Great creativity on the food. Energetic and friendly service. Great experience!
Great food. Roasted broccoli is a must. Make sure to have a reservation as there was a long wait.
We are foodies and although the dishes were in most cases tasty, the portions are very small and expensive... they say they are shareable sizes but in reality it’s hardly enough for one person. Overall I wasn’t so impressed. Pricey and not as good as I had hoped. Go to the Land and Water Company if you want a really yummy foodie meal in Carlsbad.
My boyfriend and I have been making the effort to not go out to each as much, but this place is one of our very few exceptions. I don’t even know where to start to describe how much we love campfire. The atmosphere is so cozy, the cocktails are unique and delicious and we both agree that the food is some of the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Service has always been great as well, and the best part is that they’re always so accommodating of our dog when we bring him. Perfect spot for a date night, or if you’re just looking for a cool place to grab food/drinks with some friends. Highly highly recommended!
First time at Campfire and I'm so sorry we waited so long! It's an intriguing menu that changes seasonally and uses locally sourced ingredients. I was most impressed with our waitperson who was very knowledgeable and really knew the menu. She recommended great pre-dinner specialty cocktails that we really enjoyed.
I was most interested in the vegetables and after talking with the waitperson I ordered the beets and the whole roasted broccoli. Both were so complex in flavors and ingredients and really amazing. The other person in our party had the seafood pozole which he pronounced to be exceptional.
The night ended with s'mores which was really fun and delicious too. They bring you a little brasier of glowing coals and you roast the homemade marshmallows on a stick before slapping it between homemade graham crackers and a hunk of good chocolate.
We will definitely be back often now that we know how fabulous this place is.
What a refreshingly different restaurant with an open, airy feel and tempting aromas of roasting food. The service was great. Our server knew the menu very well, had a love of the food she was describing and did it thoughtfully. The flavors were amazing! We had a wonderful non-alcoholic beverage that was also amazing. It was a seltzer with the perfect blend of tart, tangy and sweet, served in a tall glass and 2 flowers in it. I WILL be coming back again and again and will have that tasty beverage again. Recommend highly! Bring your family, friends, out-of-town guests!
It was an amazing experience from start to end. Our server was so attentive and made great recommendations. The food was so tasteful and delicious. My husband enjoyed every bit of his birthday dinner.
The whole experience was excellent. Drinks were quite satisfying and all the food was delicious. Try the roasted beet salad.
Just wasn’t as good as our first visit - food was very mixed - some amazing - some only ok - not sure we’d go back a 3rd time sadly
A great place to share a meal in.. Highly recommend!!
I love campfire! The menu is great and so are the drinks! Definitely different so if you are looking for a traditional menu and drinks this isn’t the place for you but I love
Service was great and not to mention the food was very tasty. I had the American Wagyu medium rare and Wedge Salad and it was delicious. Will be going back.
Took our family there for a combined birthday celebration. Had the campfire feast. Wow, 8 courses of seafood and meat followed by sorbet and chocolate cake. Topped it all off with some great smores! Also yummy creative drink menu. Will go back when my stomach can take it.
So great!! Inside is super cute and homey. Food is delicious. Only thing I would say is broccoli had too much sauce
Spectacular food and service. Consistently amazed by this place.
Unique and fun eatery with a creative and delicious menu. All five of us enjoyed it immensely..... ready to go back!
Such a gem of a restaurant. This place is the kind of spot where people make memories. Food is unique and a bit weird in all the right ways. Service is solid and easy going. I have nothing but good things to say about Campfire.
New Years Eve
Visiting from Austin Texas and had a great time. Would recommend Campfire.
Delightful experience, food was delicious!
Delicious food, and fun atmosphere. The ceviche and broccoli are amazing!
More hype than delivered. The only played we enjoyed was the broccoli. Many of the other entree dishes don’t need to be cooked over an open fire.
Brunch was yummy although the portions were small. The salad with brunch entree was tiny. Service was great by Maya.
Worth the wait
Eclectic menu with creative and tasty food
Everything was just fantastic.
Food was delicious. The service was wonderful, very accommodating.
Tapas style plates of veg forward deliciousness: the Beet cocktail was outstanding. I could snack away here all night is I won the lottery :-)
Very good! The concept is unique and appealing. We are a family of 6 and enjoyed our dinner. This restaurant offers small tasting dishes offered through a small plate concept. We ordered several small plates to share and 3 entrees we also shared. Steak, chicken and fish! All very good and presented nicely. To top it off excellent s’mores with homemade graham crackers. Chocolate and home made marshmallows! Yum we will returns!
The food was a bit disappointing. For example I ordered a meat pie which only had 4 pieces of fatty meat and the rest was potatoes and vegetables. Other than the food, the service and atmosphere was good.
Food was great. Too bad the octopus isn’t on the menu anymore.
Campfire is tons of fun for all combinations of groups, and for a mix of people who want fish and/or meat, with many excellent and creative all veggie options, too. Our group of 6 ordered about 8 of the veggie dishes and loved every one of them!
Ambiance, food, drinks, service ALL OUTSTANDING! Campfire's broccoli dish is probably the best darn head of broccoli I have had in my life. The cocktails are definitely memorable and every dish that we ordered have become a favorite. We are now looking for any reason to go back down to SD to eat at Campfire!
Exceptional food and service...this was a great dining experience! Loved the chef's selection as each dish was a delicious surprise and our server Roman was friendly, efficient and helpful! Loved campfire for a romantic dinner and would also love to bring a group a friends here. Campfire is a terrific addition to restaurant dining in downtown Carlsbad!
The campfire feast is worth every penny! The cocktails are amazing and the best in town!
Great time at Campfire--all dishes were excellent--we had the whole fish, cod, lamb sausage and wagyu steak, portion sizes for the non-fish items were small, but delicious. 4 vs. 5 stars for that as some might be surprised based on the cost.
This is the 3rd or 4th time we have been to Campfire and it just keeps getting better and better. The meal was fantastic and the service exactly what we have come to expect - superb. This was the first time we were seated outside and it is a really nice atmosphere. The noise level is much lower than inside and you can actually carry on a conversation in a group. There were 7 of us at our table and we had no problem hearing everyone. One thing to note - if you request a table outside, ask for one on the alley at the side of the building. In the evening in the winter the table outside at the front of the restaurant is a very unwelcoming place to be seated.
We went for our anniversary and it was fabulous
Absolutely delicious!! can't wait to go back! I am a foodie and the dishes here are very creative and every single item we ordered went beyond our expectations. The cocktails don't even feel like cocktails, they are so refreshing and made with love
