Early Father’s Day celebration
Nice view on the patio and the service was great.
The food was great server was amazing !
Fun time to celebrate our grad !
Graduation celebration. Very good and friendly service.
Excellent service and meal during busy graduation weekend.
Best shrimp I have had had in years! Food for each of us in our group was excellent, but I think, like so many service businesses recovering from the staffing shortages due to Covid, our server had too many tables to keep up. My coffee arrived after desert, when it was ordered before desert, as an example... I have been here before, and I will return, so overall it was a very pleasant evening!
Had the short ribs which were excellent and the pasta de zucca (good but the sauce was a bit thick. Love this restaurant and would certainly come back. Great wine list. Excellent staff. It was graduation night and so lots of people which is great to see after a year of COVID restrictions. However, it was a bit "noisy" . Still love to see everyobe back.
Overall a nice experience with good food. You may want to add a larger olive/ onion to your martinis. Onion did not taste good and was super small.
Patio dining is quiet and relaxing. The staff is friendly and attentive. And the food is fabulous. We used to dine here regularly before we moved to Seattle and after a 25 year gap, it was just as good as we remembered! Glad to hear that Mama still keeps her hand in!! XO
This was our second time visiting Cafe Roma and it was just as good as the first. Friendly and courteous servers and staff, and the food was delicious. Fresh homemade pasta in the lasagna was an unexpected surprise. The bucatini carbonara was also delicious.
Everything was amazing! The food, the atmosphere and the service!
Dinner with family
The food is always great here - service was a little slow and some requests were missed, but this was the first busy weekend of the summer and the dining room had just reopened for the first time in a year. Always a pleasure eating here and have never been disappointed - seasonal specials are a unique and delicious experience.
We ate outside under a heater. It was very comfortable. I had the squash ravs, husband had the fish special and friend had the capillini pasta with a fresh tomato sauce. All three dishes were excellent as usual. Everything came out to us pipping hot. Wonderful meal as usual. Thank you, Rizzo family.
Great food and wine made up for being stuck in a dark corner away from every sense of ambience this restaurant typically has. The Filet Mignon in its Cabernet reduction was delicious and prepared to the right temperature. The Teroldego wine was a pleasant surprise and paired well with the filet.
Overall it was a great , the server,David was excellent.
Good food and service! We made reservation and only waited couple minutes to get seated.
Cafe Roma continues to be THE place to get Italian food in SLO. While the tables are distanced because of pandemic restrictions, the place was packed on Friday night. People are so eager to go to their favorite places, and for us, this was #1 on our list.
Always good and the historic "go to" restaurant in SLO. Being in business 40+ years and owned by the same family is a testament to the quality.
Excellent food and service.
Good was mediocre but the service was exceptionally good.
Cafe Roma has long been my standard for what Italian food should be. It is so good to see that they are still in business after so many years. The canneloni and lasagna are perfect. "Simple" prosciutto and burrata perfect. Excellent service, good wine selections.
Went to Cafe Roma on Mother’s Day for dinner and we had such a good time. The owners - brothers Mario and Sato were so friendly and made us feel so welcomed. The patio was very comfortable and the food was great. Tender Halibut in light tomato caper sauce and homemade pasta were both perfect. Even the bread was especially fresh. We can’t wait to go back.
Food was great, service was fantastic. We cannot wait to go back.
Just a lovely place for a family dinner, date night, or slightly fancier meal. Good traditional food and excellent, friendly service.
My favorite restaurant in all of SLO County and has been since it first opened in 1980!
My meal was better than any I have had even better than my own cooking!
Great service, great atmosphere, great food, Enjoyed every second!
My partner’s 50th birthday!
Great Italian restaurant in SLO, just across from train station. I liked the relaxed vibe, away from lots of the crowd downtown. The food was great. Our party had the beet salad, which featured generous slices of red and orange beets over butter lettuce, the calamari appetizer, which was perfectly crisp and generously portioned, halibut nicely served with a red sauce, oso bucco, and lamb shank. The latter was deliciously prepared. All were in generous portions. Tuesday is half price wine night, so we ended up ordering 2 bottles from an already reasonably-priced list with well thought-out local Central Coast and Italian wines. Our server was friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient. Can't wait to go back again.
Delicious food and reasonably priced. Tuesday 1/2 price wine by the bottle deal is great.
Our server was wonderful! She was very helpful and very funny. We had a great time!
Really enjoyed Cafe Roma. Extensive menu and everything our party of four ordered was excellent. Warm, friendly staff with good ambiance. The only knock that any of our group had was that COVID mask compliance among multiple staff members was poor, notably less than other area restaurants, and because it was widespread, we had to assume there is lax staff culture regarding COVID. This issue bothered some in our party, although we were all vaccinated and thoroughly liked everything else.
Food always great every time I come here. Too bad on this occasion with a room that wasnt busy we had to wait a long time for food and had starving kids (40 min wait).
Cafe Roma is my favorite Italian restaurant in San Luis Obispo. The food is always amazing and the service is wonderful. Any food on their menu is delicious and very filling!
Taking our 22 year old son out for birthday dinner. Our only issue was that once we were seated, we didn’t get service for approximately 20 minutes. The server indicated there was a miscommunication and was apologetic. Other than that, it was a great meal experience.
We had a wonderful meal at Cafe Roma and the waiter and owner were so friendly. We’ll surely visit again the next we visit SLO.
This is a charming restaurant with a positive staff but sadly it seems like no one is tasting the food or checking to make sure food is prepared well before serving it. Broccoli was so under cooked that even the use of a steak knife with pressure did not dent it and the pasta dish was so “a la dente” it was hard to chew.
We wanted to love this restaurant because it has so much charter and the menu looked good but things did not seem to be prepared well.
