Carriage House at Hotel Iroquois
Directly overlooking the Straits of Mackinac, guests enjoy flawless service in our glass-enclosed dining room or on one of our breezy outdoor waterfront verandas. The restaurant features an extensive wine list, full bar and nightly entertainment at the piano bar.
Great fine dining on an island of fudge.
Great service, great food. We always save the Carriage House for our last night on the island to celebrate the end of another wonderful vacation staying at the Iroquois.
Excellent food, great service, beautiful setting, but expensive.
Excellent experience! Highly recommend. The food and deterred outstanding!
The place was immaculate and beautiful!
Lovely view of the water on this Autumn evening.
Had a wonderful time at the Carriage House. Dinner and service were superb. The view to the lake was outstanding. I will go back every time I get back to the island.
This is the best restaurant on the island. Fabulous service and menu. Just wish they served lunch longer in the fall.
50 year friends separated by geography. Perfect meeting place!
The experience was wonderful, loved the piano player playing soft music! Service was top notch and the food was wonderful! The views are very pretty as well. Will return!
One of the most consistently outstanding restaurants we have experienced.
I was looking forward to a quiet dinner with some background music. Table next to us was loud, dressed very casually though I thought we needed to dress for dinner and did so. Meal was fine but very pricey without the ambiance I expected. Not what I had anticipated.
Beautiful dinner overlooking the lake. Wonder food and service
Wonderful from start to finish. Inviting interior, impeccable service. The food was amazing from a beet and watermelon blue cheese salad that we split to my Seared Scallops. They were accompanied by a light wild mushroom risotto. Portions were ideal (smaller which makes me feel better because I don’t have to leave any food behind). It was so good, I went back with a different group the next night.
Dinner was wonderful. The soup was amazing. Our entrees were delicious. I am surprised that such a quality restaurant would serve powdered lemonade. It was terrible!. Service was superior. JRS
Food and ambiance was great! Service was quick and very attentive. Definitely will go back!
Absolutely delicious, I work on the island and have been to many restaurants and this one is by far my favorite!
Overall the experience was fine however it started off on a sour note. I waited for my table at the hostess stand and after a few minutes of deliberating where to seat us they took us to a back table when there were clearly tables by the window open. I then asked them if we could sit by the window (I stated in my reservation request to have a table with a view for my dads birthday) and the hostess rolled her eyes at me. Both the host and the hostess were extremely rude and made the wrong judgement call to seat my family in the back. I’ve been coming to the Island every year since I was born and have even stayed at the Iroquois a few times but now I will never return to this restaurant or hotel. Our waitress was very good and professional and the food was good but was unfortunately overshadowed by the lack of respect my family received. My advice is to go to 1852 Grill Room. I’ve always had pleasant experiences there.
Excellent menu selection, staff was courteous and very attentive.
Great food and wonderful views. Wait staff was excellent.
The setting is beautiful and service great . The food was exceptionally innovative for the classic menu that was presented for lunch. Nice surprising twists that made an Italian chopped salad and club sandwich especially delicious and special. Would highly recommend the Carriage House as a relaxing break from the hectic streets of the island. Well done!
Carriage House has been a tradition for our family for the past 10 years, but we are unsure whether we will dine there next year. We have brought our son and daughter there since they were babies, however the restaurant was not as kid friendly this year. Our children were scolded for playing outside in between dinner and dessert. Our server was amazing, the view was amazing, and the food was good, just wish our kids could have fully enjoyed the rare and wonderful Mackinac Island.
My favorite restaurant and hotel. Highly recommended!
Dinner there for my birthday with my husband. We both enjoyed our dinner, service was excellent
A amazing!! Beautiful view of lake!
Our favorite in the island because of gourmet cuisine and right on the water. This time we both found our entree overdone- scallops were well done as was the veal making both a little dry. Next time I’ll make sure we ask for medium rare. Everything was very tasty but think the presentation could be better for the upscale restaurant that you are. Lemon meringue pie was fabulous. It was our actual anniversary and mentioned it in our reservation as well as to waitress and feel something should have been comped or maybe an after dinner coffee.
Amazing food, service and view!!! There is nothing we didn’t enjoy!!
We stayed at the Iroquois Hotel and had dinner here our first night, loved it so much also did dinner here the next night. Perfect evening both nights, we were totally pampered and the food was marvelous! If you get a chance do go to the Hotel Iroquois Carriage House I strongly recommend it!
Off the main noisey drag. A nice walk. A little more quaint and peaceful. Great food.great service.
Great food, service and view
Great view, food, and customer service. Would recommend highly.
The food was inventive and delicious. Ambiance was super!
Wonderful place for a fine dinning experience. Food was excellent an the view was perfect.
Only concern is the bugs are quite bad on the patio.
It is always such a pleasure to be able to dine at the Carriage House at Hotel Iroquois. This was a first experience for my better half, and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Being a French trained chef, she has a rather discriminating palate when it comes to fine dining, and our entire experience was excellent.
I wish we had known to ask for a table by the window...the best seats in the place. Next time, we will know👍
We enjoyed having lunch outside on the back patio under an umbrella. The service and food were both good. All in all, we enjoyed s nice lunch on a nice day.
Beautiful evening! We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Carriage House. The view was spectacular and our dinners were amazing (scallops and filet). We sat on the patio and had a perfect view of the lake.
Every summer for the past ten years weve stayed a week on Mackinac Island and spend one evening dinning at Carriage House. This experience was so atrocious that we will not be returning to Carriage House. The server described one of the entrees as "surf beef tenderloin fillet with lobster tail" so both my husband or quite frankly an apology.
While we were dining the noise level was rediculous - several incidents of servers dropping & breaking dishes & general noise of dishes being collected. It sounded like a school cafeteria - and we were seated across the room from the kitchen! The piano player was talented but the volumne was much too loud - it should be background music not a concert.
Fortunately we have discovered the "1852 Grill" at the Island House Hotel We had outstanding two dinners & one breakfast there - the food is fabulously prepared & fresh, and the wait staff are fist rate. Outstanding views of the harbour. Their planked whitefish is hands down the best whitefish we've ever had on Mackinac. Great jazz pianist too. Ironically, 1852 Grill is less expensive than Carriage House. So 1852 Grill is now our go to destination & we have permanently dropped Carriage House from our list. Don't waste your time or money at Carriage House at the Iroquois Hotel, it's not refelective of the Mackinac experience
Beautiful restaurant with excellent Lake Superior white fish. Love the Sanders hot fudge cream puff for dessert. The piano player adds an elegant touch.
Great place. Plan to stay there next year. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. Love everything about the hotel and carriage house.
