The menu is a reflection of both the French and Vietnamese palate, focused on fresh seafood like Speckled Trout with Lump Crabmeat, BBQ Local Catfish and Bouillabaisse with fresh shellfish and hunks of drum. Traditional Vietnamese dishes include Pho and Spring Rolls, alongside specialties such as Chef Minh’s Charcoal Pork Soup with egg noodles and bok choy.
Come experience Café Minh’s exceptional hospitality, nestled in a traditional mid-city home. Established in 2007 and followed by a loyal local clientele, Cafe Mihn is a refreshing get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

We love Cafe Minh! I'm a great fan of their Vietnamese style food and my wife love
their New Orleans-influenced seafood dishes and French Onion soup!
Always a gem. Both Vietnamese and Creole under one roof. Civilized, intelligent staff, well-curated wine list, half price bargains at lunch MTW. The kitchen can pull off whatever the menu or staff offer. In my top five everyday list for years.
Excellent French and Asian Options. Everything fresh, delish, well presented! I had a sublime Crab, Avocado and Tomato Napoleon as an appetizer, and a perfectly cooked Veal Chop; both specials that night. I highly recommend; will definitely be back!
Wonderful , delish and never disappoints
Great food and great wine list. We are coming back for sure. Parking is?????.
The place is great, but the service is very slow. The food was OK- not as good as in the past. The menu is limited.
Out of many things we selected but food was great
I have dined here several times and the service, and quality of the food has been outstanding!
I highly recommend it!
Great place but the service is very slow and it takes a long time for the food to come out. Good for leisurely dining.
Beef Pho best around this area.
The staff is wonderful and the food is very tasty and fresh.
Every aspect of of our dining experience was “SUPERB”!!
I have dined at Cafe Minh over many years, and loved it and still do. However, on Friday night I hosted two guests and was most disappointed that it took almost 25 minutes to order drinks. The couple seated next to us (who were seated after us) had wine and their appetizers delivered before we got any attention at all. I had to stand up and go find the wait staff person who had seated us and request service ASAP. Our server was overloaded with tables to tend to. I do not blame her for our problem as she did a good job eventually. After I ordered a bottle of wine some of the other servers pitched in and the woman assigned to us did her best. I am sure that a lack of wait staff can happen sometimes, and I will be back, but perhaps not on a weekend evening.
The octopus appetizer was superb. The beggar's purses incredible. The blackened shrimp salad excellent. Highly recommend this place
Delicious whole fish.
Always wonderful! I have never been disappointed. Fresh and innovative.
Great neighborhood restaurant! It's Vietnamese soul food with French presentation. The fried fish special with vegetables in a delicious broth was excellent. Soup and key lime pie left something to be desired (it's worth asking which desserts are made in-house). Would love to sample the rest of the menu.
We enjoy the food.
Food was delicious and service was great. My first time eating at this restaurant. Will definitely be back!
Great food and wonderful service. Will repeat a visit.
Another great visit. We always seem to do Saturday nights, and arriving just past 8 has proven to be good if you want to avoid some of the crowd. This night there were a few more empty tables than usual. Service was great from the start with cocktails and fun chatter about the bars' bourbon offerings. After drinks we enjoyed two appetizers, the trio meat satay, and an Italian sausage stuffed mini-peppers off the menu special. We've had both before and are happy to report that these are just fantastic. For entrees we had a repeat of the Grilled Shrimp Salad and a dinner special Braised Lamb Shank with Wild Mushroom Risotto. Again, standard high grades fro the salad, but that lamb shank was really impressive. Oh so tender and with a great sauce. The risotto was perhaps just a tad dry on it's own but seemed just right as it was plated well with the sauce. I can't imagine that I would ever pass this up if its on the menu when I visit again. Key Lime Pie and Vietnamese coffee finished things up for us. Pie was a good 7.5/10 with presentation a 9.5/10. The coffee was a bit different, but that's why we tried, and it was, well, different. I wouldn't order it at other places but here it seemed right, and I'm sure I'll be here again having another cup some time. With a lighter crowd the ambiance was really great for a nice relaxing meal. This was our best visit here so far.
I know it was New Year's Eve but grown adults were making loud noise with noise makers at 8pm while other guest at different tables were still trying to enjoy their dinner. Keep in mind to me it's only 8pm. I am all about about partying but there is a place and time for all things .
Came in at 5. Easy to walk in. Service was good, but we were the only people there. Appetizers were great, but priced as much as the entrees. Desert was a small sliver of cake. Overall cost was high, even before drinks were added. Great meal, but too expensive.
Very pleasant experience. Our server was great. The food was all of very consistent high quality. We had a variety of dishes and everything was delicious- would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
The evening was wonderful from walking in the door to ending the meal with a nice desert. We love Cafe Minh.
It is always delicious 😋 and the service always top notch.
Excellent Asian inspired menu. Everything was served hot and delicious. Great flavors throughout. Had oysters and shrimp for starters and duck, pompano en papiotte, and lobster pasta. Super.
Went for Christmas Eve Dinner. First time and the food was outstanding!! Service was slow but assumed as much with all the large parties. They ran out of dessert and we would’ve loved to have sampled that, but overall were so impressed!
Food was spectacular, as usual. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Great food with outstanding flavors.
This Restaurant is always consistent on their food. Every dish is superb. Is a hidden jewel!
Excellent meal with service to match. Great place.
This restaurant never ceases to amaze me with it's variety of food and its preparation. It's simply one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. I can't wait to return.
Server was clueless. Had no idea what anything was. Restaurant smelled like dirty mop. Food was good but no where near worth the price paid. Wouldn’t go back unless someone else was paying.
This was my second time there and honestly the food just did not rab my attention. Definitely Asian fusion. However, if you are going to go that route Mopho in the same general neighborhood just does it better.
Got the salad on special and honestly there just wasn't anything special about it. The fish however was cooked perfectly! But there was nothing specially about it. The salmon was on a bet of greans with a citrus soy dressing and a few sliced apples. That's it. The fried springs rolls were tasty but there beggars purse dumbling were not fantastic.
I think my main disappointment was that the chocolate cake was super dry. :-(
Nothing was BAD but with so many Asian and Asian fusion options in the city with better price points you have to better than just okay!
However, service was TOP notch. I'd try them again jsut to chec out the Pho but that would be it.
Inviting atmosphere and beautifully prepared dishes. The appetizers we had- three meat satay and pork dumplings were very good. Entrees were piping hot, fresh and perfectly executed. The chef stopped at our table to ask about our meal. Definitely will return!
Cafe Minh always delivers excellent food, attentive service and great value. Perfect place for a business lunch or an afternoon with the girls. You cannot not go wrong with this choice for a great dining experience.
Wonderful food. Wonderful atmosphere, and great family story.
Everything on the menu is good. Consistently outstanding food, service and ambiance.
