I would dine at the Canyon Grille only out of convenience. We were going to see a show at the Welk Theater, so it "made sense" to meet here for a bite to eat beforehand. It was just meh (mediocre.) The food was good. Not bad, not great. The server was very nice but not near attentive enough. The ambience is fine. Overall, it's "fine." It's a perfectly fine place to grab a bite to eat. But nothing to go out of your way for.

Service was very slow. One dinner sent back and took so long to come we gave up on it.

They are very conveniently located on the Welk Resort property so if you just want to relax this is the place. The menu s a bit limited, the upside is that they do offer a few "a la cart" items, and offer a full bar; their bartender Casey was great! Outdoor seating is also available. Overall we had a very nice relaxing evening. They are located in the Village and after dinner you can take a walk or sit and enjoy the many outdoor fire pits available.

We made a 5 pm reservation since we were going to the 7 pm evening show and wanted to be sure we had time to have a relaxing dinner. When the 2 of us arrived, there were 2 people in front of us without a reservation who he seemed to know. They were seated along the window toward the middle of the restaurant. When the gentleman came back for us, we told him our name and said we had a reservation. He didn't seem interested in our reservation and brought us to the very first table on the right which is near the busy hostess desk and within 5 feet of the noisy bar. The restaurant had only 6 tables with diners when we were seated, so it isn't as if space was a premium. When he asked if this would be ok, we responded not really. He then took us into the restaurant and sat us at a better seat along the window. We thought that if you go to the trouble of making a reservation, then a premium table would have been set aside for you. Our waitress was good, but as the evening progress and the place filled up with other theater going patrons, she was clearly in need of some assistance. Our food, which was good and plated nicely, was very slow in coming out of the kitchen and we were told that was because of the large crowd. Somehow I think they know the restaurant will be crowded on theater evenings and should plan accordingly. We had to ASK if there was a dessert menu. No, but she would check to see what was available today. There were only 2 options, so why didn't she just know that instead of having to go back to the kitchen to find out? We had to wait quite awhile for our bill. It took 1 hr. and 40 minutes for your dinner that evening. So glad we gave ourselves some extra time. It seems to us that the staff needs some additional training on how to make the dining experience better at the Welk Resort.

2nd visit to the Canyon Grille and it did not disappoint, the food is good value and very tasty and the service was great with very friendly staff.

The sea bass on the menu says it’s grilled and fresh but it was breaded- they were happy to change it to the salmon, which took a while- the sauce was from a can and the rice was warmed up - it’s badicallly frozen food heated up. And not great.

We were seated right away and it was not busy at all as we were told by the hostess. We sat at our table for twenty minutes and no one acknowledged our existence. Sadly we left and had to venture out of the resort to find a restaurant. Hopefully we'll have a better experience on our next visit to the resort.

We booked a reservation here as we were going to see the show at the resort. Met my sister and her boyfriend there for dinner, everything was delicious, no complaints from anybody in the group, all were happy with what they had. I got the salmon, it was fantastic, with the rice, chutney, and spinach, all cooked perfectly.

Upscale prices for a pedestrian experience. The restaurant layout is odd, and sort of feels like you’re sitting in a hallway. This is the “nice” hotel restaurant ar the Welk resort (the one you are forced to for dinner because everything else closes at 4:00), but does not stack up to other upscale hotel restaurants. Also, it was FREEZING.

Came for lunch before our show like we normally do. Food was good as always. Service was a little slower than normal but that would mainly be because there were a bunch of groups who made everything difficult for the servers with separate checks and then moving items from one bill to another and then questioning the server for everything on the bill.

Actually, my review is mixed. I was one of a group of 6; half liked our choice, the other half didn't. The Reuben and the Mushroom Burger were very good. Three in the group chose the chicken sandwich and it was only mediocre - the bread was hard, the chicken was dry and there was not much flavor.

We were celebrating a birthday & planned The Canyon Grille for dinner & Menopause for our entertainment. Clearly many others were also doing the same

Our server, Brenda, was quite nice. But clearly had a big rush before we arrived and was sat with multiple tables when we arrived. She really could have used an extra set of hands but it was busy she was on her own

She took time to answer our questions, which was awesome. But she was in the weeds and when she went into the back for any table, she evaporated for long periods. I know that she was busy but someone should have stepped in and helped her out.

All of the food was very good which was really nice. One ordered a second beer, which came long after we all finished eating and were boxing leftovers. When we asked to just cancel it, she told us that we could take the beer as it was on the resort. We didn’t really want to but didn’t want to rock the boat.

She delivered our check but we hadn’t yet had any offer of dessert and we had to remind her that we had a birthday. It should have been clear to her as we noted it when we made our reservation and confirmed with the hostess.

The delivered check was incorrect. We didn’t know that after she dropped the check, she had gone back for the birthday item. She was gone for some time. We waited for her return but were concerned that our correct check would be delivered to a different table, paid and cause an even longer wait time while it got sorted out. We asked a busboy to see if he might be able to get our check just so there was no issues. He did quickly.

During this wait, our birthday girl had to use the washroom. This is when the birthday brownie was delivered. :( It really should have been taken back and then brought back out when the birthday girl came back. But...we were already running late as we still needed to change into warmer clothes before going into the theater (we had come from a day outside to dinner with the intention of changing)
