Nice restaurant. I will return.
It bums me to write this because I've had such an exceptional experience at all other Rosebud restaurants. Unfortunately, the Rosemont location falls short in a big way. Wait staff still seems green, we felt very rushed and almost as if we were being annoyed for asking basic questions during a birthday date night for two. The presentation was okay at best, more like an Applebees, not Carmine's, and the food was just not that great honestly. Certainly not for a $250 meal!
I think they tried to go for a 'modern take' on the downtown Carmines location but they missed the mark. Weird upbeat dance background music, tight seating, very average wait staff. But don't worry, the prices are the same as the downtown location. It was still good food but I would not recommend the Rosemont location. Go downtown to get a 5-star experience.
Very nice, we will be back again.
My husband and I took our friends out for the wife’s birthday. The restaurant was very crowded, but we were seated within minutes of our reservation. Our table was in a smaller room in the back. It seemed ok as we sat down, but within minutes we realized that the noise level was crazy loud! I walked into the main room to see if it was as loud, and it seemed pretty much the same. So we stayed at the original table. Our appetizers were delicious, especially the stuffed mushrooms and the meatball salad. Dinner was also fantastic. The chicken parm was the best I’ve had, and the others also loved their meals. Had it not been for the noise level, it would have been a perfect evening. Honestly, it was so loud we had to yell to be heard at our table. I’ve been to Carmine’s before and I knew it could be loud, but this was ridiculous. I will probably go back to Carmine’s, but never on a Saturday night.
Food was just like Olive Garden but double the price and very salty my calmari tasted like eggs
The food is delicious. We ordered a Cesar salad to start and it looked like they forgot to cut the romaine. Was in big chunks and I didn't see any parmesan on it. They never brought us bread. They need a coat check. They also need to have an area for everyone waiting so they don't block people exiting. It was extremely busy due to a concert nearby. Our two top table was much too small for all of our food and drinks plus we were practically on top of the couple next to us. You usually don't expect this in the burbs. Again, it was extremely busy so the waiter was delayed in getting drinks to us and rushed through everything. Felt like a cattle call rushing us through everything rather than a nice Valentine's celebration dinner. Not impressed.
We planned a night out with the family to celebrate Valentine’s Day and it was quite a disappointment. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre. Not worth the money.
Bar service, hosts, valet did nice job. Server was slow and not around much
Should you have to wait your entire dinner for refills on your drinks? I ordered the potato wedges asked for a side of sour cream...only to find out they dont have sour cream...
I ordered the garlic knot, an appetizer no visit from my waiter to make sure we were content. No bread other than the garlic know which was extra. Asked for the check, said 20 minutes for it.. I the waiter was either overwhelmed and just didn't care. Tight tables and no intimacy. Very disappointed experience for a $130 meal..
We had booked Carmine's to have dinner before a show a the Allstate Arena. We were there at 5:45--show started at 8. Told the server, but he was quite inattentive through out the whole meal. Also, the valet (complimentary for patrons) said we could Uber over to the show and Uber back, no problem. Well, when it came time to leave, the server was no where to be found. It took around 20 minutes for us to get and pay our bill, which made us late to the show. Then, the valet said that we had to pay $20 to leave our car even though he gave me keys. So if you want to leave your car there during a show, park in the free lot, lol. My friend had a knee issue and just couldn't walk that much so the free lot was not an option for us. the food was absolutely delicious, as is always the case with Rosebud restaurants, but the service was subpar. Also, the prices are a bit steep ($180 for four glasses of wine, one pasta and one chicken entree, a house salad that was easy to split between two and a tiramisu that was large enough for 4 people). So plan ahead and pay the bill a half hour before you have to leave!
Very unprofessional service. In fact it’s the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Waiters and waitresses were yelling and swearing at each other in front of customers. Wrong food delivered to our table numerous times. It was just so unprofessional. This is a shame because the food was actually good.
Excellent service! The restaurant itself, I was not a fan of. Not a good looking venue
Stick with the Carmine's downtown - food isn't the the same at the Rosemont location (but they have the same prices). They sat us by the bar, near the back door. not a great location and we were forgotten throughout the evening. And it wasn't even that crowded.
Birthday boys choice, food was great, even gave cannoli’s with a candle. They were outstanding
Perfect old school Italian dining, excellent service & lovely atmosphere. My only complaint is the way tables are crowded in the main dining room. Get a booth if you can!
The place was hoppin' on Friday. We were seated VERY close to another 2 top; we felt like we were having dinner with them. Food was great; service was okay could have been better. The restaurant needs to not crams so many tables so close together.
Food was great but took 30 minutes to get our drinks, was very loud and four tables with the same number in their party were seated ahead of us even though I clearly said we needed to get to a concert. We were immediately seated after having to complain.
