Delicious food and great service ! My discerning Italian husband has the ravioli and declared them the beat he has had I loved the eggplant parmigiana ( NOT a casserole , but a single lightly breaded fairly thick slice ... very good!) we came in behind two large groups and our very attentive server warned us of a delay but we were happy enjoying drinks , delicious focaccia and our caprese salad and then the entrees came out :) Somewhat noisy atmosphere with the large groups but good ambiance otherwise
Food is good and decent size servings. Only concern is they do not serve vegetables with most dishes.
We go to Capisce about eight times a year. We recommend the tortilla soup (I know, but just get it), the flank steak, and the zuggheti (zucchini cut into thin strips with your choice of sauce, so you can stay on your low-carb diet).
Just know that the meal can take awhile, so if you have kids with you, order right away!
The food was good but unable to enjoy and have a conversation because the noise level was too high!!!
Best place to eat in Stateline-Zephyr Cove.
Very friendly and very good food at reasonable price. Easy in and out with parking.
We love Capisce!! Every time we are in Tahoe, we go there for dinner. The “sauce” is amazing! Raviolis, Eggplant Parmigiana, Chicken Parmigiana, Artichoke Chicken, Capisce Soup, everything is delicious! The servers are so nice and friendly!
Great food service & bar!
The service is horrible and the food we ordered was raw! We just paid and left and won’t ever come back!!
loved all the choices on the menu we had a party of 6 everyone had something different and everyone was very satisfied great meal
Love this restaurant.
Beautiful setting and decor. To knotch service, great food.
Seriously great food
Our first time but not our last. Food and service was outstanding
Vegetable risotto bowl too salty. Gi Spicy pasta dish was excellent. Eggplant appetizer was excellent.
Got snowed in. Google showed this the closest restaurant to our resort. It was truly the highlight of our winter vacation! From the spacious parking lot and beautiful bldg. outside to the stunning granite bar and romantic, well appointed restaurant. This is dining at its finest. The service and food were superb! The portions are ample. We had their special homemade Capisce soup, scallops au gratin (3 huge tender scallops), and their signature spicy Gi Pasta entre was out-of-this-world! I substituted the pasta noodle for zughetti. Absolute perfection! Oh, then dessert! The homemade banana pudding and Tiramisu were utterly scrumptious! We can hardly wait to go back to Tahoe, just for meals at this fabulous little mountain jewel!
Great authentic Italian food from appetizers to dessert. Service was excellent also
This is our fourth time enjoying a meal at Capisce. My only criticism is that I ordered a glass of white wine which unfortunately came to the table in a warm/ room temperature state. I normally would never send a glass of wine back due to improper temperature but this was a fairly expensive glass so I decided to see if I could ask for it to be chilled a bit. Our waiter was very busy so I went directly to the bartender to get help. His answer was for me to put an ice cube in my glass. Very inappropriate! I told him I would not be drinking the wine I had been originally been served ( which I didn’t) & he did bring me a chilled glass of replacement wine although it didn’t make it the table until we had almost finished our dinner. Other than that, our meal was delicious!
Perfect for a small family dinner out. Wonderful, friendly service - especially attentive to child's dining experience - thank you, Amanda! We'll be back!
excellent food, great homemade Italian, nice happy hour, reasonable cost
The chicken pesto pasta was fantastic. Great seevice, friendly staff. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
We always have a wonderful dining experience at Capisce !
Went here for Valentines Day and we enjoyed the menu quite a bit. I would not particularly recommend the Zughetti, but it is nice to have zucchini spirals in lieu of pasta for a healthier dish. Highly recommend the cookie à la mode. Wonderful!
The waitstaff and ambience were wonderful, as was the appetizer... but my main dish seemed to have day-old refrigerator-cold seafood mixed into the very nice hot fresh pasta. Were it not a crowded ‘special evening’ (Valentine’s Day) I would have sent it back.
Food was great. Service was very fast and they have a good happy hour.
I’ve been here many times but this was absolutely the best meal I’ve had there. We had four pastas-lasagna, the ravs, two creamy pastas with seafood. Absolutely delicious, they did an excellent job with each dish, everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. Dinner was served with delicious bread which everyone ate too much of it was so good. The prices seem a little high for pasta but the quality is really good. This restaurant is a do!
We stood at the hostess stand for almost 20 minutes waiting to be seated 2 or 3 people saw us and told us to wait. They appear to be severely understaffed. There was no one else waiting to be seated. Service was very slow and food was just average
This is our second time dining here. It's nice and quiet, you can actually chat with people across the table. The service was excellent, and the wine list prices are reasonable. I like the food but my wife was less enthusiastic. It's a large menu, I ordered home made ravs which were very tasty and we shared a Caesar salad which was on the small side. All in all a nice restaurant with fair prices.
The best Italian I have ever had, period! Such a great experience.
Best Italian around. Fresh and wonderful!!
Some of the best Italian food we've ever had. And my wife's family has owned an Italian restaurant for almost 50 years.
We were looking forward to authentic pastas and we were not disappointed with the ravioli. The Mozz bread was great too. We had a group of 8 people including 1 five year old and 2 year old with dinner reservations for 6:15 pm. It took 35 min to get most of our drinks (Sierra Mist took another half hour), 55 min for appetizers, focaccia bread finally came after an hour and twenty min wait (with one serving plate of basalamic and olive oil) and an hour and a half for the kids corn dogs, delivered with entrees. So yeah the service was horrible. At least three 4 top tables came in after us and finished before we were served entrees. My kids and wife ended up waiting in the car as our two year old couldn’t stay alert that long. Quality of the food while good did little to make up for the lack of attention. Do not eat here with with more than four people.
Great pasta, good service... a little noisy but will definitely go back again
So glad Capisce S. Lake Tahoe was recommended. We had driven by for years and did not know it was there. I had the Original Ravs and they were fabulous! My husband is not a fan of mushrooms, but he said he would get something with the "gravy" next time. He enjoyed his meal as well.
Service fell apart even though we got there at 6pm and tried to wrap up by 7:15.....big lulls in server check ins and just overall lacking of attentiveness.
It was the first time we went to Capisce's. My husband got the pasta trio and enjoyed the Pesto Chicken and Original Rav's, but the lasagna was just okay. I ordered the Lobster pasta dish and the lobster was chewy. I wouldn't order that again, but the Rav's were incredible.
5 of us enjoyed a lovely meal- all orders got a big thumbs up. Service was really good. Our birthday girl got a special treat and a serenade by the staff
Excellent birthday dinner with a very attentive bartender and waitress. The food is out of this world. We would recommend Capisce to all our friends.
We've been searching for some authentic Italian food in the area and, while there are some good options, this one was really tasty. My husband had the lasagna and I had the lobster pasta and we were both very happy with our selections. Our server was super attentive without being obnoxious and we really enjoyed our evening there. Would definitely recommend.
This is my second time at this restaurant The first time the service was awful but food very good. It was my sons birthday so we decided to try it again. Same thing. There was only two other tables occupied!! They only have one waiter which causes delays in getting anything within a reasonable time. Won't go back.
