WAS A GREAT LUNCH ON THE PATIO, SERVICE WAS ON TOP OF EVERYTHING, NEVER HAD TO TRY AND GET WAITRESES ATTENTION,
Excellent food and some of the best margaritas in Santa Rosa.
The great rating comes particularly since they made a few service mistakes( delivered our food to another table, then delivered the other table food to us by mistake, then realized it wasn’t what we ordered so had to make our dishes over completely) but they were honest through it all, sorry for the mistake and didn’t charge us at all for the entrees. Thay handled it very well and professionally, food is always very good and they earned their 5 star rating
Great food and service. Due to the cornavirus the place was empty when we got there, so it was Very quiet. We had a great time and enjoyed the fact that we could have a nice chat. Usually the place is kind of noisy.
Definitely yes to recommend. It became my go to restaurant.
Friend’s birthday. Bartender was also our server. She was great!
Love the seafood enchiladas, the service was A plus.
Always enjoy going there and this was no exception. Guacamole was great. Chips and salsa too. Generous margueritas too. Only complaint was my enchilada combo wasn't as hot as I would like, but I loved the cilantro rice and black beans that came with it.
As always a good go to place with visitors who want something different from taqueria food. Margaritas are outstanding
Ordered pozole. It was ok.. but not special. We poured the salsa served with tortilla chips into the xhips and it actually made it much more flavorful.
Unexpected touches to the dishes may surprise you. We enjoyed the food here very much. Spouse called the Aguachile (lightly marinated ceviche) "a Mexican version of a Greek salad" and loved it. Potato pancakes were tiny crisp disks with generous dollop of tasty stewed beef in a mole. Seafood enchiladas came with a tomato cream sauce rather than the usual enchilada sauce, a nice change. Carnitas hash was an enormous amount of five-spice scented pork shoulder, shredded over black beans (no potatoes) and served with warm tortillas. Small and casual, but definitely a cut above the usual Cal-Mex ordinary.
Delicious, inventive food - we all loved what we got - and the chips and salsa are fantastic, very fresh. For me the Oaxaca rice was a real standout. The service was professional and friendly, just like it should be. Can't wait to go back again.
Great selection of authentic regional Mexican food with fabulous tequila selection and friendly, knowledgeable service.
Both drink and food are grate at every visit. I highly recommend and have recommended to friends.
Our six-person party was treated wonderfully. We had six different entrees, two openers and drinks and everyone was very happy with their choices. The service was excellent.
I've been to Cascabel twice in Santa Rosa and once in San Rafael, and it's a great find. All of the food is delicious, from the chips and the salsa to the entries. Margaritas are excellent and powerful, and I appreciate the option of a spicy margarita. Salsas are top notch, with mild to spicy versions. Our waitress in Santa Rosa was very nice and on top of her game. I'll be back! The locations are very different in ambiance, service, and also food... so this review is for Santa Rosa, but I'll gladly return to both locations.
A new take on Mexican food. Although I am addicted to La Texanita, Cascabel is an interesting alternative to your standard Mexican fare. Very very good enchiladas with an outstanding red sauce. The cilantro rice was some of the best I’ve ever had. The chips, salsa and guacamole are seriously addictive. And the margaritas, while not cheap, are also very very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the kind service. Will definitely return.
We go here weekly
In this night we took one of our employees who had never been. We sat outside because inside was overly crowded even though I had made a reservation.
Service was good. We had a waitresses we had never had before.
It was a good business meeting.
Meat was way too salty!! Waitress did not know the menu very well.
The food was good and the Tequila selection was enormous. I stuck with the house margarita and enjoyed the guacamole and cheese fundito (5 stars for that). All the food was exceptional. The Cascabel fries were interesting but very delicious. There was a little wait for our orders of drinks and refills...but they were worth the wait. Staff was cheerful and helpful.
Waitresses was not very attentive I had to ask the waitress I know from another time of dining to wait on us
Excellent food paired with great cocktails! I’ve never seen so many different tequilas in one place beautifully presented. Will definitely frequent this restaurant!
Love the food. Authentic Mexican is hard to find and our lunches exceeded expectations. Delicious, colorful and savory. Our server smiled and attention to us was superior. I had the Pozole and enjoyed it. We will be back.
Poor service. Waiting time too long. Need more servers. Couple next to us obviously on date became so exasperated that they stopped talking, were fed up and resorted to phone interaction exclusively. After a long time their cocktails came with their food. Servers busy with large boisterous group.
No accompaniments or veggies of any kind with plates.
A lovely spot in a retail setting. We sat outside, a covered, open area. I had the cevice and it was delicious!. Great melon margarita. Service was excellent with a personable server. Will definitely go again.
The food is top notch. I travel and eat modern Mexican food all over and this ranks among the best food and margaritas ever. And the owner is muy caliente too. What a bonus!
Delicious, lots of alcohol options. Geared more towards adults. A bit pricey: appetizer, 3 meals, 3 cocktails, dessert ~ $115. Still I enjoyed it, was a pretty quiet, yet bbusy late Sunday afternoon. Good service.
Consistently great food and margaritas. Menu offerings are unique not the standard taqueria fare that is standard in Sonoma County. Service was very attentive they flexed a bit for us for the happy hour offerings a bit beyond the end time.
Always a good experience same goes for there sister restaurant Crepe Vine we love both these places
Cascabel is a great place for birthdays, or other occasions. The food is excellent, and they have a fine selection of drinks. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Great place for good food!
Dan was great! Excellent suggestions!
Sat outside on nice covered patio. Although you are right next to Lucky’s you barely notice. Service tried to be good but there were errors and long waits. He was apologetic and friendly but we were there much longer than should have been with all the mixups and delays. The drinks there are fabulous!!! The food is fair and a little pricey. I had the potato pancakes which were pretty good. I heard the chicken quesadilla was good. Their chips are think and crunchy and definitely get the guacamole... some of the best I’ve had. Overall, I’d say drinks and chips with guacamole is the way to go!!!
The food was great, our waitress was nice but not very attentive. Seems like they might be under staffed?
Food was fine and so was the drink. I will try a few more times for constistancy.
Great chips, salsa, margs
Upscale Mexican
We loved the food and my Screaming Peach cocktail was amazing, peaches & jalapenos!
Food was fantastic and our server was very nice. There was something going on in Montgomery village and it was really noisy! Other then that it was fantastic, we’ll be going back!
This is a fabulous Mexican themed restaurant-
Every dish we had was extremely well flavored- not sure it would be acceptable for individuals that do not like spicy food - for the average person it would be spicy for us it was perfect.
Service was another story- not very knowledgeable about the food, server looked confused and food preparation was slow.
But regardless- the food is worth getting through all that.
This food is so unique Mexican. Beautiful presentation, fresh flavors. Do not miss the ceviche. It has avocado, cukes, chips with fresh rock shrimp. Eat by itself as your main. The portions are generous. I highly recommend. Try the yummy sangria.
Super fun. Waiter was adorable and even made us a special straw for my wine when I jokingly asked. Extra effort to make our experience fun and funny sweet.
