Butera’s Restaurant of Bay Shore is the newest addition to the Butera Restaurant Group. Owners Gary Butera, Martin &Laurie Butera, Nick Zografos & David Novak have provided cool green & white panels, brick, subway tile, marble and original artwork. The decor adds a sleek industrial edge to compliment the tone in the casual, comfortable dining room & spacious bar. Garage doors bring the “outside” in to add to the open, airy industrial look.
The Butera’s kitchen, since it’s inception in Massapequa 1991 to present day Bay Shore , has and still does offer traditional rustic Italian cuisine with a modern flair alongside unique specials showcasing authentic ingredients and locally sourced products.
The Butera’s family relishes the opportunity to begin a new chapter in Bay Shore, and wants nothing more than to serve and delight the community for years to come.

The food was good. My dissatisfaction was with the interior. The decor is garage-like, cold and drab. No color, stark. When you use concrete floors the rest of the decor should be warm. It wasn’t. The people behind us weren’t overly loud, but there was nothing on the floor or walls to absorb their conversation. The menu had a lot of good choices but dishes are not served family style like the one in Sayville, so we didn’t like how that worked. However, my zucchini parm was delicious and so was the mussels appetizer that we shared. Had a glass of Josh Cabernet Sauvignon which was right temp and not from a preopened bottle. I’d definitely go back to the Sayville location over the Bayshore location, on our the next visit. We were the last customers to leave but there were several tables which were left uncleaned in the area surrounding us. Maybe there wasn’t enough servers/bussers, and it was more noticeable because we were last to leave.

My favorite “go to” place in bay shore for a meal that is awesome quality and quantity ALWAYS…. Never had a bad or subpar experience yet, since they opened. Love it.

My favorite Italian restaurant to go to on Long Island!! Navy was our server and she is the best!! Can’t wait to be back there!!

I usually give positive ratings, but this visit was similar to my last time at Butera's. The linguini with seafood meal was tasty, but once again, the calamari was like eating rubber bands. Got the same problem with this meal a month earlier. I articulated the problem with the calamari, the waitress did nothing to rectify the problem. She did not offer any solutions which would have been the correct thing to do. She simply said, "If I could do something to help you, please let me know!" (something like that). I said I have a ton of calamari in my plate, but not much of any other seafood. That was my cue to her to offer to swap out some calamari for something else; muscles, shrimp, scallops, or tiny little neck clams. She didn't take the bait and hence, my not-the-best review!

Pleasantly surprised by our meal. The portions were quite large, the food was not salty and came out piping hot which I love! The service was friendly and prompt.

Brought out of town friends and they and I were very impressed by the food, wine selection, and music selection. Will definitely be back as it’s one of my favorite local spots xx
