We absolutely love Casa Del Barco! Did you first ate here a few weeks ago and my daughter loved it so much we came back for her birthday. The staff is so kind and accommodating! The atmosphere is amazing and the food comes out quick and delicious! I love the electronic ordering system. Super quick and easy!
All menu items we ordered were delicious. Best queso I’ve ever had. Empanadas we’re okay. Chicken enchiladas were delicious. Not crazy about the way you order online, but technology is always evolving and I guess I have to too. Overall we enjoyed our meal very much.
Disappointing experience. Drinks were horrible. Service was slow. They stopped serving some favorite menu items. Far from the prior great experiences. Won't be going back any time soon.
Homecoming Dance Dinner
Food is too expensive and service is lacking since the policy of a 20% service charge and ordering using the online service
Great food, great service! Absolutely delicious!!!
I usually don’t do reviews because it takes to much time but for this one I will be glad to conduct one. The problem that I have with this place is one, the drinks. The drinks were horrible idk if they were freshly squeezed idk. But the drunks were horrible. I asked the host to take it back she did and I placed a new one drink order. No problem. then my food came out, that also was horrible, trash, basic. I asked the host can she also take that back and remove it from my check. There SEEMED to be no problem. 5 mins later, a manager comes by. Starts to be polite and then wants to ask me I heard your drink and food was not to your like. Let’s pump the breaks did I ask for you? No! Now I have an attitude! Yes you are correct manager I didn’t like the drink nor the food. Done deal, nothing else. What didn’t you like about it? Manager once again I didn’t like the way how the food nor drink tasted. Don’t ask me nothing else. I didn’t ask for you to come up and greet me nor did want to be rude AF and tell you how nasty your food is. Leave me alone let me pay for this bill and go about my business. The answer I gave you was should have been sufficient. I am not your employees I am your guest if I don’t like I don’t like it. I don’t like that I have to automatically tip the host when I barely saw her but did I bring that to your attention no. That’s why she got zero additional time. Piece of advise when the guest did not request your presence, DONT GO TO THEM. your making a problem when there is not one. And I guess you didn’t think about how some of your guest make reservations so they can write reviews like this one.
Food was great but it was a little cramped/loud. Restaurant was mostly empty but all the guests were seated close to each other.
Service was excellent
The ordering process is terrible. It destroys the dining experience. You order from your phone, you do not interact with a server and they add a 20% service charge. I don’t mind the 20%, typically even tip more, but there is limited interaction with your server. They need to dine at some competitors a d see how they are handling Covid and make some adjustments. I love the concept and the food is good, but the ordering process destroys the vibe for me.
The food is incredibly subpar, not necessarily horrible, but definitely NOT delicious. For example, the queso has the consistency of sausage gravy and tastes like it’s made with cream of mushroom soup. The beef that was on the Carne Asada fries reminded me of the crumbled ground beef that goes on pizza. There are so many better Latin restaurants in the area.
Sat on up on outside deck 2nd floor. Great laid back atmosphere.
Great food, very slow service. You order from QR code, and push button when needing service. We pushed the button and waited 15 minutes. Finally flagged the hostess, who sent over the manager. The manager ended up serving our table the rest of the night. I’m understanding of the short staff situation, but I think they should open less tables to meet the demand.
Great atmosphere! Service was wonderful all around. The food came quickly and was great, especially the churros!!
Absolutely not acceptable to present no menu, have a call button at the table???? Waiter was helpful and friendly
Never going back again. Overpriced taco. Service is lame. Save you money
The food was wonderful.
The ordering system has serious issues and our server was not able to help.
Could not fix the issue and one party had to pay the whole check.
We upgraded to the roof and it was well worth it! Food was fast and delicious. The temperature was perfect. Service was on top of things without being intrusive.
CDB is taking advantage of COVID. The ridiculous service fee explanation is only eclipsed by the absolute absence of any service. The “server” did nothing! The food was ordered on the app and delivered by one of the staff without comment.
What’s the difference between dining there or ordering take out? What? We get to sit in their chairs for 20 pct with a unsolicited plea for an additional tip. That’s an insult.
If CDB needs its customers to pay a living wage, raise your prices or close the doors.
You’ve seen the last of us.
Great ambience, contactless ordering and payment, fast service and their drinks are pretty awesome!
The food and atmosphere were great! The staff was efficient and very much left us alone to enjoy our food.
Great place to meet friends for Happy Hour! The food and drinks are the best.
Great service helping us with a special order on the tablet. Shrimp fajitas and watermelon margarita were excellent.
Overpriced under seasoned food
The food is not that great. Margaritas are excellent! Service is great.
