We ordered a seafood appetizer, which was beautifully presented and delicious. Next, were small plates of bison, scallops, and risotto, which were all beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. Last, we ordered the s'mores, which was more like a fondue. This could easily have satisfied a table of 8 diners and was way more than 2 people could (or should!) eat. Our server, Alejandro, was attentive. All in all it was a great meal and evening.

Cast & Cut was typical Park City. Okay food at exceptional prices. The food was good quality, but the seafood tower was served way too cold. It didn't allow the flavors to come through, and it was quite expensive at $60 per person. It was a lot of food, but it should be served properly! We also shared a steak, and it came out on a cutting board. No one offered to split it or serve it. It was just put on the table for us to serve ourselves. It was good, not great. Same with desert. Good, not great. I read a lot of ambiance complaints. Its probably from Bay Area/NYC types. Cast & Cut is classic Alpine, not modern mountain. They do a nice job making it intimate and still welcoming. The table by the fireplace is the best one. Deer Valley really needs to step it up, though.. You shouldn't charge $170 for an okay steak, okay service, and be happy with those standards. The service all over the food & bev on the mountain is pretty mediocre. This is my home mountain, and I live here full time. It really stinks that no one takes any pride in great food in Park City anymore. I guess they don't have to, and it shows.

This was such a dismal place, nothing like it's website describes. It was merely a few tables set up in the food cafeteria for daytime skiing. No ambiance, exorbitant prices for the setting, took forever to get our food. The only positive I can come away with is the staff was friendly. Worst choice ever!

The food was delicious and unique. The staff seemed to really know the menu. Unfortunately we had a large 10 top air right next to us with loud kids which kind of ruined the ambiance. But the drinks and food were delicious

From the advertising and the website we were expecting a fine dining experience…it was not!! The room is an emptied out cafeteria with negative ambiance. The seafood tower was mediocre and the lobster was tough. The entrees took 40 minutes to arrive and while the pork chop was quite good the steaks were just ok. All this would have been acceptable at $100 a head but at $200 a head without ordering a bottle of wine one expects an entirely different experience. Cast and Cut was Bait and Switch!!

Awesome place! We brought our two year old and they had a perfect prefixed menu for him for $35 included main entree, Veggies side dish, and desert and drink. 3 options to choose each. We had the Elk and Bison and it was so yummy!

I almost cancelled my reservation based on previous reviews. I’m glad we kept them. The ambiance was nice, and it was impressive how they are able to turn around a cafeteria in the day to a nice restaurant in the evening. Our service was outstanding, and I would not call it fine dining, but I think it is a nice addition for other dining options on DV property. The dining room was not crowded, but I feel that they only book so many tables to make sure your experience is pleasurable.

Although we thought our sever Cameron was terrific , we thought the decor was lacking for a high end high priced menu. Our food was good, but very pricey for what it was.

Had high hopes…knew the “ambiance” might not be amazing as they turned a corner of the lodge into the restaurant. That’s fine, as long as you know what to expect. The service was lovely, our waitress and all the staff were shining stars. Food was fine, but very $$$ .

Wow that was a disappointment! As I read the reviews I was a little hesitant about going, but we went. 🤦‍♀️ We walked in on a Saturday night at 7:30, there were maybe 6 tables occupied and they sat us by the door (really) let’s use some common sense girls! We moved tables and it was warmer at our new table. 😊 Caesar salad was good Fish salmon 🤮 Steak for $100.00 was awful along with the cafeteria atmosphere. All I can say is UGH.

We have a tradition of going to Deer Valley so were excited to try out Cast & Cut. It’s trying really hard to be white table cloth, $100+ per person but it just doesn’t work. Either the service and food need to be better, or the prices need to come down. The oysters on the seafood tower were good but the crab, lobster, and shrimp were still pretty frozen. The carrots (recommended by the server) were raw/hard, not cooked. Bison tips were the only thing we really liked (also had the elk, risotto, and French onion soup). And then small annoyances with the service like never coming back with a drink when we told them the Diet Coke tasted like root beer, and plonking take home food bag in the middle of the table instead of handing it over nicely. I’m not sure this place is going to last.

