Excellent customer service food was great the atmosphere was amazing. The view was beautiful and I must say I will surely tell my friends about it so they can come.
Such a treat and amazing to see Baltimore from the roof. Our waiter was absolutely the best. We came back for brunch in the morning. The Bygone even gave us a handwritten note and complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Would highly recommend to to anyone thinking about going. The cocktails were top-notch, as was pretty much everything else about the place. We'd definitely love to come back.
The overall view is outstanding, and worth the cost of the drinks. The service was some of the best we've ever had. The food, not even close.
Enjoyed drinks at the bar and the amazing sunset and views of the city.
We were seated and our server was absolutely wonderful, thought of everything.
Every course we had, was average at best.
$20+ for 4 shrimp
$70 for an overcooked steak
$12 for average broccolini, which you had to order because for $70 all you got was an over cooked steak on a plate.
We spent $400 on our meal and drinks and left feeling like we could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere.
Again, I cannot stress enough how beautiful it is, and how wonderful the service was, but they HAVE to step up their menu and execution to compete in the area. The food was a total disappointment at every stage.
Bygone continues to maintain a high level of service and quality food, with of course a great view. Their wine list (bottle) is on the expensive side even for non exceptional wines and by the glass remains unnecessarily pricey ($20) if you want a good wine. Our waiter Paul was very good and made our evening all the more enjoyable. The restaurant could definitely use a real french patissier to bring desserts up on par with the rest of the menu. A nice touch from the restaurant was a complementary dessert and a card for our celebration.
I’m not a regular reviewer - usually just when a restaurant is extraordinary and they deserve praise or if it was less than a good experience. My observations...my server Rich was kind and unbelievably talkative and spoke so fast I couldn’t catch what he was saying. The hostess walked by my table at least 20 times, incessantly clicking her shoes on the laminate floor. A manager or host stopped by every table in my area to ask how everything was and not mine. Woman dining alone - a coincidence. The $17 cocktail was about 3.5 ounces of simple sugar syrup. The toast with the steak tartare was burnt and obviously so to the server. He said “don’t worry, I won’t tell them until you’re gone”. What does that mean? I also commented that the Sweet Gem salad was swimming in dressing. He was unimpressed. $80 later, not including tip....not good. And there are only great views if they seat you by a window, which I requested but didn’t get. I went to the spa in the same hotel -4 Seasons and had a way better time.
We were celebrating our marriage on a wonderful Tuesday evening. We were fortunate to get a window seat with a great view. They served us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our occasion. Overall it was an outstanding experience with two minor disappointments. First, we ordered two glasses of wine to go with our dinner. Unfortunately they were not brought out until we were almost finished after waiting for our server to return to the table after placing our entrees down. We looked for him but he seemed to have "disappeared". Not major but disappointing. The other was the order of oysters we placed for an appetizer. There was no indication of how many we were to receive...and we did not ask (mistake)...when they arrived there were three...yes three...not 4...not 6...but three. Since the server was aware we were only ordering a single appetizer it might have been helpful had he mentioned there were only three. He did not...and we did not ask...but it seems odd that there would only be three and that it is not mentioned on the menu. I suggest you ask how many when ordering to be sure. They might consider stating 3 and offering an upcharge for a half dozen or an even amount if sharing an app.
All in all a wonderful experience. Ask for a window view of the harbor and downtown if possible. The beef Wellington may have been the finest piece of beef I have ever had...that includes Ruth Chris, Fleming's Sullivan's...while it is a pricey establishment, it is definitely worth every penny. We are already planning our return.
There is only one word to describe our culinary and dining experience the other night at BYGONE and that word is SUPERB! Every detail was perfection guided and executed by our excellent and most caring server, JEFFERY. My guests and I were beyond pleased.
Whenever I have the occasion to entertain special guests, BYGONE is indeed my first choice. Thank you for being one of Baltimore's finest restaurants.
This is definitely a special occasion place. Impeccable food, ambiance and service. Quite pricey.
Wonderful food, a great view, and excellent service.
Fabulous! This is the best restaurant in Baltimore, with none that can compete. Our server, Jeffrey, was outstanding. The flaming duck for two was an illuminating spectacle, the carving table was a showstopper, the windows (walls) provided a magical appearing City, and all personnel were most delightful. This is THE
Lace to see and be seen, believe me! Thanks for a marvelous evening on the 29th floor!
The staff made my 30th birthday one I will never forget as well as my partner whom we both share the same birthday. The food was amazing and the total experience was beautiful and more than I imagined.
Great birthday experience, will definitely be returning!
It was great the only reason I did not give 5 start across was because we did not or could not sit by the window. I didn’t bother to ask to change seats I should have and they probably would have been accommodating. We were there for our “Newlywed dinner” they gave us a complimentary glass of champagne which was nice didn’t even ask for that. Over all the place was gorgeous. The food was great. The service puts this place over the top.
