Tucked away on Paradise Row in Bethnal Green, Câv is a vibrant cocktail bar and kitchen inspired by listening bar culture. Founded by Chris Tanner and Edwin Frost, this East London gem blends inventive mixology, with a rotating kitchen residency.

The cocktail list showcases refined classics alongside contemporary signatures, such as the Plum Manhattan, the ever-popular Picante, and the Tangerine Highball.
The kitchen spotlights innovative chefs with changing residencies—currently, Tasca, brought by culinary duo Josh Dalloway and Sinead Murdoch which brings a taste of the Iberian Peninsula with dishes like jambon beurre gildas and cachorrinho sandwiches.

Lovely cocktails and wine list but we were disappointed with the food. A lot of the plates were very simple (plate of chorizo, a few crisps with a piece of ham on top), which is fine, but for the price I would expect more.

Good wine and really great service. The food was not good at all. The prawn and pork sandwich was great everything else was overpriced, not cooked right (brill) not tasty (orange in chorizo rice?) and expensive (£22 for basically a slab of black pudding)

I was very excited to try Cav but has a very poor experience and would not go back. While the bar was half empty, it was hard to get the attention of a waiter or waitress. After waiting 20 minutes, I tried flagging someone for attention. When the individual came to the table, I was sternly advised "use me. Don't abuse me." I did not think much of it at the time, but 25 minutes later, the wine and food I ordered had not arrived despite the fact tables ordering after me were served. We opted to request that the order be canceled and left. It's a shame as the first impression was good but I left thinking I've never been ignored and treated in such a disrespectful way.

I've scheduled a meeting with the server responsible to address the incident directly and to reinforce the level of service we expect from our team. Really great place, lovely lovely staff. The cocktails are inventive and good value and the food delicious. Not cheap, but that's the world these days. Seven stars out of five. Yeah, it's breaking the boundaries of maths.
