The Capital Bar & Grill may be the embodiment of Capital’s Southern Comfortable culinary vision focusing on provincial comfort food with a particular emphasis on the bounty of Arkansas. The tools of the bar include the most sought-after liquors, mixers and ingredients. In sort of a back-to-the-future twist, it has been a devotion to handmade classic and custom cocktails (the Aviation vs. the Cropduster) that has established Capital Bar as a nationally-regarded spirits destination.     My wife and I dined here last night. Our server was Aley. She did an impeccable job last night, very attentive and professional. I had the New York Strip Steak, medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The parmesan fries are always a hit. My wife had the braised short rib. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was exquisite. We loved our experience and love dining here!

    A great place to have a great meal or a drink 🍻 we were there for our anniversary. The wait staff was very friendly and we will definitely be back. We were a little over dressed....more of a polo shirt and slacks kind of vibe

    We had an early dinner before an event at the Robinson Center. The staff were all working extremely hard. There appeared to be a backup coming from both the kitchen and the bar. Mybadvice would be to have the management of the restaurant to coordinate staffing needs according to the event schedule at nearby venues. This way you can still capitalize on the crowds but also still provide efficient service.

    We had our wedding and reception at the Capital Hotel ten years ago it was AMAZING! For our anniversary we decided to have a late lunch at the Bar and Grill. Staff were friendly and attentive. However ten minutes after they delivered our wonderful martinis, our salad, food and glass of wine came out, all at once. I wasn't even half finished with the martini. The Caesar salad was awful, tasted like old lettuce and I couldn't finish it. The shrimp pasta and pork schnitzel were decent (may want to stick with their usually excellent burger) Our server was adorable, however do not know why she didn't space out our salads and main meals so we could linger, Maybe a good idea is to ask patrons if they have time constraints, since they do also service lots of business people. We had mentioned it was our anniversary and it surprised me it's not the hotels policy to offer a little something special when you are there for an occasion... and nothing. The ambiance is just blah. Brown and very little art We walked around the hotel and just seemed overall it's not the same high quality hotel it used to be. Small example, they usually had bottle waters with the Capital logo on it, at the bell stand, nice touch, no more ( someone's personal water bottle just sitting there) Unfortunately in the daytime it just didn't live up to the previous standards. I think these days, a better time to visit the Capital Hotel might be nighttime since most everything looks better in low lighting.

    We celebrated my husband’s 55th Birthday and we had a great time. Danielle, our server, was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable of the menu options and provided spot on recommendations. She very attentive and if you dine her, you should request her. The restaurant was clean, cozy and quiet. Food was excellent. I would strongly recommend!!

    We had several good dishes but the red fish with fried green tomatoes stole the show. Our waitress, Danielle, was just the right balance of friendly, attentive and informative - even though 2 large tables came in right after us! Good food, good service, good time had my all.

    The service and food at Capital Bar and Grill were outstanding. Our two year old was not having a good evening and the staff did everything they could to make him happy. They were so kind. We ended up boxing up our meals so we didn’t ruin other patrons night with a screaming toddler, they packed everything up nicely and included silverware so that we could enjoy the rest of our meal at our hotel. Next time we are in Little Rock we will definitely return (without the unruly toddler 🤪).

    Usually a big fan of Capital, but was really disappointed this time with the service. Waited over 30 minutes before my group of 3 got a glass of wine. There were 8 open tables and had 6 staff standing around the room, so they weren’t overly busy or under-staffed.

    This was our first visit and it was delicious. We started with cocktails. My last word was delicious. Can't wait to try to make it at home. We split a wedge. Even split it was huge. The pecans are a must have. They are savory not sweet with the right amount of heat. The entree we split also. It was more than enough. The spare rib was really tasty. I would definitely recommend it.

    We had the perfect dinner at Capital Bar and Grill. We thoroughly enjoyed the beef short ribs and a New York strip. Perfectly cooked! Our sides of asparagus, parmesan fries, and potatoes were delicious as well. Molly was the best server ever! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Definitely ask for her table.

    We had a lovely dinner at Capitol Bar and Grill. It was our first visit to the hotel and it was so lovely! The food at the Bar and Grill was delicious and the service by Blaine was perfect. My husband had the shrimp and grits and I had a cup of the duck and andouille gumbo and the Cobb salad. All were perfectly cooked and yummy. We also shared a slice of the amazing strawberry cheesecake. We hope to return soon.

    Went to have dinner and drinks before a play. They were out of small plates for us to use when our appetizers came. It was loud and people were standing in the aisles of the restaurant. I expected a more upscale experience. The server and drinks were great and the food was fine. Not sure this is where I would choose to dine before another play though.

    We expected this restaurant to be first class being that its situated inside the fabulous Capital Hotel in Little Rock, but on a slightly more laid back basis being more of a pub type venue. The wait staff and the bartenders are all superb, friendly and attentive. But we could not have been more disappointed with the food and the prices which are on a par with the One Eleven Bar on the opposite side of the lobby of the hotel, which is exquisite fine dining, but the quality of the food at the Capital Bar is more reminiscent of a fast food diner. The problem is that the One Eleven is closed a couple of days a week so guests have no option on those occasions to eat at the Capital Bar, unless they want to leave the hotel to find somewhere else to eat.

    It was supposed to be date night- had no babysitter but they treated us like special guests and the steak was IMMACULATE. The chef put his ALL in those steaks! I’m still raving about it ! Last time I ate Capital Grill was in Orlando Florida 7 YEARS ago . This was just awesome! Wonderful host, wonderful Waiter , & immaculate chefs KISS 💅🏽🤌🏽

    The cocktails were pretty good, but very expensive. Also, we ordered 2 glasses of the Cabernet which were $18 a piece and it tasted like it was wine out of a box. If you are going to charge $18 for a glass of wine it should be delicious and it wasn't. We did enjoy the ambiance of the place and Justin our server was really great.

    The server tried. She really did, but they didn’t have half the stuff listed on the menu. I ordered the short ribs. It arrived as a giant chunk and had the texture of pot roast. I ate it without complaining, as it was pretty late in the evening already. Other bar patrons were excessively loud I definitely will not be back.

    Great food and great service, the capitol is such a beautiful iconic hotel it’s a shame people wear sweats and baseball caps at dinner and cant dress appropriately. Wish more place had dress codes

    The food was excellent and our servers and hostesses tried very hard. However, there was a large gala in the hotel that night, and many guests were loudly congregated in the bar and grill when we arrived. The noise level was unbelievable. The party goers were also quite self absorbed - placing glasses and purses on tables when the staff was clearly trying to seat people with reservations. It was very difficult for the servers to weave through the crowd, and to keep an eye on the tables they were trying to serve. The food was wonderful, and the staff did their best, but I was looking forward to chatting with my dinner partner, and that was impossible for half of the time we were there. I don't know how the staff could have handled the situation better, but I won't be dining there again on a Saturday evening. It wasn't the pleasant experience I had anticipated.

    Well, I can honestly say the meal was average and the experience less than expected, since we both ordered T-Bones at $50 per and neither of the steaks was cooked to taste, or specifications. Next, in attempting to salvage the meal with a dessert, I decided to order a chocolate rum tart, which was served as a piece of overcooked pecan pie with ice cream. Rather than raise a fuss, or sending it back, I simply ate it and paid the bill before we left. As a first experience at Capital, in Little Rock, I’m afraid to say, this may be our last visit to the hotel, also, in this city.
