We are proud to bring the flavors of Old (vecchio) and New (nuovo) Italy to the table. From classic dishes that the Genova family made on Sundays for family dinner to new and unique twists on Italian cuisine, every dish is made with love.

Restaurant atmosphere is nice, and servers polite. Pasta dishes were good Crab penne a la Vodka was good if you like a significant cream base. Overall, nice meal. I was a bit surprised that a 3%credit card fee was added to the transaction after the bill for the meal was brought to me and I tendered a credit card for payment. . I would certainly support a local restaurant with a service fee for a take out order, but this “credit card service fee” felt rather underhanded without appropriate “prior to order” notice. Further, unless MasterCard, Visa, and American Express have changed their transaction rules, this has not been historically allowed for a commercial retail merchant. This rather left a bad taste after after an otherwise good meal.
Food was not good and service was terrible. Example: chicken piccata was a chunk of chicken with wing drummette bone in it which was not the sliced chicken which is piccata. Salmon overcooked and dry. Wanted lasagna but out. Asked for fish of the day and was told none. Ordered coffee and waiter “forgot”. Asked about bread and was told it was baking and hot bread would be served soon. Later got cold bread. Took 80 minutes to get entree after ordering. I’ll stop with these examples but there were more. Used to be my favorite restaurant.
The service was excellent. The wine was very good. The chicken piccata was out of this world crunchy with perfect sauce. The home baked rolls were to die for.
Casa Italiana was a great place to take my wife for Mother's Day. The food was fantastic, and I think that it was well-priced for what we had. It would have been nice to get our drinks refilled during our meal, but our server was a little scarce. We didn't see her much. I know that they were busy on a holiday, but it would have been a full 5-star experience had our drinks not sit empty for so long. The setting is great, and the staff is friendly.
Would recommend! We will definitely be back.
My mom and I came here for mother's day. Food was stunningly delicious. I had the homemade fried mozarella and chicken parm. Pasta and sauce was homemade. We had a great and attentive waitress who checked in on us regularly. We will definitely go again!
This is my family’s favorite restaurant. Always get great service, great authentic/fresh/tasty Italian food. Highly recommend.
Took my mother here for lunch. Did realize how big a place it was. Food was excellent but the service could have been a little better. Will definitely go back in the future because of the food.
I will just say FANTASTIC .. i need more than 50 characters to describe . Everything was incredible from the service to the food 😀
Very good authentic Italian dishes. We all had "to go" boxes so we could enjoy the leftovers! We will be back.
Nice and friendly place- good food. Post pandemic kinks to be worked out, like service.
This was our first (and last) visit. The service was incredibly slow (over an hour to get main dish) and the waitress was not attentive. I had to ask when the food would be ready and apparently it had been sitting under the warmer for a while. The calamari was ok. The salmon was alright but the risotto had way too much butter and the broccolini was over-cooked.
We enjoyed a Friday night dinner of pasta and wine. Excellent service and food!
This was one of the top five worst dining experiences of my life. We had a 6 o'clock reservation, but didn't leave the restaurant until almost 745 because of the terribly slow service. Other diners were seated 15-20 minutes after us, but incredibly, left way before we did. After the wait person brought us our food, we never saw her again. We sat at our table with empty glasses and dirty plates for 45 minutes while our waitress ignored us. She barely apologized, didn't offer to give us any kind of discount, and just made excuses about being understaffed. If you don't have enough staff to handle the customers, then you don't seat them....that's restaurant 101. to add insult to injury, I ordered a to-go meal along with my meal, and the wait person never put that in to the kitchen, so I never received that either. I will never step foot in this horribly managed, rude place again
Online pictures showed upscale cuisine with nicely presented food. Although the food was good and reasonably priced, after viewing the online pictures it did not meet our expectations. Their menu was the basic chicken parm, eggplant, meatballs, lasagna, etc. but their pasta was made in house. It was a good meal but we were looking for a more elaborate menu.
We hadn't been back since a visit during their very first week in business several years ago. We really enjoyed the food and our server was knowledgeable. They have done a really nice job opening up the space too - really inviting.
Excellent meals and service! Fresh ingredients and everything made from scratch. Delicious!!
Even though our late Open Table reservation never made it to their computer, the greeter regrouped politely and quickly found us and another party a table. The server was in a great mood with a friendly vibe. We come here often and tonight’s meal was one of the best. My husband loves the veal saltimboca. For the first time I had the Mediterranean salad and it exceeded my expectations- huge with plenty of grilled veggies and lightly crisped polenta cubes instead of croutons. The bread basket had hot crusty rolls to accompany it. We had plenty of leftovers but sadly no room for dessert.
Great meal! Staff is very friendly and accommodating, quiet enough for conversation, very spacious, tasty food!
Portions were generous and very good
Great place is was delicious
Best salmon ever had. Great value, ambience and helpful staff.
Great food and a really good twist on an Italian Margarita.
This was my second time there. Food was great- service was lacking.
Casa Italiana is one of our favorites, glad to give them a great review
Dinner with Cousins! Fabulous food and good and friendly service by Amanda. We will be back!
Excellent Waite staff, solid cocktails and good food. The veal chop was particularly good. Pasta carbonara is homemade and well balanced. Good evening
Best Italian around! Freshly made pasta and mozzarella. Can’t beat the wine prices and just all around great food.
Always an excellent meal. Cannot make a bad menu choice.
Delicious food. Really, really nice staff.
This time the food was mot up to their usual standards. The sauce was ordinary, eggplant uninspired, chicken too oily.
Pasta carbonara tasted like noodles boiled in chicken broth. No Parmesan flavor at all. We asked for some Parmesan to add to it and got something that was more likely from a green can than freshly grated Parmesan.
Mediterranean salad with steak was just ok. The steak was nicely cooked medium rare but had quite a bit of fat and gristle in it. The roasted vegetables were soggy at best. Lettuce was good, but how hard is that?
Overall a pretty mediocre experience.
Absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants in the Richmond area!!!!!
Fantastic all around
We waited 5 minutes at the door and I needed to ask a waitress to see about seating us.
Very good food. Service was quick and our server was very friendly.
Casa is our favorite Italian Restaurant in Richmond , the food is authentic and always fresh , they have a great wine list to go with the food menu . The deserts are always a great way to top off the meal as they too are always freshly made .
Very good neighborhood eatery. Good value. Great staff.
Hands down, best fettuccine alfredo I have ever had. The bread is also amazing. The risotto “fries” were meh but the calamari was great. My Mom ordered the shrimp scampi and that was tasty; my niece ordered the chicken picatta (sp?) and that wasn’t bad. But they both wished they had ordered the fettuccine. I sub’d shrimp for the chicken and was in Heaven. This is such a cute place and the server was friendly. I was too stuffed to try dessert but will definitely be back the next time I visit my niece (VCU).
