    The host desk was so warm and welcoming. Our reservation was at 8:00. There were 3 items that were sold out. We noticed some tables were offered bread and others were not. We ordered a salad to begin the meal. The meal came out before the salad. The meal , sides, and salad bombarded the table. It felt like we were being rushed to hurry up and finish our meal. Very different than when we arrived. It was a little underwhelming.

    Incredible food and service. Will definitely be back. Every course and drink was worth every penny. We had a large group and the room division felt like we had half the restaurant and staff to ourselves. Great for a private group or gathering whether that's old friends or a business meeting.

    I’m not one to complain but the service was lackluster. Our food came out completely undercooked to the point where it was inedible. We never send food back and we had to. We were disappointed in the experience.

    Delicious, perfectly prepared, dry-aged steaks! Friendly, attentive and knowledgable servers. Relaxed, no-rush atmosphere. When ordering sides, note that portions are plentiful, so pick just a couple/few and share. Enjoy!

    Restaurant was out of menu's, out of a number of menu items, took 2 hours from when we ordered until we got food. Very slow process. Do not go here unless you have time to spare.

    We had a reservation and they seated us right away. Service was great by Molly. Everything we ordered came out in a timely order. We split our meal and there was no fuss. The amount was plenty and the NY Steak 16oz was amazing! Char on the outside and perfectly medium inside, just what we wanted. I only gave 4 stars on the food because of the asparagus. Half was plump and had the perfect snap when bitten but the other half was skinny, limp and overcooked. That was odd and they could certainly improve on that. We would definitely go back again

    Went to butchers cut in the heart of gaslamp and had such an amazing meal! The service was perfect they were so quick and on top of everything from the servers to the bartenders it was great. On top of the service being great the food was the best I’ve had! We got the filet and the tomahawk, and all the steaks were dry aged so they had so much flavor! Definitely coming back so good!

    Worst restaurant in San Diego. Medium rare tomahawk was 200$ and flavorless not tender at all. They handed me and old school massive ponderosa style steak knife to cut it and I needed it. Sides were flavorless. THIS IS A TOURIST TRAP IN GASLAMP!!! DO NOT GO. Also they have a sister restaurant called Greystone don't go there either!!!

    My boyfriend and I dined at Butcher's Cut for our anniversary. We made the reservation on OpenTable and did select the special occasion option. When we got to the restaurant we were greeted by a host (I didn't catch her name), who congratulated us on our anniversary and gave us an option of booths and tables in the back. I loved the whole vibe of the restaurant - the ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. Shad was our server and he was excellent. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He gave us a rundown of how they age all of their steaks and gave recommendations on other menu items that weren't steaks. The specials all sounded lovely. My boyfriend and I don't drink, but the mocktail menu was fabulous. It is always a nice touch to see specialty n/a drinks on a menu. We split the beets and burrata salad - the beets and peaches were super tasty. We also ordered the lobster ravioli (one of the best I have ever tasted), and the center-cut filet with chimichurri sauce. Honestly, the steak was so good I didn't really need the chimichurri sauce! But I ended up dipping bread into the sauce after I devoured the steak because it was also so delicious. Everyone working was so kind, and multiple people came over and wished us a happy anniversary. They sent over a dessert on the house, which was very kind. I would absolutely come back and enjoy another evening at Butcher's Cut. Big shoutout to Shad and the rest of the crew for making our night so memorable.

    Reserved a table for a late Easter Sunday dinner. (Being out of town, the city parking presented somewhat of a challenge.) The place was nearly empty on an Easter night, so was seated immediately. The interior was nicely appointed, softly lit, and had an elegant atmosphere. The server offered a choice of either Perrier, or unsparkling spring water from 1.5L bottles. I chose the spring water (more on that later). The menu is ala carte. So given the late hour, I opted for the 12oz. Prime Sirloin steak with no sides. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, presented sliced, with finely diced sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, and an exceptional red wine Demi glacé dipping sauce. In summation: (with the exception of an $8 unordered bottle of spring water); the decor, ambience, service, and food were all terrific. Four stars. I would dine there again (but I’d thoroughly hydrate before going!).

    Came to dine on a friday night with my husband. Everyone is very friendly and got the job done (not sure if the chefs are friendly but they sure can cook.) The manager Rodolfo greeted me and my husband with a huge smile! Francesco, our server was spot on with the recommendations. Had ribeye as the main and was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately we couldn’t pair our meals with a bottle of wine or a cocktail. Highly recommend.

    Without ifs and buts…one of the best dinner of our life. We start with some incredible cocktails on the bar,the guys super kind and happy,they make a great service. Then we move on the table,started with the tartare and burrata,incredible good and tasty,never like that in a restaurant before. The lobster ravioli really good,and then the steak was absolutely delicious. Everything was great,cocktails,service by everyone,food,music,vibes. I highly recommend a dinner here,because u wil never forget it!! Well done guys!!

    My new favorite steakhouse in San Diego. Booked this restaurant cause my husband wanted to see their dry aging meat display. Atmosphere is very nice, feels upscale and homey at the same time. Steak was really delicious, juicy and cooked the way we liked it. We also had their signature salad with goat chese (sooo delicious). Lobster ravioli were nice, too. Ended our dinner with Irish coffee, but we'll be back to try their deserts. Our waitress, Alexandra, was very friendly and helped us make the best decision. Thank you! Highly recommend this place.

    OMG the steaks we just had, me and my wife ordered a tomahawk and a filet with some mashed potatoes and was really good. The staff really friendly and my server sinem was very sweet.

    Not a good place for a date night. The noise level is high and the individual tables are too close to each other. There’s nothing special with the food. The price doesn’t justify the taste nor the ambiance. The server is very nice but be prepared to wait a long time for your food to come out.

    Probably the worst meal I have had in SD. Our waiter changed three times, the restaurant week menu was not updated online and had significantly less options when we got there and was 5 dollars more. We were then told everyone has to get the restaurant week menu at the table or no one can (after already eating an appetizer off the menu) and the sea bass was ABSOLUTELY not sea bass, most likely tilapia and smelled actually foul. The drinks came out differently each time with different garnishes, despite being the same drink lol. It was such a bad experience and not worth $100+ each.

    We enjoyed a Friday evening at The Butchers Cut. The food and drinks were decent and the ambiance was very relaxed despite it being a Friday night. Our waitress, Jennifer (ask for her), was extremely friendly and helped make the experience fun and enjoyable.

    This is our second visit here and the service is excellent and food is great. Given this is restaurant week, which makes it busier than normal, we still got our drinks and food in very timely matter. Highly recommend for date night or get together. Will definitely come back. Fine dining and excellent service at its best!

    The first time at Butcher’s Cut we went for restaurant week. The venue itself is beautiful, the staff was very attentive and polite. I had the Los Cabos margarita made with Mezcal, which was a delicious smoky & spicy concoction, along with the filet mignon as an entree and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The food was excellent, although I would’ve liked my steak be cooked medium rare how I asked as opposed to medium well. The a la cart sides are pretty expensive: $17 for mashed potatoes (the filet came unaccompanied) and we felt rushed even though we arrived earlier than our reservation time. Staff were certainly attentive but more so to clear the table and get us moving with our courses than anything.
