Casa Italiana Ratings and Reviews
We had a group of 8. Every person enjoyed the meal, the seating, the ambiance, the wine and service. It was a really nice evening. We celebrated my mother-in laws bday. It was quiet enough for the elders but not too quiet. All in all, it was a perfect evening.
Saturday night dinner with friends and Casa Italiana was suggested. Met one of the owners upon arrival (Christie) and she was great. Service was excellent (Angie I believe) and the food was very good. Nice Barbera (red) bottle of wine for starters followed by a delicious caprese and Caesar salad. Veal dishes were tasty and portions generous. The pasta with meat sauce fantastic! All of the pastas and sauces are made in house which is always good in my opinion. When the bill came I was surprised to see that it was a very good value for what we received. It's hard to find good Italian food in RVA. Coming from Philadelphia where Italian food is plentiful and excellent it's a challenge here but Casa Italiana is a very good find and we will return soon. My only complaint is that the ambiance is not that great. It's not a romantic spot but it's quiet and comfortable and still worth visiting because of the quality of the food and the great service...
We took the family for the holidays (make reservations) and EVERYONE had a wonderful dish. The care that they take in creating and presenting your meal is evident.
A true gem in the West End! Take a moment and make a reservation and you will find a dish that is delicious!
Have been here multiple times and recommended it as a good value for good food. Don't know if they lost their chef but the food was thought to be bland by more than one person at our table. Service was very bad - it took over 15 minutes before we even saw the waitress or received water. Really liked this place and will probably come back hoping that what happened to us was just an anomaly.
The dinner we had on Saturday night was delicious. It was my husband's birthday and I chose this restaurant because he loves Italian food. It did not disappoint. The portions were generous, the price point reasonable and the service very attentive. Best of all was the so very good food. We will go back again.
This was a surprising delight! Last time my family was in town we had a less than stellar experience at another West End restaurant. Since my family was going to gave to drive back to Newport News, I opted to stick close to home since I live off Three Chopt. So glad we did. Even after changing our reservation to an earlier time, the table was set and ready for our large party. This was a group ranging from tried and true pasta lovers to "meat is the only food". Casa Italiana had something for us all. The pumpkin pasta special was super fresh and tasty. Veal parm, I heard, was also filling and cooked well. The single serve pizza had a nice thin crust and was piled with fresh herbs, vegetables, and cheese. Mom wished her red sauce had been slightly thicker but said the clams were fresh and liked that they accommodated her wish for thinner pasta. Sophie was a laid back, knowledge server who immediately clicked with our group. I'm so glad that I decided to finally try here and will definitely be coming back.
This was honestly one of the best “finds” in Richmond for us. The food was great, but the interaction and friendliness from the servers (and part-owner) was exceptional. The restaurant was clean, and nicely decorated. We will be back soon, and will recommend to all of our colleagues and friends.
Top of my list for best Italian food in Richmond! Braised beef ravioli, chicken Milanese, and risotto fries are among my favorite items. Quality ingredients, great flavors, shockingly reasonable prices, and friendly staff who really care and get to know their customers! Highly recommended.
We love the food at Casa Italiana. We had a reservation for six. However, we were sort of put into a corner where is was crowded, and very hot. Also, the food came out too quickly and we ran out of room on the table! We really like this restaurant, just not the best night unfortunately.
