A TASTE OF TRADITION
The original Carmella's Cafe, located in New Hartford, New York, opened in 1985. Our goal was to provide our guests with the warmth, charm and quality of a local "Mom & Pop" restaurant with the consistency and controls of a well managed chain. Homemade soups, sauces, pasta, bread served by warm friendly, caring servers was the essence of our business. Our people have to demonstrate an "I care about you" attitude in order to work at Carmella's. We never intended it to be a fancy place... just a place where people of all ages could find good food value and fun in a casual, friendly surrounding! We are now re-dedicating our efforts to those original ideas and are committed to providing our guests with a great experience based on fresh, well prepared food served by people who really care. We invite you to enjoy our best food and service, and please let us know how we're doing
Friday & Saturday: 11:00am - 1:00am
Sunday: 9:00am - 12:00am
We has an excellent meal served by a fantastic waitress. She was so friendly and gave us good recommendations. Our grilled fish was outstanding, and so was the red house wine.
Great consistent food with local favorites. Their chicken riggies are the best in the area.
Friendly staff. Because we had a reservation we were seated quickly.
The place was fun and food was really good as well.
Food was great. Atmosphere nice and wait staff was great
We were well received. Manager and server were super friendly. Our server, however, forgot to put in one of our meals. The rest of us were done eating before her meal came out if the kitchen. Our server apologized, but no restitution was made which was too bad. Food was a bit pricey for the quality.
Food was excellant..service great!....would reccomend to anyone
Awesome chicken Riggies!! My daughter is a vegetarian and loved the vegetable wrap.
My daughter’s 14th birthday dinner was excellent! Thank you!
Very tasty fun dining - enjoyed the 2 for 1 cocktail hour
Great meal,. Pizza and pasta was delicious. Our server had great recommendations and very attentive
Always have a great meal at Carmella's. We dine there often. Love it!!
We ordered chicken francaise and it was only fair. The sauce was primarily butter with nothing else in it. The chicken was over breaded. The best part of the meal was the desserts--warm apple crisp with ice cream and whipped cream and the chocolate peanut butter pie both were excellent and most likely were not made by Carmella's. The waitress was very nice and very friendly.
Always a favorite when we come back into the area. Great menu and amazing food. Shrimp riggies are on point.
My wife and I were travelling to Upstate New York and found Carmella's through Opentable based on the good reviews. We are used to dining in downstate (NYC/Long Island) Italian eateries and didn't know what to expect. Upon walking in the door you notice the restaurant has a centrally located bar, around which are dining tables and booths. The décor is similar to an Applebees, but not as kitschy. Pleasing and functional. We took seats at a high bar booth in the back and were immediately greeted by a very pleasant waitress named Susan. We were given the drink menu and happy hour specials were explained per the usual seating exchange. Beer and wine offerings for the happy hour (2 for 1) were limited but acceptable. We ordered a spinach salad (minus the bacon and egg) and our request was handled without question (and executed perfectly). For the main course we ordered a margherita pizza and a shrimp fra diavolo. Both were insanely delicious. While the fra diavolo was finished at the restaurant, we only finished half of the pizza and took it with us. We continued to eat this pizza well into the next day of our travels and enjoyed it cold as much as we did hot. I would definitely recommend Carmella's to any Italian food lover who finds themselves craving some red sauce while in the New Hartford area.
Large portions. Chicken parm had overly breaded and heavily fried large piece of flat chicken, pasta with sauce was bland. Decor was like a diner. Overall it was not very good and we will not go again.
We had a pre-Christmas luncheon with family and friends on December 23rd. We had a lovely time and the food was terrific. I made this reservation online weeks ago, but they didn't seem to know anything about it when we got there. Nonetheless, they gave us the round table for 8 that I requested and the food and service was perfect.
Very good burger. Raspberry martinis 2 for 1 during Happy Hour. Yummy. However, drinks are served both at the same time.
Service was very good ....perhaps because reservation made thru Open Table.
We left full. Happy.Great company and conversation with friends.
In and out in 90 minutes.
I would return for both a burger and cocktails .
Cozy, classy atmosphere. Authentic Italian.
While I haven't been back in this area for many years it was great to see Carmella's as a choice on open table. Same great food as always, lots to choose from but don't overlook the chicken or shrimp riggies!! They are amazing.
Great place dinner and drinks. Always like to visit the old places I used to hang out in.
Its dirty seriously dirty everything about it is dirty
Great food! Great service! Clean, attentive staff. I find it hard to find good food in upstate New York. In a place that's clean and not rusted out. This checked off all the boxes.
The server was very attentive but not overbearing. There were a lot of young children in the section which was great because I didn't feel like my 6 month old would cause a disruption. Food was amazing, fresh and authentic Italian with a lot of other options.