We reserved a table 2 hours prior to an Allstate Arena concert. The waiter was noticeable annoyed when we mentioned we were attending an 8 pm concert. He didn’t return to take our drink orders for 30 minutes. Then we were informed we did not have time for appetizers and salad would be tight too. We only ordered pasta dishes. The Mama’s Ragu has more bones than meat. The waiter never returned until we requested coffee and the check. Never again.
I’ve been to other Carmine’s and this one is not like the others. It felt like we were eating at an Olive Garden but paying double the price.
Valentine’s dinner - you can tell the restaurant tried to get as many tables as possible; the two-person tables set up in the back room near the bathrooms were horrible. When we ordered a bottle of wine and our meal, our plates were sticking out from the table because there wasn’t any room. Also, the tables were so close to each other that you were a part of other people’s conversations without even wanting to be. Disappointed in Carmine’s, for a $300 dinner for two that we paid for, we should have been better accommodated.
Had a really great time and service was great!
Amazing perfect the whole meal
Great restaurant, I love their downtown location, but Rosemont was just as good.
Great Place! Great food.
I’ve been wanting to go to Carmine’s on rush for years, it just looks like a great Italian restaurant with good solid food. So when they opened up a location in Rosemont, I was super excited, it’s much easier for us to get to. It’s a beautiful restaurant, we were here for Valentine’s Day, cute red heart balloons, red napkins, etc. there was a special menu that looked really good, my partner ordered the veal shank with gnocchi- if it’s still on the menu, totally get it! Easily two meals, the sauce was silky and meaty, meat and gnocchi tender. We shared the steamed mussels with garlic bread, delish! I had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, I initially was going to order the sea bass, but thought ‘when in Rome... try the pasta”. It was delicious. The cream sauce was super silky and cheesy, shrimp cooked perfectly. We ordered the cream brûlée for dessert, also divine.
The only thing that will keep us from coming back, the prices. I understand quality ingredients, service. It’s the Rosebud group... but over dinner we realized we actually had the same exact meal at a restaurant in the Gladstone Park neighborhood of Chicago for $100 cheaper :/
I don’t regret trying Carmine’s, it is delicious, our servers were great and very knowledgeable when asked about the food, the atmosphere is great, the restaurant itself is beautiful. I can even compliment the valet! It just is too expensive when we have a neighborhood Italian restaurant that serves the exact same dishes for a more reasonable price.
We had a lovely lunch . Prices seem high but you do get a very generous portion and the food is delicious. Our server gave us wonderful service.
From the minute we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed . The Gentleman at the desk even hung our coats. Our server, Marcy was prompt, professional , knowledgeable and efficient. It was a birthday lunch and we lingered for quite some time. Our water glasses were never empty and we never felt rushed. Food , drinks, service - Outstanding! Can’t wait to go back with the Hubby!
Food was great. Got stuck at the worst table in the house next to the waiter/bus station. The table was so close to the nearby table the waiter could not pass through. They would have to go around the waiter station. He was overwhelmed with the crowd. Dover Sole and Steak were excellent. Help was friendly. Saving up for a return visit.
We came here for dinner to relax and eat. Our server was wonderful. He helped me pick something to eat based on what I explained to him that I liked and he did an excellent job. We also ordered a steak from the todays special menu and it was fantastic! Lucky for me my husband likes to share! We will definitely be coming back here for dinner more often.
Great food... great service....
Carmine's and the Rose Bud restaurant group are always consistent. Great for special occasions or anytime for an exceptional meal.
Our waitress Kate was a very pleasant and attentive and we had an overall good experience
Wonderful birthday celebration for my son. We enjoyed the antipasto plate and wonderful pasta dishes like the lobster ravioli. Fantastic!
Food is excellent as is the service. It’s a very noisy resturaunt on Saturday night
Made a reservation for 8 pm...seated till 8:50 pm.
Service was terrible. Our server had several large tables and seemed very annoyed by us (party of 2).
Food was delayed as well. Ordered an appetizer and when we wanted to order our entre the server asked if we wanted it the same time as our meal. When we responded, no, he rolled his eyes. While we waited for the appertizers and entre, the server did not ask if we wanted other refreshments other than the wine we obtained from the bar. Not impressed by the food.
Overall, this was a terrible dining experience and will likely not to return. Would not recommend this restaurant.
We waited an hour for a reservation based table. Then, they asked if we wanted a booth, but failed to tell us it was in the bar, where everyone was standing right over our table hovering.
We had reservations for 645, and got seated 30 minutes later. The service was average at best. The food was good, but pricey. It was very crowded and very noisy!
An Energized Atmosphere with a touch of Class and Sophistication. The Service is First Class and the Food was Excellent. I would not hesitate to take out town friends, my boss or anyone here for a very satisfying experience.
Great food and excellent service from our waiter Constantine - he was extremely attentive, attuned to food allergies, and professional. The manager, Phil, was highly visible on the floor and attentive and professional as well. Much appreciated.
Highly recommend - we’ll be back soon.
John was our server and was fantastic
