What a charming restaurant. So sad to see it go! I wish it stayed around. Reminded me of Europe ❤️
Gonna miss you so! Thanks for a great evening and a great 14 years.
My fav French bistro.
Loved their brunch! Went with a bachelorette party and had such a great experience.
had a wonderful meal and truly special date night here recently. the wine list is excellent, and our waiter made some great recommendations. loved the steak frites and burrata salad in particular. don’t pass on the bread pudding, it was so delicious!
Great French restaurant - knowledgeable staff and great overall experience!
Unfortunately, the restaurant overcharged my Visa card by $10.00. I did not have my receipt when I discovered it and it was only $10, so I did not pursue it. But because of that and because the choice of food was limited I would not recommend it.
We love this place. The food is absolutely delicious - fresh and flavorful. Such a charming little spot. Seems like it belongs in a quaint neighborhood. It’s a downtown gem.
Always good food and service! We really enjoyed the oatmeal pancakes.
2.Soup was very delicious, but cold
3.Pork chops and chicken were overcooked
4.Duck was supposed to be medium rare, but instead it was very much raw, impossible to
5.Two dishes were missing ingredients listed on the menu. We had to point it out to the waiter
who in turn had to go and remind the kitchen.
6.Mashed potato was undercooked and crunchy.
7.…and the best one.. two deserts included human hears, I doubt it was supposed to be this
8.And finally our bill included more items that we ordered.
Amazing food, great service. Wonderful experience. We will definitely be back soon
Love Cafe Chloe!!! I’m from out of town and whenever I visit my daughter and son in law, it’s always a must do!! The only thing that we find challenging about the place is that the entree selections are always amazing and so hard to decide what to get!!! It’s all so goood!!
One of my all time favorites just got better. Best trout ever. Loved the new menu and renovations.
great little spot - my friends and I arrived early and Alison was very helpful and managed to seat us with no problems. I'd definitely go back!
Such a wonderful French restaurant! The Escargot is one of best. The food, service, and wine selection were superb! I am so enchanted with this place... will definitely be coming back very often.
ANMAZING good, ambiance and service!!! MUST try!!!!
Too expensive. Food was average. Bar tender wasn't very friendly and seemed hurried though it was a quiet early evening.
Good food but incredibly slow service. Love the place, but it took us close to an hour just to order appetizers!
Service was wonderful, friendly and comfortable. Food was remarkable, would ask for a bit less salt when cooking.
French energetic ambiance, great food, had flavors and well prepared. Has local and imported european beers German / Belgium, etc. A bit too loud for us, so definitely not for initmate quiet conversation. Highly recommend resevration. We had one, and we still had to wait about 10mn. Poached eggs with mushrooms and steak frites were awesome, they are the most popular dishes, as well as mussels with french fries. Assiette de charcuterie was also worth it, great appetizer while waiting for main dishes.
My daughter and I celebrated Mother’s Day early. Cafe Chloe continues to stand as my favorite restaurant. Service, Steak Frites, wine recommendation were perfection. New remodel is beautiful and brings a sophisticated charm.
Amazing! The trout was the best I've ever had. The French onion, Mac and cheese and special all were all exceptional!
We were at Chloe’s last Saturday with six people and we so enjoyed our experience. I have to admit, it had been a while since we had been there, but afterwards we vowed to come back more often! Everything was delicious. I
I like it very much that the menu is very good in its variety, but not so huge that we got lost in the decision making. We all loved our choices: some of us had trout, some of us had the steak, and everyone was sneaking a bite from the other entrees.
Our four friends, who are all serious foodies really loved the place, the menu and the ambiance. Thank you, Nicholas, for your impeccable service and for making our evening special,
Simple menu. Limited creativity. But what is made tastes fantastic. Delicious. Wanted to lick the plate. Onion soup wickedly rich. Endive salad refreshing. Trout was excellent. Sauces are all well prepared. This French restaurant is not afraid to use butter. Lots of butter. So good! Highly recommend.
