Under the direction of Chef Greg Murphy, the Carriage House Dining Room is known island-wide for its fine classic American cuisine. Local seafood selections such as Carriage House whitefish from Lake Superior and prime steaks from a Detroit family butcher are paired with fresh salads, soups and desserts topped with signature Iroquois Hot Fudge.

Birthday dinner & it did not disappoint! From the appetizers to dessert, food was exceptional! Filet mignon was outstanding but a bit overpriced. I would definitely dine there again.

Our waitress rushed our courses and then was slow bringing the bill. She even asked about removing our bread 3 times. She was courteous but not particularly friendly or flexible. The piano music was lovely but too loud for good conversation.

I had the diver scallops and gazpacho. My wife had the special salad with a lot of fruit, which she fully enjoyed and the veggie forward pasta, with added shrimp. Everything was excellent, with the only deduction being for the shrimp being a touch overcooked and tough. The piano player was a nice touch. We had a two-top right next to the table that is in a little nook with a large party of 10-12 family members, with many kids. Once that table was seated our waiter became a bit less attentive due to managing the large table. Understandable, especially in a family-friendly resort town like MI, but a little disappointing. The views are wonderful from the restaurant. Overall a very nice experience.

We dine here every year when we come to Mackinac Island. The service is outstanding, the food is beautifully presented and delicious, and the views of the lake are an added bonus. We also enjoy the quiet upscale atmosphere and the live piano music. We highly recommend The Carriage House.
