Burt & Max's Bar and Grille

I had salmon. It was a little overdone. I think used to much oil to cook. Next time will see you if it can be grilled & not sautéed or kind of like fried.

Fantastic food, great cocktails, I've had almost the entire menu and I keep going back. On a nice night it's great to sit outside.

the service was excellent but we all had the omlette special which was just fair
too much spinach.

Perfect for a nice dinner out lots of choices. Most accommodating. Table away from bar excellent.

We were seated promptly and our server was excellent. She was very attentive and followed through on all our requests. We also interacted with two of the managers who went out of their way to answer our questions.

We're from out of town and met some family here. Had to wait until everyone arrived before they would seat us. Service was terrible. It appeared that the waiter forgot about our drinks. Then when he finally brought them, they were warm and not mixed well. The food was very mediocre, at best. There are so many restaurants in the area - go elsewhere.

As busy as they were, we were seated at our exact reservation time! Our server was so attentive and great! The food was above par! We can't wait to go back!!!

We were a party of four. Everyone received their meal except me. I ordered a burger medium rare. Not only did it come out very late but was cooked to well done. I didn’t reorder as the other guests we were with were almost done with their meals.very disappointing.

The only issue was that the restaurant was unbearably cold. The A/C was set too cold. I spoke to others who were dining and also were uncomfortable. I live in the North East so cold doesn’t normally bother me, but this was unbearable. I did mention this to the waitress and she said she would take care of it , but that never happened. So we just ate as fast as we could. Other than that this seems like a really nice place.

New Year’s Eve

Always enjoy eating at Burt and Max. Have eaten there many times. Food is very good and wait staff have always been polite and prompt with bringing our food.

Burt and Max’s sits in the busy Delray Marketplace shopping center. Decor is modern and casual. There is a prominent bar along one side of the room. Service was friendly and efficient. The food (at least what I had — rainbow trout filet with arugula, goat cheese, cranberries, and candied pecan salad) was outstanding. Moderate noise that did not impede conversation.

Waiter was not really very attentive. I had to send my order back twice because it was done wrong. He argued with me that I never said egg whites. I only eat egg whites. And I know what I said. The other three people sitting with me at the table also heard me say it. It was overpriced and mediocre at best

Food was great, a good variety on the menu

On the menu at Burt & Max's was an item called large plates. It was a complete Misnomer When the food came there was barely enough for one person. I consider this deceptive and misleading advertising and I was very disappointed.

I struggled with the question about whether I would recommend Burt and Max's to a friend. In the past I would have said emphatically yes. I have had three or four wonderful meals there. This year, however, on Christmas night it was a disaster. I don't know if they overbooked the restaurant or just don't know how to get people to leave at an appropriate time, but we had a longstanding 6:30 pm reservation and were told that the people at our table were just finishing up and it would take a few minutes to seat us. 20 minutes later the people still were not gone and they hustled to clean up a different table to seat us. At that point we were relatively happy to get a seat. We ordered drinks and waited at least 10 minutes for them to arrive and it was only 3 glasses of wine. Water also took forever to get. When our drinks finally arrived we ordered a couple appetizers as the manager said he would comp us two appetizers for our troubles. Things went reasonably well, then we ordered our main courses and we waited and waited and waited over an hour.. When they came out two of the dishes were cold and dried out like they had been sitting in the window under the heat lamps for too long. I had ordered another wine and it took forever to arrive. It was a disaster. I believe this was due to the server who was not capable. I might go back sometime in the future due to previous good experiences, but it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended).

Jared was our server he was amazing he went out i'm his way to make this a beautiful Christmas Eve dinner.

Food was fine, however the salad dressings -and 2 were tried- was bland. our service was not up to par. She was extremely serious and did not smile. Our food came and we needed silverware settings. The order did not come out together- needed to wait for the salad dressing (the salad was the main dish). Everything else was good
