We are proud to bring the flavors of Old (vecchio) and New (nuovo) Italy to the table. From classic dishes that the Genova family made on Sundays for family dinner to new and unique twists on Italian cuisine, every dish is made with love.

A casual dining experience with great food, a good location, and ambiance. I do miss the chicken milanese off the menu though.
Food was delicious as always, with ample seating outdoors and very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff.
Great fresh pasta
We love Casa Italiana. The food is always excellent and the staff is exceptionally nice!
Our experience at Casa Italiana was outstanding. Great food, great atmosphere. I can highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely adding this to our go to list.
Food is fantastic, staff are extremely courteous, great location and easy to access. Will be returning for sure.
This is a good Italian restaurant. Casual dining — which means come as u like. A bit too casual for my tastes. But I’m a snob. But the food was solid — a good choice fo middle of the week kinda place. We had octopus. Grilled perfect !! And that’s unusual —- salads were pour. We enjoyed the mains — house prep fish well prepared - linguine and clams - nice size and flavorful. Veal Parmesan also nicely done —- wine list was very limited and an after thought. Overall I would go back for a simple nite out. Prices are reasonable along with wine prices.
We were celebrating our anniversary. I am sure I mentioned this on the reservation, but no one acknowledged it. Other than that, we had a great experience. Service was good, but the food…the food was amazing!!! Pasta was homemade and I had the specialty of the day: halibut with vegetable. Deserts were not impressive (cannoli and chocolate cake). So, I will definitely go back for that amazing pasta!!
An excellent Italian restaurant with outstanding food (and a great number of choices) at very reasonable prices. One of the few Richmond restaurants that still offer a side salad with your meal at no extra charge.
This is a great place for a reasonably-priced family meal, a nice family restaurant. The servers were kind and helpful. The pinot grigio by the glass wine selection was exceptional. The side salads before the entrees were fresh, with an excellent dressing. I was up for vegetarian, and the mushroom risotto was creamy and delicate, with plenty of meaty mushrooms. My family members both had linguine with white clam sauce, which they ate up with relish, only I think the pasta was fresh and they weren't used to that. The seafood selections sounded good, and we'll go back to try other menu options. We liked supporting a family restaurant forging on through the pandemic.
Excellent meal and experience as always. Best Italian food south of Philly!
The Ceasar salad dressing was thick and cloying. It looked like and tasted like a mayonnaise dressing. The risotto was flat with little taste with very few mushrooms. Service was just adequate. The wait staff did not check on how we enjoyed our meal or if we needed anything. There was little ambience.
Wonderful food beautifully presented. Friendly and efficient service.
Our dinners were excellent, as usual. My pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente. Loved the sausage ragu. My friend had the chicken Marsala which was also good. Don’t forget the cannolis, just like my grandmother used to make. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks to Casa Italia for another great dining experience.
Hands down, my favorite Italian restaurant in Richmond. Always the best service and everything I order is delicious.
We enjoyed the ambiance- they had expanded and redecorated but it was ver noisy The floors are hard surfaces and ceilings are open with large pipes so there is nothing to absorb the noise
Amanda was an excellent server… pleasant and accommodating! It was a lovely dinner!
First time visiting for a birthday dinner. The food was delicious and had authentic Italian flavor. The service was great and the servers tended to our table with a smile. The backside of the restaurant is more elegant than the front. You can dress up or down and fit in. Highly recommend.
Our go to place for delicious Italian . Chicken piccata melts in your mouth. Dinner rolls delicious. Veal Marsala a win and if you’re really hungry the lasagna is very good. My husband usually orders the fresh fish if the day and is never disappointed. A must try!
I had a Caesar salad which was one of the best I’ve ever had. My entree was simply delicious- fresh pasta carbonara. I highly recommend this restaurant
The restaurant is family owned and this is felt in the warmth of the welcome and the attention to detail in every aspect. The food is wonderful. It is always a tough decision for me--whether to stick with much-enjoyed favorites, or to go for the amazing specials created by the very-talented chefs in the kitchen.
