The experience was top notch! We had the tasting menu, $35 per person, and it was amazing. The kitchen staff accommodated some of our pickier eaters without a second thought. They sat us at the open kitchen counter where the chefs were more than happy to answer our questions regarding techniques and seasoning. We were there before the after party for the wine and food festival. The chefs were frying up some pork rinds and they gave us a taster, delicious to say the least. The food is outstanding and the service is amazing. The value is second to none. I would go again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal in Charleston. It’s a must!
Disappointing lunch. A couple of years ago we had a great dinner here, but lunch this year was mediocre. The grain bowl was pedestrian and overpriced. The fried chicken sandwich was overcooked. The pickled vegetables were uninspired. Perhaps the quality of lunch versus dinner is the difference from our last trip. This feels like a restaurant that has lost its initial innovative excitement and has fallen back to ride on its reputation.
Wait staff was extremely friendly!
Great food and service. Manager was very attentive. We will definitely go again when back in Charleston.
Love the food
It’s that good. Simple as that.
Loved it for brunch! The service was spectacular.
Everything from food to service to atmosphere was exceptional!
Always a treat to dine at Butcher and the Bee!
Always delicious thank you
Great idea for restaurant week chef choice gave us some items we would not have ordered
The jam was a little tart and not what was expected.
Best hummus I’ve ever had. And, the whipped feta was amazing. Loved it!
Food and service were very good. Had little hiccup with one of our meals. Manager quickly corrected and told us he’d take a little something off bill but did not. Little disappointing. Will give it a try again in the future
A great choice for a lunch date with my daughter. Initial impression was iffy when front entrance door wasn't unlocked and hostess had zero personality when seating us but our server, the food taste and quality were spectacular! Saw several items on the menu that we will go back for.
Great service and food. First time dinning there and will definitely come back. Fun cool place!
This place was recommended while we were on vacation. Appetizers were burnt, wine seemed sour. Entrees were good however.
The only menu that was available was happy hour.
The rest of the menu looked great.
Make a point of eating at Butcher and Bee every time we are in Charleston. Especially love the whipped feta and haloumi cheese salad.
What can I say? It was fabulous. Gotta have the whipped feta with honey. :) Our server was superb and our meal from start to finish was just THE BEST!!! Well done, Butcher & Bee! We will come back.
Hair In food, ribeye steak was cold and tough. Server disintereted
Everything was excellent
The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. I love their feta and honey dish as an appetizer, and the fish and chips as an entree.
Cool vibe. Great service. Limited menu but delicious food.
The lighting during dinner made it hard to read the menu.
Had lunch with a friend. It was our first time eating here. The service was very good and the ambience was nice for lunch. I had the Kale salad and was disappointed it was so plain. My friend had the Anson Mills Grain Bowl which looked delicious and my friend really liked it. I would recommend to friends with a caveat.
Quite simply, the food was outstanding. The fusion of Middle Eastern and Southern cuisine was subtle and imaginative. The Mezze dishes were especially excellent. If you want a great meal in Charleston, don’t miss this restaurant.
Very pleasant surprise, although the reviews had been very positive. Delicious food and a nice change of pace from the "shrimp and grits world of Charleston" -- although I love S&G. Servings were ample. The whipped feta starter was delicious and the lamb kabobs excellent. Relaxed, casual, great place to eat.
Nice people run the place and they were very attentive and eager to please me as I sat at the bar and ate my meal. One of the cooks, a nice shvartzuh, gave me a tasty little brisket lagniappe. I found the halibut was really fresh and delicious and I liked the Israeli nan. The desert, some kind of berry and cream mishmash, was almost too much to finish. The place isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Great server, nice variety - enjoyed very much. Portion sizes for restaurant week were a bit small.
Love the atmosphere. Appreciated their unique approach to restaurant week. Ordered Chef's selection and was not disappointed. Wonderful food. Great value.
This was the second location of Butcher & Bee that I’ve been to (I also went to the Nashville location), and in terms of quality, service, food, and ambiance, I prefer the Charleston location way more. The food is exactly the same in taste and quality but the patio out front sells the CHS location. We went out of our way to get brunch here and were definitely not disappointed. Highlights include the whipped feta and pita (which is always a MUST order) and the breakfast sandwich with added avocado and bacon.
Excellent meal!
The food was absolutely incredible!
As always I loved the food, the experience and the staff!
This place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely outstanding- everything we ordered was delicious! The whipped feta, brussel sprouts and bacon wrapped dates were our favorites. It’s such a cute place and the service was impeccable, but the food stole the show. We were too stuffed to try the desserts, but will make a trip back just to try them!
Mediterranean influenced menu and the service was outstanding. Abbreviated menu but even my picky eaters found something- and they loved everything! Hidden gem!
Great food, I love the GF options, Healthy, flavorful & filling. The bacon wrapped figs & Grouper special were fantastic.
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious. Loved that it was located outside the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Service and food were excellent!
