As reported before to Open Table - I arrived at restaurant at time of our reservation. A sign on restaurant door said 'Ceased Operations'.

Cantina Nueva was worth trying out but I'll likely not go again. The menu made the food seem more interesting than it actually was. The chicken mole enchiladas were very tasty and the refritos and rice were better than most, but really just the same old thing. Corn cakes are on the menu, why not use that as the main side or give people options. Or create really unique sides that aren't served in every other Mexican/southwestern restaurant. The pork belly tacos were just okay, again more promise than reality. Quality good but could have been more flavorful and pork belly rendered better. The Silver Coin was a very good margarita. Given there are several offerings that people may not be familiar with, like jack fruit tacos, why not let diners mix and match to get an idea of what they like. I would love to try jack fruit, but not if I have to purchase all three the same.

Always great food! If you’re looking for hot chile, 9/10 times you’re in the right place. The chicken stuffed chile rellenos are delicious!

We arrived for our 7:30 reservation and our table was already set up and waiting for our group of 5. The hostess was very friendly and greeted us with a big smile. At first, we were seated in the restaurant we had a difficult time hearing each other because it was extremely loud. We asked to move outside to the patio and the manager and staff were very accommodating, even though there was not a table large enough to seat us. They joined a couple of tables together to fit our group and it worked perfectly. The wait staff was very professional and friendly and the food quality was great. The only suggestions I would make is to install some sound panels to control the loudness and place some type of decorations on the wall to give the restaurant a cozier feel, it feels very cold (not temperature) and sterile, not homey. Overall, excellent experience!

Their gluten-free labels are inaccurate. Be sure to ask the server to check with the cook staff.

We were looking forward to our dinner there. Like the concept. But it clearly is going thru it’s start up phase. Drinks were excellent. Food was so, so. The wait staff were energetic but seemed to be learning as they went. We were looking forward to the street tacos. Disappointed that a person could not order a mix of tacos. Server explained it was too hard to do..??? We’ll probably try again after a few months after they get their act together both on operation and food. In the meantime it’s a good place for a margarita.

I ordered avocado toast ($13) from the appetizer menu and a crab/lobster taco. The appetizer was the meal. The taco tasted good, but for $9 the size of the taco was 2.5 inches. 3 tacos for $10-13 would've been more worth it. My husband ordered the mole enchiladas. A great taste and meal size. The only reason The dessert Chimis were delicious I gave 4 stars over 5 was the taco size and prices.

The food was very good but waiting more than an hour, when it was obviously a slow Sunday evening was very disappointing. The kitchen even shut down equipment so we couldn’t get our free sopaipillas added insult to a birthday dinner.
