We had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated in the patio area. Aside from that, everything was awesome!!
Our first dinner out in weeks. Excellent hygiene standards. Friendly service. Delicious well priced food and drinks.
food is excellent and staff is friendly. love the ranchero enchiladas
We were able to enjoy our meeting in a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent, all were happy.
Casa Chapala never disappoints. Always great food and great service. We love Mr. Lupe and our favorite bartender Ricardo and the most awesome server Jaza! Thanks for always making us feel like family!
We had gold from the lunch menu. The portions were good sized and the food was delicious.
Our waiter “Reyes” was very friendly and hardworking .
Appreciated the extra step of taking temperatures of customers before seating. Casa Chapala took all necessary precautions to ensure patron safety. As usual, the staff was friendly and helpful. The margaritas were great; especially enjoy their avocado margarita with chili salt. The entrees were hot and tasty and the tres leches cakes was moist and flavorful. Glad they are open up again for dining room service.
The food is consistently good and we enjoyed it when it came but the kitchen was way behind and we waited a long time for our food to come.
Great atmosphere & awesome customer service. Drinks & food excellent. Mariachis were magnificent. Thanks for the extra care & attentiveness given. Definitely be back & recommend.
First time there and we loved it! We’d definitely return!
Birthday celebration. It was very slow so no band. Not sure we liked the photographer taking photos and asking us to purchase - that was awkward and they were expensive. Lights were WAY too bright. Service was great.
My favorite place to go with friends and Family.
Food is excellent and very good service.
New restaurant for all 6 of us- everyone had a great time
The margaritas were good but everyone in my party thought the food was only okay. My fish in the fish taco was undercooked. The place was quick and on the quieter side though.
The best TexMex food in town. However, it was really hot though inside. Not sure if the A/C was working properly or not but that would be my only complaint. The customer service is excellent as well as the food.
Wonderful food and great staff! We love our Casa Chapala!
We perfer the Bastrop location. The Service is better (friendlier and and more attentive), the salsa is better (flavor is fire roasted and tastes better) and you can have refills on salsa. At the Austin location they will charge you for a second helping of salad; they don't use fire roasted tomatoes, instead it is just regular tomatoes. I had the regular molcajete and it was not bad, but I have had better. My kids had their asada taco. It was just meet with tortilla....omg- meat was dry poor in quality. No salsa, or am other condiments. I had to offer my children my avocado slices and pico, otherwise it was too dry to enjoy. The rita was ok., not water down.
It was so hot in there. And when you are having drinks that can make it worse. The staff was great...food was ok! Drinks were good-
Excellent food, a bit disorganized service but very friendly. Guacamole was top notch, queso not as good.
EXTREMELY disappointed with our experience on Father's Day. We have been customers of Casa Chapala in the past & it was husband's pick for his Father's Day celebration. The food was either cold, the wrong item, even the taco salad had to go back. The waiter seemed frustrated and finally said "there's a limit to what I can do." I couldn't believe this since it should be the goal to satisfy the customer and get it right. The bill was wrong twice, with multiple double charges...the waiter tried to bring us two "free" margaritas (as we were ready to go and waiting for the bill) and we declined them but then we were charged for them....it was the saddest dinner experience and a complete waste of money. I don't think we'll be back even though it used to be one of our favs. Nothing positive to say!
We were a party of 8, all the food was delicious. Hard to pick a favorite. I had the ceviche tostada and tres leches. Yummy.
The owner came to meet us dressed as a Mexican bandido, we loved it.
Only drawback : if the Mariachi band is playing close to you it's impossible to keep the conversation going
We were in Austin for graduation weekend and had a great dinner celebrating at Casa Chapala! The environment was very festive, the food was delicious, the mariachis were a hit with our toddler, and the manager was so informative on the various tequila choices. We had never been here before and didn't know what to expect, and could not have had a better experience.
Both the food and drinks were terrible. I was given the wrong dish. The maragarita was extremely different every time my husband or I ordered one (even though they were the same drink). The food was overpriced and sitting in oil. We didn’t eat our dishes or even touch them. They server never asked how our meal was & never checked on us after ordering drinks (someone else brought the food). Over $100 bill and we left hungry and disappointed. Won’t be back alone or with our group of friends again and will not be recommending it. They’re are plenty of better restaurants for food and drink.
David (the singer in the patio) and the queso flameado is why we come every week.
Food was good, service was great, and the avocado margarita was amazing!
We ordered 2 orders of the chicken and Beef combo fajitas and was very disappointed had very little Beef little more chicken but mostly peppers and onions. For 38.95 each expected more. Did not complain at the time, we was having a Dinner party of 8 of us and just didn't want to say anything at the time. But will not order this again. The Taste was very good just the quantity bad.
Wow, What a gem of a restaurant! Phenomenal classic Mexican food in a charming family setting.
Great food & family fajitas were amazing and a ton of food.
Very accomodating. Tastty. Fun. Lovec the Mariachis.
First time. Food was very good but missing a lot of what we would consider “traditional” Tex-Mex on the dinner menu. They had as many pages of the menu devoted to steak, seafood and specialties like lamb and octopus. Mariachis on Friday night were delightful. We will be back but better prepared for the style of the menu.
Our first and last visit. Food and service was fair
Great restaurant! Food was delicious. Live mariachi music! The best service I’ve had in a long time!
Good Mexican food, with unique seafood offerings, great margarita menu and friendly staff.
Great experience, but food was just not tasty. Not bad at all, just missing the “it” factor.
Great drinks, food, and fun environment!
It was National Margarita Day and OpenTable saved us the hastle of an hour long wait. Casa Chapala was having great deals on ritas. Mariachi Band was playing for a fun vibe. The drinks were delicious, but the food wasn't at its best. I definitely recommend the Queso Flameado. It is amazing. But I got a steak salad and there was hardly any lettuce almost to the point were I think they may have forgotten it. It could have been that it was shredded lettuce and the heat from the fajita steak withered it.
It was amazing. A little noisy but it’s a very great atmosphere and busy place. Mostly perfect for parties or big group. The food was very delicious, recommend the flaming queso with chorizo. Pricey but reasonable, the taste and portion of the food was worth spending the money.
Good food and service, but very loud atmosphere! If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner, this is not the place.
