Casa Nonna New York – The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba
Hi prices, mediocre food, uninformed wait staff, questionable freshness
It was very good. The food was tasty and the ambiance lives up to the Ritz-Carlton experience.
For a special, low key evening this place will fit the bill.
I really liked dinner with my wife at Casa Nonna, loved would be a strong word.
Delicious food, amazing service !
Staff was very courteous and accommodating!
I chose this restaurant based on the reviews however this was by far the worst dining experience. The service was atrocious and the food was mediocre. My husband ordered chicken Parmesan which normally is a pretty safe meal, this was not made with the the typical chicken breast. I will never dine at this restaurant again. I can’t find anything good to say about this restaurant, not even that it was located in the Ritz Carlton. I did not feel it was up to the standard known at the Ritz.
Too much upselling. Felt like we had been hoodwinked by the time we left.
Excellent food in a quiet ambiance, excellent service, live music! Spectacular night!!!
Ambiance was great that’s where it ended. While our waiter was attentive, the food was a challenge. The seafood was sub par. The clams and mussels were nothing but shells. We had to ask the waiter for another order. No clams nor mussels in the shells. Unacceptable.
Then to top off the poor dinner, we were charged for another tables drinks. We had to get that cleared up.
The scampi was not fresh. 6 shrimp atop soggy toast.
Not fresh at all. Very poor flavor.
We will not return.
Volveremos!!! Muy agradable y para recomendar!!
Server was robotic
As a New Yorker very familiar with good authentic Italian food and this was not it. Very over priced
Sweet waitress. Cozy and nice ambience. No birthday acknowledgement. But good place
This was our 2nd time eating here and our last. The service was terribly slow, food and drinks took forever to come out. Food was just ok. I would not make it a point to eat here on my next visit to Aruba. Total disappointment.
Angela was amazing. Outstanding service and great personality
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere and the staff was amazing. Will definitely return when in Aruba again!
Wait time for seating is abysmal
Everything was absolutely delicious! The only issue was the singer they had which made it difficult to hear the person next to you. Otherwise, it was a near perfect experience.
I used to go here when it was Solanio. Now it is completely different and was so good in fact that I went back during a second night on my visit last week. The Cheese and Meat plate is second to none. The pasta is so fresh, the best I've had in Aruba. The music and outdoor ambience is amazing! Will go back next year!
Our outdoor dining experience was lovely. The hostess and staff were extremely gracious and accommodating. The grounds of the Ritz Carlton are gorgeous. Live musicians entertained the dining guests. The food was incredible! The only drawback was that there were some issues in the kitchen and we had to wait a very significant amount of time for our dinner. The waitress did apologize and my husband and I did get a complimentary glass of wine for our delayed meal. I would certainly recommend the restaurant and would definitely come back for another fine meal!
I had eaten at Casa Nonna a few days before and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. However, On Tuesday, 4/16/19, the food was not as good even though I had the same dish. The service was excellent and catered to my friend's grandsons who had special dietary needs.
Overall, it was good, but, again, my friend and I thought the food was not as good as the other night we had eaten at the restaurant.
The most amazing Italian experience on the island! The manager came to check on us and the staff was top notch. Food was perfection - just what we hoped it would be and more!! Will go back sure!!
Can’t wait to go back!
Another excellent experience at Casa Nonna. This is our second year dining here while on vacation. Being from New York we have high expectations concerning Italian restaurants and the food served. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails delivered perfectly. The appetizers- Calamari, Peperone Dolce and the Meatballs were outstanding. The mains consisted of Panzotti Di Zucca, Pici Alla Toscana and Frutti Di Mare all were delicious and prepared perfectly. Torta Di Ricotta and Amaro Nonino finished off a perfect dinner and evening.
Yes it was good but I prefer smaller portions and lower price. Ambience was good but the waiter was not the best. He had to return a few times to process our bill.
Excellent well paced dinner with entertainment. Staff did an excellent job and food was fabulous
Food was mediocre not worth the prices
Everything was outstanding! We will definitely be coming back next year.
