We are cautiously optimistic as our community starts to open for business. Firstly, Butchers Cut is putting our people first. We are strictly re-enforcing all the proper sanitation practices to keep our team and guests healthy. Such a great place! Our waiter, Francesco was so professional and helpful. We were celebrating my daughters birthday. Everything we ordered, right down to the desert and the manor it was served was over the top. We will be back. Tomorrow!!

This a beautiful place right in the heart of the Gas lamp quarter. We went here for Mother’s Day. We ordered the oysters for an appetizer. I asked what kind of oysters they were and the waiter didn’t seem to know. He said he would go ask but never came back to tell us. When they brought out the oysters they were on ice but they were a bit warm so I don’t know where they store them. We didn’t finish the dozen. We also got the ahi/tuna crudo which was very good.
For dinner my husband ordered the A5 waygu. He ordered it cooked medium. Myself and my friend ordered the filet. We both also ordered medium. When the steak came out the A5 was very rare and both the filets were very well done with almost no pink. My husband ended up sending his waygu back to be cooked a little more because it was almost inedible when he tried it. We got the clams and mussels for my son which he loved and the bread was amazing. Our bid disappointment was with the steaks. It was very frustrating to spend big money on a special dinner and walk away feeling let down.

First time there, service was great, appetizer was good (charcuterie plate)

My porterhouse was not edible I took about 3 bites
My son ordered the tomahawk it was the same
My daughter the cheeseburger no flavor
My small son had just a chicken breast with fries which was ok.

For a $365 bill I expected a bit more.
Ive paid $500 at Fleming’s and was well worth it

Honestly there are a few other steakhouses around the same price or cheaper with way better tasting steaks. Not impressed at all! The food was less than average, the service was less than average and the price was way higher than average. Their pictures make it look delicious but i can make the same tasting steaks at home. The waiter paid more attention to us when it was time for the bill. First and last visit.

This was our first experience at the Butcher’s Cut. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was great; cooked to perfection! Tri colored cauliflower was awesome!!

Overall food was tasty and nicely prepared. However, the TEMPERATURE when it arrived was less than par. I expect my dishes to arrive piping hot and not luke-warm which is what we experienced. We had a group of 10 and the services struggled to keep our plates and drinks cleared and wine poured. Not bad, but not the best.

We only stopped by for drinks and appetizers but even though it wasn’t a meal I loved the place and service. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Drinks were great! I enjoyed the ambiance even if it was only for 45 minutes. I definitely plan on coming back.

My friends and I came here for my 26th birthday last night - LET ME TELL YOU!!! Amazing food, amazing service and beautiful interior! I got the angus filet with a side of mushrooms and it was cooked to perfection, probably the best steak I’ve had. The manager, Ashley, took great care of us, and made my birthday feel extra special. I hold special memories and moments here with my friends, thanks to the employees and management. DO NOT HESITATE TO GO HERE!!! Thank you Ashley, I love you!!! <3

dined for Restaurant Week. I had the crab cake, lamb chops, and limoncello sponge cake. we sat outside, good people watching, can get loud in Gaslamp though. menu options for Restaurant Week was a great value for what they offered. food was spectacular. service was great until our main entree came out. after that, we hardly saw our server and nobody checked on us. the wrong dessert was brought out to me by another server and took about 15 minutes to get that corrected. finally saw our waiter when he brought the check and he apologized for not attending to us due to the increased volume of customers that evening. it’s all good, he was working hard and deserved a little grace. it was still a wonderful evening enjoyed with my friends.

We went there for a restaurant week but didn’t try the special menu because it has no GF option. We ended up ordered 2 NY cut for medium cook but got well done overcooked chewy dry steak. One of the steak meat has weird musty smell. We didn’t want to send it back because we already waited 30 min for the order. Services was not great. Our server showed up once at the beginning but disappeared when we had no interest in wine and their overpriced surf and turf. Table and utensils were not clean. (Unknown speckles)

We came during restaurant week, excited to enjoy a new steak restaurant. Of the preselected menu, the appetizer that I chose was the zesty shrimp while the bf got the meatballs and we shared oysters. The shrimp was fantastic but the oysters...didn't taste like anything all, and we had to ask for the mignonette sauce, which again, didn't taste like anything.
The drinks range about $17-20 and were ok. I liked the freezing in SD better then their old fashion. The fillet mignon i ordered medium and came out a pretty pink and the texture was good but a little lacking in the flavor.
All in all, for the price you end up spending on the food, it's underwhelming. Especially considering this place is right next to several other steakhouses.

Server was unable to read the meal. Kept pressuring for the most expensive meal and drinks instead of offering genuine advise. Then proceeded to serve our drinks then immediately the apps followed by the main course after we’d only taken a few bites of the app. Thus making our meals cold before we were able to even start enjoying them. I would not recommend this place to anyone with such better steak restaurants in San Diego to choose from. Don’t waste your time.

Hostess incredibly rude. First wouldn’t accommodate our outdoor reservation and then proceeded to sit us at a tiny table right by the kitchen door. Not impressed. Our server was kind though and moved us to a better table.

If you want to have a nice dinner, do not consider coming here. Horrible service and food. Asked for refills 3 times still nothing, got our steak, asked for it medium well, it was purple. So we sent it back and asked for it to be well with no pink. It came back the exact same and the waiter fought us on what medium well actually was.... sides were horrible. We sent everything back and only paid for our drinks and left. We will not be coming back or suggesting this to anyone. Go to Cowboy Star or STK if you want a true steakhouse experience.

The only positive was the taste of majority of the food. Called to say we would be 5 min late due to Uber error. No one answered. Right as we walked up 5 min late they gave away our table. We waited 41 minutes. Cocktails were awful. Service was odd with multiple servers not knowing which one was ours. Food didn’t come as we had requested. After done eating waited a long time for our bill.

Service was good. Prices are as expected for a higher end steak, but the actual steak was nothing to write home about. I've honestly had better steaks at a Texas roadhouse. The sides were phenomenal as well as the appetizers. Go down the road to STK if you're looking for high end steaks.

My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary, and we would not go back. We spent $140 for two filets, a charcuterie board, and asparagus. We were served bread and butter to start our meal, and the butter had a crust on top of it like it had been sitting out. The charcuterie board had a couple good meats and cheeses, but also multiple boring ones, and some of our cheese had mold on it (it was not a cheese that is supposed to have mold). I thought the steak was bland and boring, and my girlfriend thought it tasted weirdly sour. We couldn’t tell if the steak was bad or if it was from a marinade. My filet also had a good amount of gristle on it. The asparagus was also bland and didn’t bring anything special to the table. If I could do it over, I would send everything back without paying. We payed way too much for a meal that I would not have spent $10 on.

I try and be Pandemic Positive so I gave a second star. TBC was a disappointment. I suspect my margarita had sat for a while as it tasted watery not tequilaly. Being Pandemic Positive I didn't send it back. My 24 oz bone in ribeye was not a pound-and-a-half of meat (I buy and cook steaks that size) and while cooked medium RARE as I asked it wasn't a great piece of meat. Not Dennys but not that tasty.

I feel we should have gone to Cowboy Star for a night out rather than seeking "value" at the less expensive place. Lou & Micky's is better too. Ugh, tried something new and it didn't work out.

Loaded baked potato was star item.