This restaurant and its owners are the best!
Really really great food. Like really great. Atmosphere isn't the best. In a strip mall. Not as upscale as we're used to but the food made up for it ten fold. Would definitely be back.
Nice quiet place. Food was fine nothing remarkable. Service could have been much better. Never offered refills, never asked how are meal was. When i asked for a different drink (had sweet tea that was awful) never asked what was wrong. I asked for a to go box for left overs, 5 min later as he passes with others drink he states he will be right back with it.... he was not. 2 times he stood over me waiting which was very annoying. First was to take my salad plate as i was trying to finish so i felt rushed. Second was when i was trying to get money and figure a tip. Very rude to stand over someone counting cash. I finally looked up and he asked would i need change, i told him no and he finally walked away and let me finish. Too many other places to try to bother with here again.
Very good food. Great menu and nice waitstaff.
Delicious pasta and fish, nice family atmosphere! Renovated and expanded space, very clean!
This is my first visit since pandemic lock down. The food was good, though not as good as I remember.. I had the Mediterranean salad, which was good and a sizable meal. Oysters were 3.5 on a scale, but the risotto fries are not something I would order again.
Excellent food and service as always
Best value in Richmond for the highest quality fresh red sauce and pasta
My Italian grandma would have loved this place. The menu is varied, excellent quality and reasonably priced. This is among the best Italian food experiences in the Richmond/Tidewater area, and the portions are generous. The wine list was impressive, diverse and priced below their Richmond competition. Entire staff was friendly and attentive despite having a full house. Minimalist decor does not detract from the neighborhood ambiance, but a few more pictures might muffle the volume a little. The modest trappings belie the quality of the experience, definite a “go to” Italian place.
Food was very good. Nice variety of choices on the menu. Will definitely return soon.
The entrees were fresh and delicious. Space was nice and clean.
Dinner reservations for 7 on Open Table. In right on time, great service, GREAT Food! The fried mozzarella was fantastic! My BF and I shared eggplant parmigiana. There was plenty and was sooooo good. Our server brought it on 2 plates and that made it so much easier to share. Everybody’s food was great. We will be back and will highly recommend Casa Italiana!
Wonderful food and excellent service with reasonable prices
The food was okay and not as good as the last time we dined before the pandemic. The service was not welcoming and we were surprised and unhappy with the extra charge to use our credit card. We will probably not return; there are better Italian restaurants.
It's been over a year and a half since dining at Casa, great company, drinks, and food with good food.
Love the veal saltimbocca, especially how they crisp the prosciutto. My husband enjoys the fettuccine de parma.
Food was not good and service was terrible. Example: chicken piccata was a chunk of chicken with wing drummette bone in it which was not the sliced chicken which is piccata. Salmon overcooked and dry. Wanted lasagna but out. Asked for fish of the day and was told none. Ordered coffee and waiter “forgot”. Asked about bread and was told it was baking and hot bread would be served soon. Later got cold bread. Took 80 minutes to get entree after ordering. I’ll stop with these examples but there were more. Used to be my favorite restaurant.
Restaurant atmosphere is nice, and servers polite. Pasta dishes were good Crab penne a la Vodka was good if you like a significant cream base. Overall, nice meal. I was a bit surprised that a 3%credit card fee was added to the transaction after the bill for the meal was brought to me and I tendered a credit card for payment. . I would certainly support a local restaurant with a service fee for a take out order, but this “credit card service fee” felt rather underhanded without appropriate “prior to order” notice. Further, unless MasterCard, Visa, and American Express have changed their transaction rules, this has not been historically allowed for a commercial retail merchant. This rather left a bad taste after after an otherwise good meal.
The service was excellent. The wine was very good. The chicken piccata was out of this world crunchy with perfect sauce. The home baked rolls were to die for.