This has been our go-to in the past for years. Unfortunately ownership has changed. One server staffed for the whole area, inside and out. He was very kind, as was the server assistant. Mac n' cheese was awesome, super kind to accommodate no meat. Beet salad was overdressed and prepared weird. We ended up skipping entrees and going to different restaurant. It was a birthday celebration which our server did try to honor with a complimentary dessert, but we were on our way out ready for actual dins. Very bummed. This was our local for a very, very long time.
Outstanding as always! Plus a new Menu with fantastic dishes!!
Excellent food, great service, lovely atmosphere. We are visitors to San DIego but have visited this restaurant on previous visits. Our favorite restaurant from La Jolla to San Diego!!
Fantastic food, lovely ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant for dates or special occasions.
Limited, expensive menu. Waitress indifferent and rather rude. Our food was served separately so had to eat separately - completely unacceptable .... when we spoke to the waitress about this she really couldn't have cared less.... no offer of a reduction or refund...... not the service we are used to or was expecting after reading the reviews.
We went to Cafe Chloe as it was rated to be a top romantic restaurant. It isn't romantic at all. It is loud. We went on a Tuesday and they were out of most of their wines which were supposed to be 50% off. The food was average at best.

10Best says there are water views in two directions.
Trip Advisor says there is a full bar.
Good bistro style food, and consistently well prepared; however, on this occasion, things got very slow in the kitchen and the wait between the soup course and the dinner was close to 40 minutes... So we almost missed an 8 pm concert four blocks away on our 6 pm dinner reservation.
We decided to try a French restaurant during our time in San Diego, and Cafe Chloe did not disappoint. From the great food to the amazing service, we were impressed from the minute we arrived. There's a decent choice ranging across all food types, and the flavor definitely something to come back for again.
The only downside was while we were sitting outside they were fixing tables so became a little bit loud, but other than that there was nothing but wonderful experiences and cuisine. Their pots of tea are great value with amazing flavors
Food was amazing! One of the best Steak Frites I have had. Loved the ambiance. It was a little loud/crowded, but not too bad. The servers seemed rushed and that affected the quality of the overall experience, but otherwise very nice.
An exceptional meal (jidori chicken, salad, lemon curd tart with raspberries), never rushed. The seating is a little tight, just like in Paris. No complaints. Highly recommended.
Cafe Chloe was everything I wanted for a night of conversation with four other women. The food was delicious. Most of us got the special for the night--a short ribs dish. The service was great, and they were very accommodating of our need for separate bills.
Our reservation was made weeks in advance and yet we were seated at a table right by the entrance and traffic when other tables for 2 were available in the upper level. The steak was so tough we could not eat it-not acceptable for a restaurant this quality and price.
We were seated promptly at a lovely window table. They had a special where they were offering 50% off of Reserve wines. Of the three bottles we ordered only one of which was really good. The food and service was good. We very much liked the atmosphere and would go back. It is a great little French cafe for San Diego.
So disappointing. We were one of only two tables when we walked in. We were given dinner menus at 9:45am. Ok no big deal. Then it took forever to get our coffee. First cup came out with a lipstick stain. Gross. Ordered the two egg breakfast and the bistro salad. Food was fine. Overpriced for a basic breakfast. Served never came to check on us. Coffee was refilled with Luke warm coffee. Super slow service and an inattentive server. Terrible experience for a $50 breakfast for two. Will certainly not return and would not recommend
Arrived for our reservation on time only to literally see them give our reservation to some-one else- not a good start. Took about 15 minutes to sort out and eventually we were seated at a nice corner table. At first our waiter seemed a little edgy/arrogant but did warm up during the course of the meal. The good news, the food was outstanding! The beet and burrata and the wild mushrooms were excellent, the steak tartare delicious. Entrees tried included the seabass (wonderfully complemented by the leek and potato), The Chloe burger (best burger in San Diego restaurant) and the house made pasta- all outstanding- amongst the best food we've eaten in San Diego. Wine list limited but excellent choices. Desserts fairly standard offerings but again, outstanding. Ambience- looks a little cramped but really didnt seem that way once seated. Overall, the food was clearly the star of the evening- maybe thats the way it should be!!
Well worth the visit