We had a lovely birthday celebration at Cast and Cut this weekend. Everything was delicious, service was attentive and our waitress was fantastic. Ambiance was great and noise level was also pretty moderate. Definitely pretty pricey but everything was very high quality and well prepared. Our group highly recommends the King salmon, Steak frites, all the desserts, the sugar roasted carrots, and the seafood towers. The drinks paired well with the food and were delicious.

After reading some of the reviews we almost decided to cancel but I’m glad we didn’t. While the atmosphere is definitely not five star, the food and service definitely is. Everything we ate was fantastic and our waiter was very professional, attentive but not pretentious. Their signature cocktails were also very good. I would go back for sure. Just needs a little more attention to the decor is all I would say to be five stars.

For a super expensive place like this, I have correspondingly high expectations. They weren’t met. First, we had to accept a late 8:15 reservation and yet the place was half full. By the end we were the only table. Second, we were seated near an exit door, well away from the fire, so the overall ambiance was cold and sterile. Third, the popover rolls were way overcooked and dry, so they brought another plate of them gratis. Fourth, my wife’s steak was overcooked and they had to redo her whole dish, and by the time it was brought out, the rest of us were finished. Fifth, the seafood tower was ok but not great. When cooked properly, the food was excellent, same with service. Overall, though, it felt like they’re going through some major growing pains.

Overall, we found this new Park City restaurant to be very overpriced and wholly mediocre. While the service was impeccable, nothing else could live up to a $535 meal for two people. That did not even include a bottle of wine. The brussels sprouts were very good, as well as the foie gras, the steak was totally fine, but nothing exceptional. There are much better steak houses in Park city. The bison beef tips were underwhelming. And the plating of all the food really needs work, nothing was visually appealing. The cocktails are quite strange, and the one we tried was much too dry and bitter (Rye). Even the famous Deer Valley carrot cake was a disappointment. It has buttercream frosting instead of cream cheese, which is such a bummer. The absinthe fountain is pretty neat, but you better like the taste of licorice. And the ambience is totally disappointing. It feels like it was recently literally a ski lodge, and was never a restaurant, or if it was, it was built in the 90s. The colors are drab, there is nothing chic or trendy about it. Everything is old, basic, and boring. Nothing you would expect for the price tags.

Replaces the old Seafood Buffet which we went to many times over the years but is a far less unique and enjoyable experience. Food was good but hardly exceptional, especially for the high cost, and the ambiance and service weren’t up to that level. I’d much rather pay $100pp and enjoy myself for several hours like old Seafood buffet. This fell way short I’m afraid and I won’t be back. Deer Valley, PLEASE BRING BACK THE SEAFOOD BUFFET!

It is no comparison to the previous seafood buffet which is sorely missed. Somehow the new Deer Valley owners, Altera, thought this was a good idea. It was more expensive with less ambience and we had at least two errors where the food was supposed to come with Chimichuri, and a dessert with ice cream where our server had to go rush and get the item. There was no seasonal decor that we have always enjoyed in the past so the atmosphere was bleak. Much less selection than in the past and no good salad to speak of. I don't understand why such a good thing was ruined. People would have paid more to keep the seafood buffet in a heart beat.

Food was really really good: we tried pasta, seafood towers, steak tartar, grilled salmon, brussel sprouts, foie gras and amazing "one pound" chocolate cake. Everything was very tasty, including great specialty coctails. Service was very good and prompt.

We loved the old seafood buffet and were worried when we read the first reviews, but we knew it just opened and like all things Deer Valley, it would end up being a good meal. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They even got an ice pack for my injured daughter. The seafood towers were excellent and, I thought, reasonably priced for the quantity of quality seafood. The waiter recommended blackened bison tips and they were fantastic. My daughter loved her French onion soup. We had elk, bison and chicken and all were cooked perfectly. Desserts s’mores fondue and carrot cake were huge portions amazing! We will be eating those leftovers for a while! Great Christmas dinner after a long day of travel.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner with exceptional service. The dinner rolls were a big hit, not to be missed. While previous reviews may have been poor, I found both the service and food of high quality. Give this restaurant a try if you're in the area, it's worth a visit.

The food was good but over priced. The staff was nice but VERY inexperienced, especially for a $$$$ restaurant. The atmosphere also doesn’t merit the prices. Lastly, it is difficult to find if you aren’t familiar with DV; needs signage.
