As a professional chef, gourmand and overall food lover, we enjoyed the presentation, tastes and variety of choices at Camacho. We will definitely return.
We were a bit disappointed , however, in the lack of check in from our server, who was great when he was attentive, but we needed just a little more. Especially as we were not happy with one of our items and as he did not appear until wrapping things up, it was too late to resolve the matter.
We loved the architecture, the physical environment, the music, the food.
We do not love your chairs, very uncomfortable!
The service was fast, even on a busy Sunday at lunchtime. I've eaten here before, and thought I'd try it again as a place to take a friend for her birthday. We liked many things: the street corn, the esquites tlayuda, each of which we shared, and enjoyed immensely. We also ordered the croquetas de jaiba and the fish taco. The croquetas were a bit of a disappointment: they seemed overcooked, and the oily crust overwhelmed the more delicate contents. The fish taco was also disappointing: the construction did not invite eating by hand, and the accompaniments ON the taco were way to wait to do so even if one were to try. Lastly: the waitstaff should alert the customer that the cold-brew coffee is "nitro," which is not the same, and not preferred by everyone.
Reservations are a must. The ambiance is super chill and the staff are really friendly. Our waitress Adrienne knew all of the specials and answered every questioned we had without hesitation. Food was delicious and the spicy margarita was so good.
The food and service were terrific. The crowd was mixed and lively.
Great Food and cocktails. Nice covered outdoor dining experience.
The vibe and service were great, but the food missed for us. The shrimp and cocktail ceviches were lacking a lot of acid, which is the major component of a ceviche. Meat was generally oversalted in the tacos and quesadilla, and the birria consume was lacking depth in flavor. The curly fries were great but it’s a Mexican street food place and the fact that this was our favorite dish was a bit disappointing. Likely won’t go back unfortunately.
Everything was amazing
Wonderful space and nice staff. The vegetarian dishes I tried were all very oily for my tastes though I’d go again and try the naked taco option.
The guacamole was outstanding and quite a good sized serving. It was a pleasure to be able to sit outside; even though it is a busy street, the traffic noise was not terribly distracting. Music playing in the restaurant easily allowed for conversation. We did find the fish tacos to be a bit small and containing way too much onion. We were a bit disappointed at the number of lunch options available for non-meat eaters. Overall, a good and tasty experience...
Really good latin style cuisine in an energetic hip setting. Fun for a date night.
Dayana and Sam were awesomeeeeeee!!!!!! Give them a pay raise! I would like more than two barria tacos
I felt like my waitress was too focused on my date where the iContact lead only to that person instead of both of us which we were customers both of us not just one and she got my drink incorrect
Great place. Open space, diverse crowd, very good food and drinks
Reserve well ahead of time, especially on the weekend
The staff is amazing! The food is amazing! It’s nice to see Chef going to tables. Our favorite date night spot!
Food and service were great. Place a bit noisy for me but good for the younger crowd
The food phenomenal!!! The music was a little too loud and hard to chat because of it. Will be back nonetheless. Delicious and good value.
Excellent food. Service a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry.
Love love love it here…. The food is amazing. The drinks are delicious. The vibe and ambiance is perfect whether you eat inside or outside. The staff are always friendly, professional, attentive, and provides good service.
Excellent! Food was awesome….service was beyond awesome (Sarah) and the atmosphere is different and cool.
Can’t wait to go back again!
Delicious food, great service and fun vibe! Would definitely recommend
Great atmosphere, wonderful food, and great service! First time there and were surprised to find out it is owned by same people who own Shell and Bones. That explains a lot! Parking can be difficult but there is a public lot on Whalley (with free EV chargers) within a 5 minute walk.
Highly recommend and will be going back soon!
Dinner was absolutely amazing. We shared the chicken and fish tacos which were to die for and of course ended with the most delectable churros to finish. We can’t wait to go back.
The place was outstanding. Service by Julio phenomenal. Only negative: noise was exceedingly loud.
love it there i can go everyday if i could lol everyone is so nice and very welcoming
I was expecting much more based on how popular the place is.
Good was fabulous, very authentic and so delicious. Service was ok we did feel forgotten a few times.
great food, great atmosphere.. everything that Chef Franco creates is gold. This makes me miss Roomba just a little bit less.
We had one of their family style meals. The food was excellent. Great mix of spicy and savory. Plus eating family style was fun. Only downside might be that their delicious drinks are kind of small and expensive.
Camacho Garage is the place to be in Westville for the very best drinks and Mexican food. Their outdoor seating is absolutely fantastic in the summer.
Excellent food, great service, but too noisy!
Absolutely fantastic place with a great energy and outstanding food
The food was delicious and well-times and the service was excellent. It was a little too noisy, certainly inside and even outside, though it seemed to get quieter as dinner progressed.
We dnt eat mushrooms told waitress & are quéso blanco still had some in it & my husbands quesadilla also had some when we told her & they came out with his desert while we was still eating when I told them after dinner with a candle since it was his bday had to tell the waitress not now plus it dnt have a candle! Besides tht everything else was great! Will definitely good back! Just no mushrooms pleaseee!
Casual, good vibe in restaurant. Food was great but pricey with slow service.
Fabulous watermelon sorbet!!
Fantastic food and drink with energetic and attentive service in a cool space (indoor/outdoor). I’ll be back soon!
Food was ok. Some of the dishes have changed so I was a little confused when we got our food. What I found to be weird was I asked for a larger margarita....so basically a bigger glass which literally every place in the universe will do for an up charge. I was told “no we can’t do that”. I mean technically you can do it you should just say you won’t. I didn’t mind paying an up charge for the drink but being told no for basically no reason was annoying. A lot of times drinks have to much mixer or are to sweet, this is what I was trying to avoid but apparently they won’t make accommodations here. They wanted you to order another drink so they can make more money which makes no sense because you would still make more money by up charging. Honestly service has been a issue here the times I’ve been here. It takes forever for someone to come take your order and last time we waited almost 15 min just for drinks. Food comes out fast is is just “ok”. I’ll spend my money on closer places downtown if it means better service.
The patio, margaritas, tacos and service were amazing! Best Tacos I’ve had in CT (and I’m originally from TX, so I know a good taco :)! )
I absolutely loved this place. Food was delicious. The service was great.
The food was loaded with MSG which made me and my friends sick. For the second time in a row. Please do something about this as I won’t be able to eat there anymore and will make it a point to alert others with chemical sensitivity’s that they should avoid this restaurant.
Otherwise the staff and atmosphere are great!