Everything went well food was very good. Our only problem with Casa Nona was the 2 chicken Parmesan entrees were so hard meat wise it was tough to eat! Chicken Shouid not be that hard that you couldn’t cut it! Appetizers were excellent!! Thank u! Thanks
Great food and Great service!
Horrible food, great service. The food was almost inevitable (to all 5 of us). The service was great, the drinks were great, and the ambiance was wonderful. But our food was so dreadfully bad that I would not even consider going back or recommending it to others. Indeed, our server told us that there could be no alterations because the sauces etc were already made up. That taste like that.
O was so so do disappointed. I live in NYC, one of the most expensive cities in the world, and for the amount we paid we would have eaten far better at good restaurants. The prices were outrageous but I don’t mind paying when the whole experience is fantastic. In this case, the food was absolutely atrocious and it felt like I was at a TGI Friday’s, with waiters bringing the food collectively in a huge tray on their shoulders, with the ticket on display to ensure that the food went to the right person. At those prices I would expect at least tasty food and impeccable service. The ambience was also weird. A kind of Vegas meets Miami. Not what I’d expect in a Ritz Carlton. Maybe in a Sandals. I can tell you, without a doubt- I will NEVER in my life dine here or stay in this hotel.
I realize that at a Ritz Carlton you expect the best, but even going in with that in mind, I was blown away by the meal we had that evening. I can also guarantee that my entire party agrees with me.
I come from a long line of Italians, and have been to Italy several times. I can state without hesitation that this meal was every bit as good as anything I’ve ever had.
The Service was good but honestly the food was terrible. My fiancé had a pasta dish and it was rubbery and the sauce reminded me of spaghetti o’s that I used to serve my kids. I ordered the Branzino. Came out dry and smelled old. The Brussels sprouts were good and the highlight of the meal. Would not return.
The service and food was excellent. I would like to have seen more selections of wine under $25 per glass but our dinner was fabulous. I do recommend it for an enjoyable evening of fine dining.
What a great place for a family dinner. The food was superb. The ambience was relaxing with live music. The service was equally impressive. I would definitely recommend and plan to return again.
One of the most disappointing meals of my life Service what
Service nonexistent I thought I was at ritz Carlton Apparently I would’ve been better off at Pizza Hut don’t bother at this overpriced sham of a restaurant
Great meal, service was great
Other than our "greeting" on arrival, our experience was positively wonderful. Although we had made a reservation, when we checked in at the desk and responded that we were not guests of the Ritz, we were told, in a somewhat pointed manner, that there would be a wait for our table. Fortunately, the wait was not extended and the rest of the evening more than made up for our reception. We ordered cocktails and wine and were allowed to enjoy them in a relaxed manner. A delicious flatbread was delivered and replaced when it magically disappeared--delicious and truly worth the calories! There were four of us dining and we started with salads/appetizers. Two ladies split the spinach salad, another tried the beet salad and I, the octopus--all were perfectly delicious. It was particularly appealing that the kitchen split the salad in the kitchen. Our mains were osso bucco, two veal saltimbocca and a pasta (siamese agnolotti.) Again, the two ladies shared both the pasta and veal; these were also graciously split and plated in the kitchen. Every dish was prepared to perfection although the agnolotti, tasted by all, was the clear favorite! For dessert, the table shared Tio Zio's Spumoni--we have never enjoyed a dessert more. The toasted meringue not only provided a uniquely beautiful presentation, it was an explosion of heaven on your tongue--one guest described it as "like dessert french fries--you can't get enough". The combination of ice cream flavors (chocolate, pistachio, cherry-almond) was luscious. To finish the evening in style, the two sharing ladies ordered individual chocolate martinis and declared them sublime. Given the delectable meal, which would normally be hard to top, we must honestly say the the best part of the evening was the table service! Our waitress, Amelia, did an impeccable job as did her associates. We will definitely return!
