   Staff are so friendly, food was delicious and the restaurant is clean and pretty too. Great location for pre show dinner as it’s right by the Corn Exchange and near the grand arcade for parking too.

   Everything about this was ‘okay’. Nothing good, nothing bad. Just very, very average. I haven’t eaten at Carluccio’s for a very long time but thought this was a safe bet with two children with differing demands. It did not live up to my memory or expectations.

   It was a busy midweek lunchtime and things were pretty frantic both out front and in the kitchen but once we were finally seated, our servers were really on it. Food was tasty and we enjoyed our lunch

   A dinner with old friends turned out to be as quick as meeting for a McDonald’s. We arrived at one of the later slots of the night and were told the kitchen would be closing imminently despite us booking ahead online in advance (booked for 7:45). The manager then announced we need to order everything at the start of the meal if we wanted more than one course. I made a decision on the spot as I felt pressured. During the meal we were again asked if we wanted anything else while two of us were still eating. It’s safe to say the whole experience felt rushed. One exception was the waitress who was lovely, it was her manager that made the experience uncomfortable. We were in and out within 35 minutes. Turning us away would have been the better option had we known what would follow. Carluccios is usually a firm choice for a great evening but sadly not this time.

   Ideal to eat here before visiting the Cambridge Corn Exchange which is opposite. Food and service very good.
