Cafe Osceola at Rosen Shingle Creek
We have been to this restaurant for there buffet a few times over the years and and are always very happy.
We had reservations for New Years Eve so we didn’t have to wait long like others who did not. Our server Eddie was good but very busy. So when we needed anything we could ask any server that passed by and they assisted us. The buffet was not as plentiful as it was last year but still good. They ran out of the girly New Years hats but we still received the top hats & whistles. We had Florida discount total was $50/pp plus they automatically add 18 percent for service gratuity (3 in our party).
We also went for breakfast buffet the next morning and Sammy was our waiter & he was awesome. He had so much energy & anytime we needed something he was there.
Went for the New Years buffet... This year the offerings were heavy to the cajun side.... I did well with the anti-pesto, prime rib and deserts..... For some place special it was a good value.....
I have been at Cafe Osceola for the last 3 years for the New Years Eve and the food this 2018 was not as good like when they started offering the dinner x this date.
Yet again an outstanding holiday spent at Cafe Osceola. The staff, service, and dining is impeccable. We have been for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Years Eve this year alone. Not having family in the area, finding somewhere to enjoy a holiday meal can be challenge. We won’t ever go anywhere else!
Amazing breakfast buffet and the ambiance is nice staff was very friendly
We have been coming here for 10+ years for Christmas and this year the menu selections were by far the best that we have ever had and seen!
Amazing wide spread of food. All was very delicious especially the asian food and the desserts. Anything you could possibly think of, they had. The bottomless champagne was a fun touch too!
Food was disappointing. There wasn't a good selection of variety. The wait staff who provided our drinks and who cleared our plates were slow with their service. It was a holiday celebration and did not measure up to the cost that we were charged.
My wife and I have visited this restaurant several time and done the Christmas buffet for the last four years. The food and staff are great! We live local and have come for the breakfast buffet as well.
This was meant to be our Christmas dinner, didn’t turn out the way I had thought...dinner was cold, starters were not to be found until after main course, desert was the best part of meal.
As always, an excellent Christmas meal with so much choice! From the Amuse Bouche to the dessert tasters, the quality is superb. An absolute must for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
My family has been going to the café Osceola at the Rosen Shingle Creek, holiday branches for over seven years now and have never ever been disappointed. The food is delicious, exquisitely presented and if you can’t find something absolutely fabulous to eat there then you won’t find it anywhere! The servers are all so very friendly and accommodating. Managers take the time to greet you to be sure you are happy and well cared for by the staff. It is our now our family holidays tradition.
Everything was great except the seating arrangements. My party was was for 2 people and the table was for 4 and near the stairs. I asked for a different table and to no avail we had to keep the original seating. I suggest to accommodate base on the size of the party.
Each year we come to this location for the Christmas Holiday Brunch. This time around they had revamped some stations, added more exotic foods, yet maintained a great line of favorites as well. The wait staff were always punctual on topping off drinks, and clearing away dishes from the table. We look forward on returning next year!
Attended Christmas brunch with a party of 13. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. The value was exceptional and they offered a Florida resident discount.
We love this place! We’ve been to many brunches here and we are never disappointed! Everything is wonderful! They have a brunch for Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My wife and I went there for Christmas Brunch. The food selection and quality were fantastic. The service by everyone was impeccable, and all of the staff were attentive and very friendly. We plan on making this an annual event.
We were so looking forward to celebrating our Thanksgiving at Cafe OSCEOLA, my husband is a firefighter and I’m a nurse, both of us had to work on thanksgiving so we booked “Our Thanksgiving” on that Saturday at 2:30 through open table. As we were getting ready I received a phone call at 1:00pm from Danny at Cafe OSCEOLA stating that he wasn’t sure how I was able to book a reservation for 2:30 because they were closing at 2:30 and could not seat us. I was very upset due to already missing Thanksgiving with my family and was really looking forward to our dinner there. Unfortunately due to such a late notice we weren’t able to make reservations anywhere else that offered a thanksgiving buffet option. I really felt like they didn’t care about ruining our only holiday together. So disappointed!
Had Thanksgiving buffet. Amazing selection of food. Waiter was missing in action but management stepped up. Plan to return.
The drawback was how late the meal was. 8 PM seating some of the food was gone. The vanilla parsnips soup was crusted on the bottom of the pot and the grouper cheeks tasted old. There was a lot of grouper in the serving dish. Suggestion, fish should be more carefully staged out. Serve in smaller portions to retain the freshness.
