Excellent experience, but next time will definitely request the Veranda. Was placed in the lobby and it was enjoyable until a loud tour group pulled in.

Prefer the old menu they use to have. I would recommend a friend look at the menu before going to the restaurant. We liked the Capitol Grille much more than the new restaurant.

The only good thing about the afternoon tea at the Hermitage Hotel was the server. He was nice and very attentive. The food was absolutely Horrible! The scones were hard and dry. The sandwiches were made on hard white sandwich bread. The quiche was cold! The decor… all of the plates on the food tower were different. One had blue flowers, one had a gray and brown design and the other had a silver rim. The experience is overpriced and underwhelming. I would NOT recommend the afternoon tea to anyone!

The service was very good-welcoming hostess and our server was very attentive. The setting was nice and the pot of tea and tea selections were interesting (in a good way). However, sadly, the food was mediocre at best. The scone wasn't served warm, nor the mini quiche. They weren’t ice cold but both definitely had a chill- both bland. The tea sandwiches were edible but not in range of being wonderful. The bread wasn’t soft, almost as if air had gotten to them. The desserts I can’treally recall, nothing stood out. We enjoyed the atmosphere but wouldn't have to have this tea service again. I couldn't recommend it to anyone. I've had some excellent afternoon teas over the years, the Ritz Atlanta still tops my list. Every new city I visit, I always check if there's an afternoon tea. There's an architecture room in Savanah that I visited a few years ago that was wonderful (Gryphon). Anyway, the Hermitage tea, while a good concept, needs improvement. Did I complain to the server? No, because what could be done at that point? I really debated on whether to leave a less than great review. But, after speaking with another friend who had gone to the tea in January and had a similar experience, I decided to proceed. One change I'd make is to offer a creative, non-alcoholic drink option in addition to the alcoholic drinks that are part of the tea experience. My comments are only in relation to the afternoon tea. I haven't been to the Capitol Grille since before Covid, but it used to be really great, so I'd still recommend to a friend at least trying it.

We did the Sunday afternoon tea, it was nice but we were seated right in front of check-in/desk so it was a little distracting. It also felt a little too public to really enjoy everything. The veranda is where I guess they typically serve the tea, but it was closed for a private event. When we received our courtesy call prior to the tea, he did say we wouldn’t be seated in the veranda however I didn’t realize we’d be in the front foyer at the desk. He also asked about allergies which was nice even though we didn’t require that. The food was just ok, the quiche and tart crust was hard as a rock. The valet parking was super fast, easy in/out, friendly and comp’d with the tea. Overall, I’d probably not do it again here, we’ve had much better experiences with afternoon tea elsewhere. Side note: they do offer a non-alcoholic starting beverage if they champagne isn’t your cup of tea.

I spoke to someone 3 times before I arrived about allergies and when I arrived nothing had been done as they said. I had to have the waiter go and check with the chef and the allergy items were still on our plate. Was not worth the $75 per person, food was mediocre.

Went here for their Galentines tea. The location/ambiance was fantastic. The room is full of windows, lots of plants and background piano music. The only thing they could have used is some festive valentine hearts somewhere to commemorate the holiday! Food was excellent. Loved everything they prepared. First time in a long time since I had such good “tea” food. The tea drink, on the other hand, was not as good as it could have been. The tea was very strong, too strong for me. I had to use lots of sugar and milk to soften the taste. It was almost coffee-like. This was for the black teas. Other teas might be lighter? Overall, I liked coming here for afternoon tea. I’m a newcomer to Nashville and have had it a few places now and this one is my favorite so far. The food and the ambiance is superb.

As a lover of high tea, I was looking forward to this experience, particularly since they had touted a partnership with Draper James. Unfortunately, the experience disappointed. Despite the elegant surroundings of the hotel lobby, the service was bizarrely third-rate. From the host, who was disorganized, not welcoming or gracious and smelled of B.O., to the waiter, though polite, fumbled through the service as if he had never poured a pot of tea before, and disappeared for very long periods of time, it was a sub-par experience. The sandwiches were dry and hard, as if they had been made much earlier in the day and not wrapped in Saran Wrap. The toppings were sparse too, as if they had run out of chicken salad and cream cheese, etc. Needless to say, $75 was a steep price to pay. Would it had been worth it if it were cheaper? No, it would have been best to skip this experience entirely.

The Hotel was beautiful. The service was outstanding. The tea was weak. The bread was stale. The portions were small. The price was high. I was so excited to learn that The Hermitage Hotel was offering Afternoon Tea as we need something like this in Nashville and at such a lovely hotel. Our server, Christian, graciously greeted us and throughout the tea service he was extraordinary! He should be commended for his high quality of service and attention to detail. Sadly, that was the only part of our experience that was outstanding. I was shocked to see how small the sandwiches, pastries and scones were and that they were not fresh. I understand that tea sandwiches are not normal sized but these were bland, very small and on stale bread. I’m sure they made them in advance because I asked for more and they arrived in the same state as the first set. Also, I was charged an extra $15.00 for these small, stale sandwiches. It seems to me that in a hotel that claims to be one of the finest in the South that all offerings should be of the highest quality especially considering the price. A point was made about the cute napkins and the celebrity attached to this afternoon tea and I agree that the napkins we’re pretty but I doubt that the celebrity would be pleased with the afternoon tea that was served on that Sunday. It was disappointing to say the least. Having traveled quite a lot, I have had the privilege to have had afternoon tea at some of the finest hotels in the world and afternoon tea at the Hermitage Hotel doesn’t even come close to the standards of these other hotels. I would absolutely not recommend this to anyone. Should you find yourself in London in the UK, visit the Langham Hotel or ANY of the other fine hotels in London and you will enjoy one of the best afternoon tea experiences to be had. The Hermitage Hotel should be embarrassed by what they are trying to pass off as afternoon tea and at such a high price!

We thought the scones would have been slightly warm or not so cold. Great experience! Lovely music. Servers were very nice! Took a group photo for us. Sandwiches were very good! Perhaps provide a little overview about the process when first seating or upon greeting guests. Have already recommended the experience! There was an issue (delay) with our tea service, but the server promptly made up for it.

I had a lovely "high tea" on Sunday afternoon. If was all very good. I have one comment: a $400.00 high tea (for 3) should have a nicer napkin. Our napkins were "cute" but unlined so that you could see the "raw" side of the napkin. It did not match the high quality of the Hermitage Hotel linens, food, service, etc.
