Service was outstanding! Beautiful view of the Marina Harbor. We celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday there and had a great time!
A lovely restaurant. The prices are a bit high but not outrageous. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. View very nice. Only negative comment is that the portions were somewhat on the skimpy side. Kind of like the chef figured "what is the minimum portion that will satisfy" rather than "let's give a hearty portion". Not a family restaurant..good for lovers and business people. Overall though, a nice evening.
Great place for date night! My husband and I attended in early March and were welcomed to sit by the fireplace inn comfy loveseats as we awaited our table (we were early on purpose to enjoy a happy hour beverage and bite) and enjoyed a live cellist performance! We dined on small bites and sipped cocktails and when seated enjoyed stunning views of the Marina as well as a sumptuous dinner. Highly recommend!
Pleasant surroundings with fun view of the harbor/marina and consistently interesting and good tasting menu...been going there over 30 years!
The hostess was very pleasant, the server was attentive and the food was excellent. My husband I enjoyed watching the sunset as we dined. It was a pleasure to again have relaxing dining experience at Cafe del Rey, a jewel in Marina Del Rey.
We had a wonderful brunch at a window table. Two of our party had the 3-course prix fixe brunch including unlimited drinks. While $44 sounds expensive, it was actually a very good deal for what it included. The third person in our party had the seafood cobb salad. Food and drinks were all very good. Ambiance (window table overlooking water and boats) was outstanding and service was excellent. I would highly recommend.
We have come to Cafe Del Rey a few times and every single visit is delicious and enjoyable. My wife and 2 daughters really enjoyed our meal tonight. The wonderful hospitality and ambiance of the restaurant put us at ease. The food was beautiful and delicious and we plan to come back soon
My compliments to the management and staff of the entire operation thank you for an enjoyable evening.
As always, food wonderful, Rob, our waiter, fabulous and attentive
Fabulous first experience at Cafe Del Ray! Excellent service, delicious food, wonderful wine selection, and water view!
The brunch was fabulous as always! Food always great and service very attentive without being overbearing. They do not rush you through!!
My kale salad and salmon entree were excellent.
Food was not good at all ... price was way too high given the poor quality of tyhe food. Service was mediocre.
Excellent spot for our meeting.
Love everything about Café DEL Rey
Been going there for 23 years. And love Jenny the hostess
This was a last minute choice for a bite to eat before flying out of LAX the following morning. We knew nothing about this restaurant other than the menu looked good and location was fairly convenient to our LAX hotel. We were super pleased with the whole experience. From the hostess to our server to the food, we would surely return again when in the area.
As always delicious!
Haven't been to this restaurant in a while but it has lost anything since we have been gone! In fact I would say that the service and quality of the food has got better! Would like the noise level to be a little lower but I am still a fan...
Very nice ambiance, soothing and elegant decor, beautiful view...
One of my friends enjoyed her catch of the day a lot. Her husband had the seafood Cob salad, the seafood was tasteless, same with my lobster roll, the lobster was very cold, watery and missing the tartar sauce... Dessert was great! Overall we had a good time!
Wonderful fresh fish selection, artfully presented...and creative desserts as well! Yummy! Lovely to enjoy the sunset illuminating the boats.
The restaurant had a nice view of the outside Marina and friendly staff
Hair in food, waiter awol majority of time
We had to wait 20 minutes to get our beverages- the food came about 30 minutes later. It was like the waiter forgot we were there.
Out of 5 entrees, only one person really liked their choice at brunch. Mine was just weird and not delicious. I had the house-smoked salmon benedict. The house-smoked salmon was a piece of boring, untasty, flaked cooked salmon - not resembling any smoked salmon I have ever had in my life. The "latke" it was served on was watery and flaccid - not crisp, not delicious. To be fair, the Benedict part was good - they at least know how to poach an egg. Served with a wilted, wet mound of fruit salad. Meh. The calamari appetizer was average at best- the sauce tasted jarred. The service was uneven and the waiter forgot about us after serving food. No coffee or iced tea refills were ever offered. One of our party actually had to get up to find our waiter when we were done eating because we had been waiting so long and people wanted coffee and cappuccinos. It was Sunday brunch! The $14 dessert (macaroons) was found to be unremarkable by everyone who tasted it. A bit sad overall for a brunch that was $200. So disappointing - don't know if we were there on an off day, but I won't be going back. The view and table were lovely though - just so sad the food and service wasn't better. We had out of country guests with us and we were hoping it would be a memorable experience. Oh well.
Cafe del Rey is consistent in the quality and presentation of its food. We shared a Caesar salad which was delicious. Then we had the lamb ragout and the filet mignon for our mains. The ragout is hearty and flavorful. The steak was cooked perfectly and accompanied by fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Delicious! Vladimir, our waiter, is knowledgeable and interesting and we always appreciate seeing him.
Cafe del Rey also serves a wonderful brunch and during the day you are treated to the boats in the Marina. At night you enjoy the sunset or lovely lights in the Marina area. Request a window seat. And by the way, their bar is wonderful as well with a fire in the fireplace on cold nights.
Food was amazing. Attentive and friendly staff from valet, bar to dining table. Romantic ambiance. Would come back here again.
Great Valentines dinner service with a great view