Food lacked a lot of flavor. Got the (shrimp fajita platter) , street corn and house margarita which was very strong. Then had it changed to the frozen yass queen margarita which was a bit better.
Also was my birthday and there was no special options or restaurant specials.
Why ask if there’s an occasion if it doesn’t make a difference??
Have eaten here pre-covid and really liked it. We did not enjoy the experience last night. It was fine, it wasn't bad - we just didn't enjoy the new order and pay at the table method. It makes you feel like you're in a cafeteria - part of the enjoyment of going out to eat is interacting with a personable server who makes you feel welcome and valued. The lack of human interaction with this new ordering system just seems so sterile and unfriendly. Also, we don't mind tipping for excellent service and usually tip way above 20% but the built in 20% tip seems strange here because it's unclear what you're really tipping for since you do all the work yourself of ordering, paying the check, etc. All the staff do is run the food to the table and drop it off. Might as well just buzz the table when the food is ready and have someone from the table pick it up from the bar. Again, food was fine, but the ambience is just meh
Using the app was confusing to everyone at the table. We rarely saw a server unless they were dropping off a drink or meal. They never checked on us, and were rude at times.
Wasn’t pleased w our experience as the new “contactless”technology on the table leaves too much room for error. No one checked on us & we were rushed to finish our drinks due to closing after receiving them 5 minutes prior. We enjoy the other locations, food, & ambience but the service made this experience somewhat poor.
All in all, a good experience. The menu was a bit difficult to navigate on our mobile phones. It was difficult to find drinks, desserts, etc. Just not as intuitive as other restaurants. There were a also a couple of times when we thought we submitted our orders but it was hard to tell if the order went through. Since you are automatically including tip, we would have appreciated mindfulness from the wait staff on things like bringing extra napkins, plates, utensils, etc. Lastly, please encourage your wait staff to speak up because it is really difficult to hear them in masks combined with the acoustics of the restaurant. I understand how unpleasant it is to wear them in the first place and that they are trying their best though!
Upset about the 20% automatic tip because the waitress checked I’m on us once.
This restaurant is way too expensive for the ambience and service that you receive. The ordering system is not ideal for large parties to engage and/or receive their food at the same time.
Great restaurant. It’s was very mellow for a Friday night and that was perfect. Food was sooooo good, tried some new dishes. Chocolate stuffed churros are the best. I wanna try some different cocktails but still stuck on traditional mojito because it good every time. I love short pump location, haven’t been to any other location yet. I will always come back.
Hello and thank you for dining with us! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your meal and are grateful you saved room for dessert. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
The no menu order with your phone plan is horrible. We've been twice since this has been implemented. Completely ruins the dining experience. There are no paper menus, you have to use a phone or their iPad. The wait staff ends up trying to help with IT issues vs actually discussing the menu and interacting with the table as a whole. It becomes a very disruptive experience trying to figure out who has already ordered vs waiting to put all the orders in simultaneously so food just kind of shows up whenever vs as a group. All of this with a mandatory 20% service fee is just driving us away and we used to love this restaurant!
The dining app is interesting but the waitstaff was very disengaged. Their attitude was, "you are on your own". Not a great experience.
Hello and thanks for sharing your feedback. We strive to provide attentive service to all of our guests and I apologize that was not your experience. Your comments will be shared with the team as we continue to train staff on our service expectations. We hope you will give us another chance in the future.
I won’t be coming back here. Way overpriced for what it was, my $12 Mojito was almost entirely ice and no drink. The buzzers on the table to alert the waitress didn’t work. It took nearly an hour for us to get our food. The 20% service fee was too generous for the service we received, it took about 20 minutes just to get a beer to our table. The system to order to our table kept kicking us out.
Hi Lesley, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I apologize for the wait times you experienced with your meal and will share these comments with the team as we continue to refine our service approach. Thank you for dining with us; we hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future.
We went to celebrate a birthday and is was perfect!
Sat outside on the upper deck area - which is a terrific outdoor venue.
The guac was delish, drinks (Cosmopolitan and margaritas) were great, and dinner (Kale salad, Carne Asada Burritoand Chicken Enchiladas) were also fantastic.
Drink were superb. Ordering via phone was easy. Quick and efficient service. Food was good but not great. Seemed to be toned down flavor Mexican.
Service was good as was the food. Ambience was nice. They have a 20% required service fee for all orders regardless of the number in your party. I always tip if the service is appropriate usually in the 15 to 20% range…I found this 20% required fee rather excessive.
Overall experience it was OK it took 40 minutes for appetizers to even come out and my meal wasn’t great
