   We came here for Mother’s Day and it was pretty busy. We waited about an hour for our food after ordering and did not get bread until 30 min after. The food was pretty sub par for what we paid. The server seemed too busy..the busboys were more attentive than him.

   Food was very good, but pricey. Service is impeccable and garden room was very pretty. Our grandson loved the chicken parm - the portion was immense! The short rib sliders were delicious; the steaks were done perfectly ( as you should expect). It was a great Mother's Day experience but too pricey for an "every day" dinner out.

   Service was terrible. I waited over 20 minutes at my table and no one came to even give me water or even ask me. What did I want? I talked to the manager and he showed no concern. What a terrible experience. I wish I could rate them a little less than one, but it doesn’t allow me to

   During my visit, I was surprised to find a 21% tip automatically added to our bill. When I asked the manager, I was told this applies to all parties of five or more. While I understand and respect a restaurant’s right to set gratuity policies, what I take issue with is the complete lack of transparency. This policy was not mentioned anywhere on your menu, your website, or at the time of my reservation. Just in a receipt at the end. As someone who consistently tips — even when service is average — I had no problem tipping. In fact, I felt our server deserved an 18% tip for their minimal service. But adding 21% automatically, without prior notice, feels deceptive and disrespectful to your patrons. Especially someone who is a regular. In my experience, high-end restaurants with such policies always make them clear up front. Tipping culture is already complicated and increasingly frustrating for diners, especially when businesses expect us to cover what should be their responsibility — paying employees fairly. At the very least, restaurants should be honest and upfront about any automatic charges. I hope Carmine’s will take this feedback seriously and reconsider how this policy is communicated to guests going forward. Transparency is key to maintaining trust and a positive dining experience.

   Everything was great. The only thing I didn’t like is when it was time to leave my husbands and I plates were put together in one container to go rather than each getting our own. I have chicken and he had veil which I’m not a fan of.l and they smashed both our plates together

   Wonderful food and service! The dining area we sat in was really loud though. That would be the only thing I’d change!

   One of my favorites. Close to ORD and walking distance to my hotel. Our server Shelly is the best.

    Our food was delicious—Caesar salad, veal Milanese and chicken Milanese. The service was outstanding. Our waiter gave us good Super Tuscan wine and food recommendations. Salad and entrees were perfectly paced—he anticipated our needs perfectly and was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in us but was not overly obtrusive. The whole dining room staff really worked well as a team. Very well run operation with good traditional “American” style Italian food. Highly recommend.