Admittedly, I've been spoiled by the many brunches I've experienced at the Four Seasons in Georgetown (Washington, DC), but aside from the view, this restaurant is a bit underwhelming. The main problem is the lack of higher end offerings, such as crab, smoked hams, specialty desserts, etc. The coffee is not even served hot at your table -- it's the tepid self-serve variety found at Comfort Inn and other such establishments. Also, the dress code was not adhered to, giving the place a déclassé atmosphere.
Wonderful venue. Beautiful views.
A wonderful dining experience but music from bar is a little loud after 9
Birthday dinner. Drinks were good, food was slightly above average. The views and ambiance were very nice.
Service was excellent and the food superb. The spectacular view and ambiance made for a wonderful evening.
Everything was perfect but I just didn’t like the way waiters keep looking at us while we were dining in. Otherwise it was really good.
The experience was very nice, however, even though I called in advance and requested a window seat as this was my 24 year anniversary (ON A MONDAY), but I didn't get what I wanted. In addition, Julian, the sommelier didn't even visit us. This was odd, since he visited the folks right next to us, hmmm. Interestingly, I am a winemaker, and while I am not from France or Sonoma, the courtesy would have been appreciated. I requested, as I was leaving, what I would need to do to get table 61, let's see if Bygone delivers, on my next (and possibly) last visit.
The service and ambiance were amazing. The food was top notch. The space was a little louder than I expected. The only down side was during dessert. I ordered a Spanish coffee, which should be made like an irish coffee but utilizing rum and coffee liquor instead of whisky. It should be topped have a sugar rimmed glass and be topped with whipped cream. When I ordered, the wait staff asked me how to make it. Then there was a delay as the bartender had to search for ingredients. When the final product came, it was in the correct glass, but had too much rum and no whipped cream.
Went for our anniversary last Sunday. Our server was great. All of the staff was good. Great views. Beautiful ambiance. Guy at the waffle station seemed new. Struggled with the waffles. Guy at the omelette station was great. My fiance was very specific for her egg white omelette. Kinda pricey, $60 per person, but the views and experience make up for it. Located on the 29th floor. Will defiently go back.
The Bygone is our favorite dining experience, bar none.
This is our third time at Bygone. We wanted to give them another chance after a disastrous Valentine's meal. While service was better, the meal took a very long time. While it was good, I'm expecting a "Wow" for the money spent.
Was escorted to a table that had no view, in a restaurant that touted how nice of a view they have. We asked to be moved and moved to a better table. Service was excellent. Food and beverages were good although overpriced.
Exquisite place with an amazing view of the harbor!!!
Our waiter Neil was exceptional. I brought a client for dinner and Neil took great care of us. I couldn’t have asked for more. Neil made the experience special.
Experience was great as always . 1st time at brunch and every little thing was spot on.
Excellent food, service, view and atmosphere.
Request a window seat looking into the harbor in your reservation. Worth it! Great food, good ambiance.
All superlatives -- unparalleled view of Baltimore, excellent service, fantastic food
Food was amazing for my birthday I really enjoyed everything on the menu. And the view was breath taking! I have to go again.
Our dining experience was exceptional. The Ambiance, Service and food was perfect. Our waiters were on point all evening. I've recommended this restaurant to several friends. The view of the Inner Harbor of Baltimore was beautiful.
The food was delicious! The best steak that I've ever had!!
Spectacular views with excellent service that’s only surpassed by the food! The buffalo cauliflower and scallops are musts as appetizers! If you LOVE a good stake the Wagu rotisserie will not disappoint. We will definitely be going back for another special occasion. Also, feel free to chat with the super friendly elevator attendant! He really sets the mood and gets you excited for the meal ahead.
The food and ambience was great. The only issue we encountered was our server. He didn't let us complete our sentences, he brought out the wrong food originally, and added additional charges for the wrong food. We had it taken off, but the hassle of double checking his service made the experience minimal. I'm sure it would've been perfect if we had another server.
Ambiance was amazing, service was great the view of Baltimore was amazing but the food left much to be desired, maybe I would have thought if the prices we’re better but for the price the food should be amazing it was ok at best.
Lets put a restaurant at the top floor with semi okay views and charge more for the ambiance. The selection of food for the price is sadly disproportionate.
Most importantly and the most glaring of it all..there’s a dress code but no one but our party adhered to it. The restaurant allowed folks with sports jerseys to enter and dine in while it was clearly stated that you could not come in if you are wearing anything other than a collared shirt and dress shoes.
People were in T-shirts. The Bygone needs $60 per head that much that you will turn your back on your own policy?
I will come back in a T-shirt next time and you better let me in. Your dress code does not apply to anyone. It is to promote a high end atmosphere but it is far from it when you get there.
The waiter had food stains on his jacket as if he’d been wearing it for days.
Our used buffet plates sat on our table while we were trying to enjoy our other plates.
It’s all a gimmick. I also put on my reservation to place us at the window since it was our first time there. I will give you one guess where we were seated.
The experience was horrible! Make this right for us.
The beef wellington was incredible. The lions tail coctail was like an orange cider.... i liked it, but may not be for everyone. My wife enjoyed her porkchop. The view is better than advertised!
