Cantina Mercatto reinvents the underground wine cellar, inspired by sprawling vineyards and coastal Italian resorts. Cantina’s menu speaks to the continued evolution of both the traditional and familiar, paired with creative libations, classic cocktails and a curated mix of flowing wines.

On the menu you’ll find everything from meat and cheese plates to appetizers, pizza, pasta dishes, and more. Share a salumi & formaggi board with a group of friends and family. Enjoy classic appetizers like Calamari Fritti, Arancini and Beef Carpaccio. Choose your favorite pasta dish, including Ricotta Agnolotti, Rigatoni alla Bolognese and Linguini di Mare or indulge in a fish, chicken or beef entrée such as Polla alla Diavola, Arctic Char and Prime Striploin.

                                                                                        Food was made perfectly, everything came super fast and hot. For the price, the portions were great and filling. Excellent service from the staff.

                                                                                        Really lovely meall from the apps (excellent oysters and olives) to the pizza (just like Italy!) to dessert (tiramisu and great cappuccino). Terrific service. We ate outside, as nice as it could be on a Toronto sidewalk. Reasonable prices. We will be back!

                                                                                        The venue is beautiful and the staff are so lovely. We really enjoyed our waiter. I don’t think the pizza was worth the hype. The sauce is quite acidic and bland and the pizza didn’t have a ton of flavour. The aoli was delicious. I also had the beet and kale salad. It was salty and not full of flavour but it was still refreshing. I actually added a little bit of the aoli to both the pizza and the salad and it made it much better.

                                                                                        I've been twice in short succession. I came for lunch during the week and it was great. I had the arancini (thumbs up!) and the ricotta gnocchi. Also delicious. It was tender pillows of gnocchi in a chunky tomato sauce with a mound of ricotta on top. I was there for dinner on the weekend and it was equally good. We shared the beet ricotta salad. It had a nice lemony dressing. I tried the prosciutto pizza this time and I was also pleased. It has a nice chewy crust. For dessert I had the tiramisu. My friend had the lemon tart (no crumbs were left) and my other friend had the affogato. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I would recommend. Good food, good value, good negronis ... :)

                                                                                        The food was very tasty, however we had to wait a very long time for service at each stage of our meal. Considering the restaurant was almost empty and there was plenty of wait staff it was very frustrating. Also, the cocktail my friend ordered was almost completely ice. For $20 you'd think they would be less stingy. I don't think I would choose to come here again when there are so many other options in the area.
