   We were surprised to find that, for a busy Friday night in central Edinburgh, the place was very quiet. Only two other tables of two. We were a noisy party of six and realised we had taken over the place! Caffe Centro feels very authentically Italian ... and is, as the name suggests, more cafe than restaurant. However the staff were great, the typically Italian food was REALLY excellent - proper home cooking. Bar stock, and wine list also pretty good. We were each given a Limoncello, on the house, at the end of our dinner, which was a lovely touch. Our group hadn't planned to 'make a night of it ' as had early plans for the next morning, but just as well, as the place was closing at ten and it did become obvious that the staff were keen to get away home! We loved our time there, and will definitely return. We would also recommend it as a good, city centre venue... but would stress the 'caffe' part - a plush restaurant it isn't, but we did feel we had just spent a few hours in Italy! 🇮🇹

   Great meal and very big portions. The service was great with very friendly and efficient waiters. Would definitely revisit this restaurant and recommend it to others.

   Really enjoyed our dinner. Service was very friendly if a bit sparse. Very good wine list with something for everyone. The only food I did not enjoy was the stuffed cabbage leaf served with the beef cheeks ( themselves delicious)...it didn't taste like much beyond steamed cabbage. Overall. Had a great time and found a quaint restaurant off the beaten path for a tourist.

   Caffe Centro in Edinburgh's George Street is a small, friendly restaurant with really good food, terrific service and reasonably priced. We are regular visitors, generally for lunch when we visit Edinburgh. A little gem.

   Girls get together and we all left more than satisfied, portions were a bit on the large side needless to say all bar one of us still cleared their plates. Only gripe we had was hot food on cold plates but other wise no complaints from us. A huge thank you for the complimentary lemon cello.
