Great service, food was delicious, loved the atmosphere! Second time there, and we will definitely be back!
We are on a three day trip to the Bourbon Trail, and found Carson’s Food and Drink on Yelp. The food is quite simply fantastic. The drinks are well prepared and the menu has almost too many choices to choose from. My wife had the Salmon Oscar Style and I had the Chicken Fried Chicken. Both were terrific. Also, try the Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, it’s heavenly. Good sized portions and very reasonable prices.
LOVE the atmosphere!!
Great food and atmosphere come together for a wonderful dining experience.
I loved everything I had, though the bowl of soup could have been heated up a little more. It was very hearty--a meal in itself.
The sandwich was more than adequate, as far as portion size goes, so I took home half of it.
The wine was superb, the best pinot gris I've ever had.
There really wasn't a need to make a reservation at 5 p.m., so I might skip that next time.
It was too hot to sit outside, but the air conditioning felt nice. Some places are too cold.
Service was excellent.
This was my second time dining at Carson’s for business and the return trip did not disappoint. The brie and the salmon bruschetta were delicious starters, and the Carson’s Whiskey Sour was beautiful and satisfying. The steak I ordered had some tough, fatty edges, but was otherwise prepared as requested and seasoned wonderfully. The service was timely and the ambiance was my favorite part of the dining experience, the bar being the focal point of the dining area. Highly recommended!
Very loud. Food very good. Service very good. Food quick to come out. Would not go back for special occasion due to crowd noise was hard to talk to each other
Noise was too much.
Great food and service!
My fiancé and I love this place for special occasions! We had only been for dinner so we decided to try out a late brunch for father’s day and we had a great experience as always ! Loved the shrimp and grits and the peach Bellini was perfection !
First time eating there. Food was some of the best I’ve eaten.
Food and experience was fantastic. We celebrated our anniversary and they gave us champagne and a dessert. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. Overall, everything was top notch and definitely look forward to going back.
This was the second time for my wife and I to dine at Carson's. The food was terrific again (the Chicken Fried Chicken really is the best I've ever had). My wife wasn't crazy about her crab and eggs benedict dish. Not a preparation issue, she was just trying something new and it was not to her particular taste. The only issue we had was in getting drink refills. Our waiter disappeared for a good while after the food arrived and we ended up asking another waiter for refills. Other than that another delicious meal. The minor service issue aside we'll definitely dine at Carson's again.
My wife and I chose Carson's for a special celebration and it was some of the best food we have had in Lexington. Each course was exceptional.
The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is very attractive. We were there with our daughter and her boyfriend celebrating our anniversary. All the food that we ordered was incredibly spicy. My daughter ordered a pasta dish that was so spicy she really couldn’t eat it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich on a gf bun and it was very spicy as well. Neither description said anything about the dishes being spicy. It was a lot disappointing. They did offer a free dessert for celebrating our anniversary. I don’t think we will go back.
The artisanal sausage platter was extremely special...3 very different tastes my shrimp and grits were awesome but the one that got away was the steak in the rib bone....,I will go back!
I made a reservation with Carson's for a birthday dinner. What a disappointment. The venue is so loud that our waiter had a hard time communicating with us. My wife has a food allergy, and they told her a specific dish would be safe. Except, it didn't turn out to be. The waiter has guessed instead of asking the cook. The meal had to be sent back, and she sat there, waiting for a different dish by the time the rest of the party had finished their meals. The mixed drinks were sub-par, though credit where credit is due, they have a superb bourbon selection. The burgers are absolutely TERRIBLE and looked like they had been frozen hockey pucks. The steaks however, were quite good (so I was told). All and all, for the money, go somewhere else. There's some good dining options in Lexington--this is not one of them.
Food and service were great as always.
The food was not delicious and too salty. I could not eat at all.
Fantastic! If you love shrimp & grits they have this with a steak atop and it’s incredible! Steak melts in your mouth! Rosè linguini with shrimp was also delicious!!! Great staff!!
The food and service was excellent. The parking lot was gravely and lots of puddles. The noise level was a bit loud.
New expanded menu options and tried and true favorites. Carson's is always a solid choice for lunch, brunch, or dinner.
Everything was great service and food. Live music and beautiful restaurant.
The food was wonderful and the service was great but the noise level was extremely loud.
The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. I will definitely be back.
Great experience! Service was amazing and so was the food! My fiancé and I will definitely be back!
Nothing bad to say at all. As a matter of fact, everything was super! We’ll be back for certain
We love Carsons. The menu is diverse and has options for nearly any diner. Excellent value.
The noise level is very high. The food was not as good as it had been many many times in the past. My sandwich was underdone and not as generous as I was accustomed to from my past experiences. Maybe it was just an off day, I will definitely be back.
Over salted and over priced in an uncomfortably loud environment.
Most of our experience was positive, especially due to the great service provided by Randy. Unfortunately, we had requested a patio seat in Open Table 2 weeks out, but were told when we arrived that it'd be a 45 minute wait for that area due to large parties in the restaurant that day. To our surprise, 2 people walked in without reservations, and were seated on the patio in 5 minutes. If special requests can't be accommodated, that shouldn't be an option when making the reservation.
Second time going here for brunch, WOW! Carson’s never disappoints. Everything is sooooo good. Huge portions too!
Amazing food, great service, cool story behind the restaurant. FAVORITE
My wife had a spicy steak dinner (can't recall specifically which one) & I had the spicy ribs. Both were excellent. The service by AJ was exceptional. It was our anniversary, he didn't rush us; gave us excellent advice on food choices and overall made this; our 44th anniversary, something very special. ~ Thank you!
Matt was a fantastic server and took great care of us for my son’s graduation. Food was excellent and it remains one of our favorite places!
Quite place with a little bit of back noise that was perfect. Food and service were both outstanding.
Our 1 st experience at Carson's - We had out of town guests and all enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. Waitress was excellent - very friendly and helpful in our choices. We all enjoyed either the soup of the day or appetizers and both were delicious.Entrees of salmon and/or soft shell crab BLT were excellent. Our friends will be back during football season and already requested that we eat again at Carson's. Betting that my wife and I will be back sooner than that. Also, we arrived about 2-3 minutes early for reservation, and were seated immediately. All in all, a wonderful experience
Food was great, service was great as always!!
Food was mediocre. I don't know that I could recommend anything beyond the appetizers...
Amazing food and generous portions. Wonderful live jazz! Bloody Mary’s to die for! Our server was lovely and very personable. Only hiccup is that consistently the hostesses are very unfriendly and outright nasty. From the moment you walk in, they look wholly uninterested in even looking at you, let alone seating you. As a former hostess, I understand brunch shifts can be tough but even in the most demanding environments, you must be welcoming to your guests. Carson’s needs to do some serious retraining with their hostesses.
Been to this place 3 times in 6 weeks. Our new Lexington go-to. Food has been very good thus far. Sauces/gravy (pigs in blanket and chicken waffle sauce) are on salty side, however. Do they have to be so salty? Perhaps it was the meat being salty. Anyway, that was only less than optimum comment for our 3 visits. Bloody Mary’s very good. Really enjoyed our visits.
