Just returned from a vacation and wanted good Italian food and a good but moderately priced bottle of red and Casa Italian came to mind. The place has been expanded recently and looks awesome! As always the food and service was top notch. Best Italian food in the area as far as we’re concerned. Christy the Chef is magical!
Nice neighborhood gem in a relaxing setting. Will be back.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent; I would highly recommend Casa Italiana!
Would love for them to return to the dining miles rewards. I would be a more frequent diner.
Very bad ambience with poor wait staff. Food is great but their ambience and service needs a lot of work. At $20 a plate, I expect a lot more.
I had dinner with my boss. My family has never been disappointed here so it was a perfect place to take someone who loves Italian food. The recommended meatball appetizer was delicious. The Chicken Piccata and Beef Ravioli were both awesome! Thank you for a great dinner.
The food is excellent! We appreciated having the opportunity to go out and enjoy this family-owned restaurant.
Great service, great food!!!
The service was a tad slow. Everything we ate was very good. Really good pizza. Amazing pasta. Mushroom gnocchi was to die for.
Fantastic food and a great experience overall!
5 Stars! Staff was well prepared for the COVID-19 dining experience.
Food was outstanding ! The delectable cuisine and blends of herbs made this an experience to remember.
Definitely returning ❤️
One of our favorites! Food always excellent. Like the family owned and operated atmosphere.
Ordered something not on the menu (veal piccata) and was picky and requested light capers... yes I know, most places don’t like me... they didn’t bat an eye and made one of the best meals I’ve ever had! BUT the service is why I’m here to give them 5 stars... we had a wonderful waitress who listened to what we wanted, a bar manager who even insisted I sample the wine I wanted, and at least one cook who I personally saw delivering plates... I mean, they say la famiglia but I really felt like it was My Casa!! THANK YOU GUYS!
So glad to be back with you. We ordered take out frequently and were so excited to see you were open. The meatball and the bruschetta were excellent appetizers. My husband loved his Crab Penne Vodka and my Chicken Picata was delicious. Thank you for sticking this out for us and all your loyal customers.
This restaurant stayed open during the coronavirus situation because I had made reservations before this all started. We were treated like royalty. People were coming in for take out orders but we were not bothered by any of them. Our waitress made us feel just as comfortable as if the restaurant was full of people. Did not make us feel unwanted or unwelcomed. We have been here numerous times before and because of service like this, we will continue to keep coming back and telling all our friends about this place.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and very quick service. My husband and I had the best time, it was our first time and we surely are going to come back. Out waitress Amy was amazing and accommodated everything we asked for!
not sure if because of covid19 but we were the only customers (which was concerning at first)
very delicious food - homemade pasta and sauces, fresh taste AND huge servings (especially the house salad)
had the calamari, lobster ravioli, eggplant parmesan, seafood pasta and carbonara - all very tasty
also try the (melon) mimosas - only $3 (maybe $4)
Some of the best Italian in town! This is a family and friends favorite, and one you MUST try, if you haven't already!
Service was only ok. Server was abrupt and business like while we were there to enjoy a casual evening. Several of our 6 dishes were very good but the portions were fairly small. We have enjoyed many other Italian restaurants in Richmond that are just as tasty but serve generous portions.
Food was great. We had a large group so it was a bit slow but worth it.
Large portion makes a great value.. Eggplant parmesan is best in city. Ambience is comfortable for any evening. Wait staff skilled and knowledgeable. Service a bit slow for food.
Our first visit and it was a good one - excellent service and outstanding food. We tried the risotto "fries" and they were tasty and creamy. I would describe them more like fried mozzarella sticks because they were chunky. We opted for the chicken Milanese because it was served over arugula and not pasta. An excellent choice but I thought the greens were overdressed. We tried the beef ravioli and it was also delicious. At the end of our meal one on the chefs came into the dining room to show the preparation of a dish for a diner. That was quite a show! A variety of flavors and sizable portions allowed us to share the dishes.
Great Italian spot that is even better since they opened up their new addition. It now has much more space and improved ambiance.
