. Reasonable for an upscale steakhouse. Bread w/toppings and sides just ok but staff was professional and polite.
Great food and staff! Our waitress was professional and knowledgeable the food was outstanding
I was a little concerned after reading some negative reviews. I arrived early for my reservation and I was seated immediately by a very friendly hostess. We were given the menus and wine list then greeted by our waiter who was very knowledgeable recommended a wine and described the special. We did not have an appetizer but the bread came with three interesting dipping sauces that were very good. We both had the Newyork strip which were cooked perfectly my wife had the chimichurri sauce which she enjoyed I had the house steak sauce which was not the typical steak sauce and had a littlec sweetness which was a pleasant surprise.we had the carrots and the fingerling potatoes for our side the carrots were delicious the potatoes were coated with what I think was parmesan cheese they could have used a little more seasoning. Overall our experiance was very good and we will go back again.
Great all around
My husband and I were very excited to dine at Cellaio as we eat out often and enjoy fine dining. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very kind and gracious hostess. Unfortunately, the floor manager was incredibly rude to her and barked orders in a harsh and unkind tone while avoiding eye contact with the customers. We were early for our reservation and explained that to her. She was great, ready to seat us until the floor manager intervened and said rudely 'why are you seating them? They're early. Tell then to wait in the lounge'. He was standing five feet away. Instead of being rude, we would of been happy to sit and wait and the bar, which I volunteered for us. We were so uncomfortable for the hostess, it was awful. Once seated, the waitress greeted us, we explained to her that were weren't in a rush. We ordered and were served both the appetizer and entree within fifteen minutes. Our food sat on the table cooling while we finished the appetizer. Thirty minutes later we were looking to order a glass of wine and our waitress was nowhere to be found and hadn't checked in since our food arrived. We ended up flagging down a bus person and asking for wine menus and then asked another waitress to order our wine. Our waitress returned halfway through our wine glasses and never apologized or offered dessert. Very disappointing. For a fine dining restaurant, the food was good but there are many service issues this restaurant needs to work out.
Not quite ready for a real steak restaurant. They need more staff, especially bus-people. The waiters clear the tables, the reservations are about 30 plus minutes behind and the steaks, though less than NY standard prices are less than NY City standards as well. I expect the name sake will improve the service and quality over the next few months However that said , if you stay there , don't leave just expect less than stellar food.
We looked forward to a “dining experience “...for the prices and hype. Service was terrible. Asked for a number of things which never came including one of the lobster and pasta dinners. Waitress kept blaming other people. When lobster dinner finally came, took two bites before realizing that the lobster was undercooked and slimy. Still hoping not to get sick from it. Steak sauces didn’t come until steak almost gone. A few people had some comp points which the manager....who was rude...said he couldn’t retrieve. When they went to guest services there was no problem. He did send over desert....to compensate....but sent three and we were a party of six! Hundreds of dollars later and unhappy. Oh, to be fair, the bread and spreads were very good. The salmon and crab legs were also good.
Will not return.
Admitted understaffed today xmas
And service suffered
We had a great holiday dinner here. The food was exceptional, the vegetables were outstanding. Order the truffle honey glazed carrots and the creamed spinach!
We will be recommending to others!
Once again outstanding
This was my 3rd meal here and 2 of the 3 have not been up to par. The drinks are outstanding however the food can be overly salty and way to much butter as well as served cool (as if was done earlier but served much later). The ambiance has potential however, for the prices charged there should be a minimum dress code. (ripped/dirty jeans, t-shirts and baseball caps should not be allowed).
Had a FANTASTIC time! Our waiter Tim was great and the food was soooooo good! Highly recommend! Our only comment is that the bus persons need to be more on top of cutlery needed for the next course ahead of time rather than asking for it upon delivery and then having to wait for them to go find.
The steak was great. Our 2nd time there, and everything was perfect .
Best Steakhouse you will find. Great food, great service and wonderful wine selection. Top shelf all the way.
The manager Seth was very accommodating to our needs. The food and service were perfect. Can’t wait to go back .
It would be nice if you had salt and pepper shakers or at least a small sea salt grinder. The small container of sea salt you provide with a small spoon is a very poor way to spread salt. There is no way to spread it evenly. You just drop clumps on your food, so some bites have no salt and others have way too much.
Sadly, it was not as great as the first time I ate there. The baked potato is amazing and the steaks are really good. The first time, I had Tyler as a waiter and I was checking it out to take my husband there for Christmas dinner. Tyler was FANTASTIC! Gave all kinds of history, made suggestions, seemed to really enjoy his job and made it a great experience. I was hopeful this is how it would be when I returned with my husband, but the waitress wasn't good...she wasn't really bad either, but she was not inviting, just really didn't seem to want to be there at all and didn't hide it. She made no effort regarding the menu. I honestly thought Tyler was doing a script the first time but I quickly realized he was just an amazing server. The food was better too when he took care of us. The potato this time barely had any sauce on it and it was dry. The steaks are better than Ruth's Chris by far and much better priced. Seriously did not want to give a $50 tip to the waitress but the bill was $200....that's the only sucky part, even the crap waitress will score huge at this place. Tyler was more deserving.
I have been here 5or 6 times, the food is always exceptional. The waiter was quiet, not very friendly.
I was a lone female and this has happened before here. The hostess gave me a large booth which I tried to refuse, but she kept me there. I think the waiter was a little annoyed.
Amazing food and amazing service. Made my fiancé’s birthday memorable
The reservation by open table was not easy but when we came to the restaurant we were seated easily. The food was outstanding. I do like food temperature very hot but soup was luke warm. The bill indicated 2 beet salads instead of the soups but it was no payment problem. The service was nice and we did appreciate the quick service. Thank you.
