This place is a gem. The chef is very talented. The pickled beet salad was probably the best beet salad I've ever had. It was a perfect blend of flavors. I think the key that they pickle the beets and keep the pieces small so the beet flavor doesn't overwhelm everything else. The pork belly burnt ends were perfectly done--crispy, creamy and savory. We couldn't eat them all but had them for breakfast next day. Yum! The zen bowl was also amazing. I find it's risky to order this type of dish because they're often bland and uninspired steamed rice and veggie affairs that are just on the menu to check a box. But here, the flavor combos were exciting. Each element was elevated so it was delicious on its own, but then also combined with each of the other elements. In my opinion, that's what makes an excellent bowl--the continued surprise of mixing and matching and discovering new flavors. The chef nailed it. The only place they could do better is on the focaccia bread. Huge points on the board for making it fresh, bringing it to the table hot, and baking in all those herbs to make it super flavorful. Why not serve with a side of olive oil for dipping, especially since there are so many delicious locally made olive oils available?

Where to start? I recommend a bottle of Riesling, followed by the Chef's choice in appetizer, then either have the Chicken Marsala, Spicy Pork Linguine, or the homemade Gnocchi dish- all are divine!

This is a small venue with excellent food, varied menu and exemplary service. We have never been disappointed and have dined here multiple times. It is a bit noisy but definitely worth a try if you're looking for a more upscale experience.

We are so happy to have found this spot! This will definitely be our go-to whenever we are in the area. We had a 6 pm reservation but had finished our previous plans earlier and they were able to seat us at 5 pm. Be sure you get a reservation, though, because they were very full. There were not a lot of tables, but the perfect amount for this husband and wife who run most of the restaurant themselves, he being the chef and she is the front of house. There were so many groups of locals who were dining here, and a few tables had even brought in baby gifts for the lovely couple, since she is due in a month. This warmed our hearts to see the support of the community. You could tell this is a favorite local spot and the couple certainly deserves the love. They were friendly, accommodating, and served with excellence. The appetizer special was a shrimp with bell peppers and pineapple dish over jasmine rice. Usually places make this overly saucy, but theirs was SO GOOD! I could have ordered 5 of these as my meal and called it a night! Luckily I didn’t, because everything else was fantastic. We ordered the fresh made focaccia. It smelled divine! We split the pear and cranberry salad. The salad was incredibly refreshing and the pears were so soft. We split the duck leg confit which was cooked so well and it melted in your mouth, in a good way, even with the crispiness of the skin. A twice baked potato, and the trio of homemade ice creams finished off the meal. We were so happy to support local, and this place was really deserving because they do everything well.

Was very excited to try this restaurant… the reviews were all wonderful & the menu was unusual & fun! Made our reservations thru OpenTable)for this evening at 6:15. Got to the Restuarant at 6:10…. No lights on… door locked… no one there! Based off the hours posted on door (& on OpenTable)… should have been open. As a small brick & mortar business owner myself… I believe that one of the most important thing is to stand by the hours you post. Nothing upsets people more than to come to your business during your publicized business hours just to find you closed. It’s especially upsetting when you make reservations for dinner… and you show up on time & the restaurant isn’t even open! So frustrating! We travel through Redding many times a year & always eat out… and are always excited to try something new. May never try this place after tonight’s experience. Luckily… went to another place in town… right after on the river… and had fabulous service & a lovely meal.

I surprised my girlfriend with this place and it was amazing. The food was just perfect, I had a chicken marsala and she had the pesto penne pasta. My chicken was juicy, the noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delightful. The Pesto pasta was very pesto-y and very creamy which is amazing if you like it, she didn't. I quite enjoyed a bit of her pasta. Overall the food was great! We had desert as well, I have a crème brûlée and she had strawberry gelato. They were both delicious and we are as much as we could as we were already pretty stuffed from the meal. I recommend this place to everyone! Their menu seams to have a tiny bit of a lot of stuff.

Always have a great dining experience at Cafe Paradisio. The menu is very varied and offers something for everyone. Excellent quality, beautiful presentation, and always delicious. Only complaint -- it is very noisy when all the tables are filled and is a bit of a strain to hear your dining companion.