Food is solid as far as authentic Italian I’m RVA. The service was very slow the night we went. It took an abnormally long time to get our food, but stuff happens and I won’t let that keep me from going back. Our waitress Patricia was friendly.
This is our favorite restaurant in town. Always wonderful food, great service and good prices for the quality of the food you get.
This was a great experience from start to finish . We even got a little bit of a show when the head chef came out to light a giant whee go cheese on fire to make the base of a pasta sauce in front of a crowd (all very very safe of course).
Highly recommend this place! Been going for years and I’ll continue to go there as my favorite local Italian Resturaunt.
Food was excellent. Waiter was not very attentive due to how busy he was.
Food was awesome but service was slow. I think just because they were busy but it was a longer dinner than expected!
Casa Italiana is a "hidden gem" in the West End of Richmond. The pastas are made fresh "in house" and the sauces are unbelievable. The fried oysters were outstanding.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – It is like dining in a restaurant in Italy. Very causal, no rushing you out the door, great service, authentic Italian dishes and absolutely the best Italian food I have had outside Italy!
I highly recommend this amazing restaurant to anyone looking for the best Italian food and wine!
Richmond has always been hit or miss for good Italian food. Casa has done a good job and the food we had was very good. Ordered Chicken Milanese with a side of fettuccine Alfredo which actually had some taste - the chicken was delicious and on a generous bed of arugula, it was crispy and tasty. I had the crab stuffed ravioli which was a special that night and it was great, kind of wished I had more than 5 raviolis but we had two appetizers so that filled me up. The ravioli was definitely stuffed with a good amount of crab and almost no cheese/filler, I was surprised. We had bruschetta and fried zucchini as an appetizer and the bruschetta was OK, tomatoes aren't in season right now so maybe it would be better in the summer, the zucchini was fantastic and I would get it again highly recommend. A bit disappointing our server forgot our salads which was kind of odd...so can't comment on that but when we pointed out the error they comped us a dessert which was nice. Our entrees had come by the time we realized our salad had been forgotten so can't complain too much. The forks rolled up in the napkins were dirty and had to get new silverware. Our server was OK besides the salad mishap, thankfully we didn't wait too terribly long for food as some other reviewers commented on. The dessert was also a special, it was a "raspberry bomb" and it was OK too, we were very full by the end of the meal. I would definitely come back again and recommend others to try out Casa Italiana!
Food was excellent. Ambiance was very nice. Casual atmosphere but you can tell that there is nothing casual about the attention to quality! We will definitely go back and try more dishes!
Had a great time. Waitress was very nice.
Food was really good. My dad has the salmon and both parents thought it was great. I had the chicken parmesan. It was very very good. Thanks for the great experience.
Overall, the restaurant was very good. I'd return again. My wife and I came on this year's (2020) Valentine's Day. The host gave us only the Valentine Menu, but none of the items on the Menu was appetizing to my wife. We asked for a regular Menu from which she found a dish she liked. A+ for the host to insinuate a Valentine's Menu, but it'd be better to provide both - the regular and Special occasion Menus.
Casa Italiana is our favorite restaurant. We love the ambiance and even through we have our favorites, have ventured out and tried many things on the menu. I hand my tried brunch so I suggested trying it for a girls morning out. It did not disappoint. I got the eggplant and tomato frittatas and added cheese. It was delicious and I took part home for breakfast the next day. Also, as usual the bread was fresh and warm. But the hit was the strawberry mimosa. I had one the first round and my friends had the traditional orange, but all of us had the strawberry for the second round. Reasonable prices, good service.
They have made very nice improvements to the ambiance with the new addition of space. Solid Italian food. It’s as good as you would get somewhere else for far more expensive prices. We like this place a lot. The owners are very nice and personable.
Food, service, and restaurant was AMAZING! Definitely a gem!
One of the owners came out and spoke to us while we were eating. She was so polite and gracious. We will definitely come back!
Great time with a group of neighbors. None of our neighbors had been here before but all said they would be back. Food and service was excellent.
Awesome experience...again. We brought friends who loved it! The salmon was delicious and the homemade mozzarella is very good. The meatballs never disappoint my husband. Thank you for a great dinner out with friends.
