Great experience beginning to end. Wonderful fusion of flavors. Will be back!
Great food! Great vegan menu
Love the vibe!
Service was spotty and bill messed up but will return
It was our anniversary and they gave us a table at the end underneath a tent that was a really nice and thoughtful touch.
Was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Thanks Brandon our waiter
We go to campfire every time we visit San Diego. Consistently fantastic food, cocktails and service. A great spot for an occasion!
Celebration dinner for my son’s graduation from UCSD. First time at Campfire and it was awesome! I wish this restaurant was in my home town.
It was our first time there. We understand it was a mew chef and new menu. We thought the food was delicious, our server was wonderful. We will be back for sure and recommend it to our frienfs
Amazing service and ambience. Cocktails are also top rate. The starters and share plates outshine the entrees, IMHO. If we were to go back, we’d just share more small plates as those were more interesting and flavorful. And, despite being resistant to the idea because it seemed a bit kitschy, the s’mores are absolutely worth it and amazing!!!
Jason was outstanding! The food was delicious and our overall experience was fabulous! We’re looking forward to going back!
Our second time here and it is definitely our go to place when we come down to visit our son. Great ambience, great service, awesome food!
Wonderful service, ambiance, and food! We had such a great time!
Fabulous ! The staff the food... the lambs head and grilled mushroom
Come on ! Amazing!
The drinks very F U N
I didn’t say it was a special
Occasion and they made it special as if I had . the hostess manager is a doll because she was aware of every thing . I truly wish all places were as upbeat and professional as campfire ! I’d recommend Campfire to the pickiest diner!
Amazing experience!! Food was phenomenal. Elias our server, explained how we should order to enjoy the experience and he wasn’t wrong! You can taste and feel the love that goes into the food. Thank you
Creative menu items, but I wasn’t blown away by the taste of the food itself. Great ambiance and very good cocktails.
Our entire experience here from start to finish was impeccable. The staff, the food, the atmosphere was wonderfully thoughtful and we had a great anniversary. Everyone wished us a happy anniversary upon arrival and a thoughtful signed card from every single staff member was on our table waiting for us. This is such a unique place where they take such pride in every detail and it shows. We will be back! Thank you for a lovely anniversary dinner.
Campfire is OUTSTANDING! Long list of unique and delicious cocktails - best anywhere hands down. We had a tapas-type dinner with most of the Kindling (appetizers) - each one better than the next, several of the vegetables and the chicken. Incredible flavors, presentation, service - thanks Beth! Can’t wait to return.
We had always enjoyed all our visits to campfire previous to this one. The food/ drinks were only okay and in the past we really enjoyed it. We were seated but were not acknowledged until 30 minutes after that. While unusually don’t complain about being sat at a picnic bench at campfire because that’s part of the decor we were placed at a picnic bench for way too long and most of our party was uncomfortable after about an hour. They also had heat lamps right over head and it was just uncomfortable. We took turns taking breaks so we could go out front and cool off.
Our entree came out 10 min before our guests so they just watched us eat. The menu was explained too in depth and they’ll no longer be dog friendly. Could have been better. I expected perfection based on reviews. It was great but it wasn’t amazing. Few key misses like timing of entrees, lack of explanation of dishes until they arrived and a couple of others.
I came to Campfire a few weeks ago with some of my girl friends and we had such a great time. The food was tasty, yet pricey. I wanted to bring my husband since I thought he would love it. The food was not as good this time. They changed the epic broccoli and it wasnt as good!!! Still good, just not AS good. We had 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, and entree and a veggie side. Our bill was $100. We made our reservation VERY last minute and the table was kind of just stuck outside in the side yard, not ideal. The service was impeccable and food was tasty, just not as good as I had remembered and a bit pricey. Make your reservations early and plan to spend some bucks. Also, heres a tip...if you buy a bottle of wine at the winery next door Campfire will cork it for free since they have a relationship.
Amazing food and service. We are not locals and could not resist the reviews. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. The food was amazing; the duck with the mushroom cornbread was like nothing we have had and just blew our mind. The s'mores were a great ending to the night. When we come back, we will definitely visit again
Cool ambiance, decent service and food. However, our experience was ruined by the portion sizes. The prices are highway robbery for what you get. We spent over $100 and had to make food when we got home because we were still hungry. This place prices and plates their food like a Michelin star restaurant. A couple decent bites for $15-20+. Two thumbs down.
It was great! The beet drink is still available, even though it’s not on the menu😉
Had the grouper, which was excellent. I was a little underwhelmed by the crudo, but the short rib made up for it.
Overall we had a great time at CampFire. The appetizers were all good except the roasted broccoli was undercooked-a little crunchy.
The service was a bit slow, but this could be due to Covid & restaurants are understaffed.
Campfire was amazing! Brilliant food, creative design and skilled execution. Expensive but in my view well worth the price. Wait staff were professional but relaxed/personable. Favorite dish? Grilled maitake mushrooms, corn in multiple ways. Lovely dish.
Last night was our first time at the restaurant. I heard so many good things about Campfire that maybe my expectations were too high. I was disappointed by the overall quality of the food even though some dishes are very good. One advice: don’t order the Grouper . It is tasteless. We loved the ambiance and the service!
Our server, Roman, gave us excellent suggestions, time to talk, and generally did not steer us wrong food-wise. Everything was delicious: The broccoli starter, veggie sides of beans and mushrooms, beef rib, and grouper. We got the fun s’mores dessert and they gave us a complimentary berries with mascarpone in honor of our anniversary. It was jaw-droppings good.
Novel mixtures but the four of us were underwhelmed. Needing a knife to cut my grouper was a first.
We had an amazing experience. The Bartender, Ethan, was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. A member of our group has Celiacs disease and he went out of his way to consult the menu to help avoid allergies. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as well. The food was incredible. Our favorite place in Carlsbad 💙
This was our 4th visit to Campfire, and honestly, it was underwhelming. We went a couple times pre-pandemic and it was a bit better. The food was expensive for the small amount they give you. You have to order sides to go with your meal. Three of us in our party f 6 had the beef ribs which were rather fatty. The iron steak was small. The duck was good, but again they could have added a 3rd slice. The s'mores and drinks were the best part of the meal. We probably won't be going back soon. I don't get why it's booked up 2-3 weeks in advance on weekends.
Good food good vibes
A miss! Interesting theme and model but doesn't live up to expectations. Food marginal and presentation disappointing.
Outstanding.. campfire could be located in any city around the world and it would succeed. Great job guys!!!
New chef and new menu. Food is good, but we missed our old favorites. Will give it a month or two before we go back to see what new items that keep, and what might return.
New menu, new chef. Smaller amount of food for same price. No more special broccoli.
Amazing service as always
Late spring menu was amazing and the service was fantastic as always. Campfire is a must-visit for anyone looking for an excellent dining experience.
Great food, great ambiance! Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with menu choices. Overall it was very accommodating to our group's specific questions and needs. Worth a visit!
Excellent meal. The best we have had in a long time. I am vegan and they had some incredible options.
Really amazing food! The duck was cooked perfectly and I’d highly recommend ordering the s’mores for dessert! We tried a bit of every vegetable dish and the peaches were my favorite.
