Food and drinks were AMAZING!!! Everything on the menu is wonderful! We were not disappointed in anything that was had at our table. All recommendations by the server was on point. We made reservations and were seated right on time! Will definitely dine here next time we’re in town.

Great restaurant, excellent food and professional but personable service. We highly recommend Carson's.

The food at Carson's is always great! Two complaints: the waiter was clearly asked to serve the Bearnaise burger without aioli, but it came loaded with it, and the Big Scramble, although tasty, was served lukewarm. It would have been incredible if it had been hot! The restaurant was very busy, so we didn't return the items to the kitchen.

We went for our anniversary after a day at Keeneland. I indicated a special occasion (Anniversary) when making the reservation but no mention was made of it. Andrew the server was fantastic. Filet medallions were a little too charred (it kind of overtook the steak). We were seated right next to the entrance so it felt a little cramped (everyone stood next to us while they were waiting on their table). My wife got the portobello mushroom stack (a new menu item) and really enjoyed it.

Beautiful bar. Great food! We have been to Carson’s on several occasions. Our only complaint is the noise level so we requested a booth this time on open table.
We were disappointed when we arrived and found that our reserved booth would be given to another “special customer”.

Meeting a good friend at a location neither one of us had been too! Excellent choice! We will be there again.

The dinner started out great with a yummy smoked salmon bruschetta and the ample spinach & field greens salad we shared. Then a loooong wait for our entrees. It was a Wed. night! The salmon Oscar we both ordered was not as fresh as we were told. Then it arrived over cooked, not medium rare as requested. The atmosphere was lively if a bit loud. Not sure if I would try it again for the quality at this price point.

Took my wife for her birthday dinner. We love the vibe and ambiance of this place. It is reminiscent of a Prohibition era Speakeasy. With over 100 bourbons to chose from, bourbon snobs can rejoice! We had the warm pretzel and beer cheese appetizer. It was delicious and served with both warm beer cheese and spicy mustard. My wife had the pasta with shrimp and said it was delicious. I had the salmon Oscar and was very happy with both the presentation and the flavor. Normally we order steaks (which are superb) but wanted to try something different. We love this place. The only downsides are noise when it’s busy, and the fact that even on a Tuesday night we needed a reservation to avoid a wait. The adjacent parking lot is spacious for a downtown venue but not paved so beware of significant potholes that look like small ponds when filled with water. Valet parking is available. Not sure if it’s free.

Our Uber driver told us about this restaurant. Visiting to go to Keeneland and enjoy Keenelands restaurants etc. Waitress clearly enjoyed working there, food and drinks were great. Looked like lots of locals loved the spot too.

We’ve only ever visited Carson’s for Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. My go to is the Salmon Bruschetta. Service is a bit slow but the food is worth the wait. Highly suggest reservations.

Food and service was excellent. Reservation system worked great and was very convenient. Parking is either in an adjacent gravel lot or on the street. Noise level made it difficult to carry on a conversation with friends.

This was our first time at Carson's and we were VERY impressed. The ending of A' la' Lucie 's era left an empty spot for a "favorite" downtown dining choice. It appears Carson's may be the place to fill that void. The food choices are varied and interesting. The presentation and taste was EXCELLENT.

We brought out of town guests here for dinner- we enjoyed the cocktails- and local Kentucky fare. Extensive bourbon list, and the best bead pudding for dessert!

As always, Carson's delivers. The food is incredible and the service is top-notch. This is the best place in Lexington right now and they are the only Kentucky restaurant to be named to the top 100 by Restaurant Magazine.

We came here for my birthday and everything was wonderful except for the service could have been better. I believe they were shorthand or had communication issues. We were seated and no one came to take our order after waiting 20 minutes and informing the hostess that we haven’t been waited on yet. We will come back as the ambiance and food was excellent. Hopefully the service will improve next time.

We've been to Carson's several times and we always enjoy our visits. This time we had Easter Brunch. We were quickly greeted at the door. I believe the manager seated us because he offered to get us drinks because our server was running behind. I was expecting a short wait for my Mimosa to arrive, but I wasn't quite prepared for it to be 10 or 15 minutes. Our server was excellent and he told us about the additional brunch options. We both opted for the Country Ham & Eggs. Food was a tad slow to arrive, but we expected that on the holiday. Service was outstanding. Our refills were quick to arrive - even my second Mimosa. The Red Eye Gravy was the most authentic I've had since childhood. The Country Ham was delicious. It could have benefited from about a minute less on the grill. The rolls with "sawmill gravy" were just OK. This dish just cries out for a biscuit, and the sawmill gravy wasn't the best. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and even had enough to take back home, where I enjoyed a country ham biscuit later that evening. You cannot beat Carson's in Downtown Lexington. Convenient parking next door, reasonable prices, great service, and a warm inviting atmosphere.

Overall, great food and good atmosphere and good table side service. Drinks were slow to come, and the hostesses weren't too friendly. When I called for a reservation, was told all booked. However, when we got there, saw 5-6 empty tables, that sat empty for a good 45 mins.