The serving staff was terrific, especially given the long day they had. The resort was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The parking lot was not marked well so we ended up walking from one side of the hotel (the conference center) to the other.
We paid $69.95 each for a special Thanksgiving meal in a buffet setting. Food looked spectacular & tasted great but this is where the good news ends.
We had problems with the service. Each time we left our table to get more food (twice in total), the waiting staff cleared the table including silverware, drinks and even the tablecloths.
Manager was very apologetic and offered us each a free coffee as compensation ! I asked if there was anything he could do with the bill and he said he would reduce it by 40% which was fine. It was not until I got home that I realized that the 40% discount included the 25% we were entitled to as Florida residents so he actually only gave us and additional 15% discount.
Needless to say we will not be going back - staying at home next year !
The atmosphere was great! The food was wonderful as we celebrated for a Thanksgiving celebration. The plates are a little pricey. The service was a little slow for drink refills, but everything else was wonderful.
We came for the Thanksgiving buffet and it was wonderful. Our group of six was seated on time and our server Samantha came over promptly and greeted us with a wonder smile and explained the buffet. The service remained top notch and the food was fresh and plentiful! The buffet was full of choices and constantly being refreshed. Overall an excellent experience! We will definitely make a return visit!
We wanted a unique thanksgiving experience with a little ambiance so we booked the thanksgiving buffet at the Rosen Center at Shingle Creek. What we got was a loud hectic dinner with no ambiance whatsoever. Evidently they were having a statewide cheerleading competition there for that weekend and the place was overrun with children in the competition. Since the buffet sits in the middle of the hotel, downstairs from the hotel lobby the noise level was loud. We enjoyed the food, plenty to choose from but felt the room was too small for the number of reservations. We usually go to the grove park inn in Asheville for their thanksgiving buffet which has always been exceptional down to the piano player entertaining during dinner. Nice Touch! Rosen center drops the ball when it comes to location for buffet. Would have been much better in a larger venue. On a one to ten scale I’ll give it a 7, too crowded for my taste.
Second time coming here for the holidays. It is the best place to eat and enjoy everything you could ever want all under one roof. A little pricey but not when you account for unlimited champagne and the florida residents discount.
Thanksgiving buffet was extensive and offered unique and varied cuisine. Something for everyone. The free mimosas and champagne was a very nice touch. The staff were cordial and very helpful during the busy day! I always enjoy visiting and staying at Shingle Creek and look forward to returning.
The food was just so so. The prime rib was tough and dry. It took forever for the wait staff to remove the used plates and re-fill the water glasses. Not to mention there had to be about 1000 girls and their parents there for a cheerleading demo. Very loud.
Have enjoyed Thanksgiving there 4 times. The food and food servers are excellent. This time however, we had a disappointing experience where we were seated in a small table next to the restrooms even though we made reservations months before and saw our waiter only once in the beginning. We had to flag other servers down so we could enjoy some champagne and I had to go looking for our server to get our check. He added an 18% gratuity to it and I told him his service was well below acceptable. But it being a buffet, we were not impacted from enjoying a truly wonderful meal.
Thanksgiving buffet was phenomenal! Great variety, excellent food and great service. Will definitely be back next year!
Every Thanksgiving we all get together and have our Dinner at Rosen Shingle Creek and it is always AWSOME!! So much to choose from everybody is sooo satisfied. Thank you so much for having this every year.
Very nice layout. We had a great time. Seated promptly
Food temperature and quality not as good as in the past.
Great Thanksgiving Buffet.
Extremely enjoyable Thanksgiving brunch for a small family. Everything you can possibly imagine to eat. Only downside is no leftovers but on the upside no dishes to do.
The food was okay. Paella was cold and dry. Scallops were glossy could’ve been cooked more. The grouper was undercooked. I think a better selection of comfort food would have been better… Perhaps baked potatoes and an au gratin potato in addition to the mashed potatoes. The ham was dry. The desserts were fine however a couple of standard desserts on Thanksgiving would have been better than all mousse desserts. Apple and pumpkin pie. This is our third time visiting Rosen for the holidays.
Large seating area with great buffet menu (the better deal). The resort is large and parking is free. We were able to walk in and enjoy breakfast. The wait staff was top notch, regularly checking to see if we needed anything. The final tab was a little more than expected, but the overall experience was worth it.
The buffet had nothing on it. There was suppose to be a carving station. Nothing
Something to do with cheer leaders.
We just flew in from Rhode Island for our vacation and we were hungry. We had a party of 6, 3 people went else where when they saw the buffet. Very disappointing for such a beautiful hotel.
