   I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Burnt Faith for the first time, and what an incredible experience it was. We went on a Sunday for their special Sunday roast — a share platter combining a mix of barbecued meats and a variety of sides — and every single bite was absolutely delicious. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had such high-quality, flavorful food. The portion size was huge — easily enough for two people — and considering the price, it was amazing value. We ended up in a very happy food coma afterward! The cocktails were another highlight. The bartender even created special, custom cocktails for me and my friend based on our preferences, and they were absolutely spot-on — unique, beautifully crafted, and delicious. The staff at Burnt Fate were genuinely lovely — welcoming, warm, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere and decor of the place only added to the experience: cozy, stylish, and very comfortable. Another standout detail was their house-made brandy, which we were offered to try when we arrived — and it was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Burnt Fate to anyone looking for a special meal and a memorable experience. I will definitely be coming back!

   As a previous regular to black cactus, this was one of the poorest experiences. Service wise, we had to wait over an hour to get our food, while getting the attention for a server to take our order took up another 20 minutes upon arrival. However all that could be forgiven with my previous experiences with the food, but I do have to say that this time that was not the case. The burn ends were cold, while the special lamb ribs were extremely tough and chewy (so much so that we had to leave the ribs barely touched). Although the brisket and pulled pork was good, it really was saddening to see one of my favorite places in the city see such a fall in quality. I do hope this was just a one off.

   You could smell the place from about 50 yards down the road and it was fantastic. When we came in, the staff were excellent and the vibe was superb and the best bit was the food which is some of the best barbecue food I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of different Barbecue food

   Certainly a quirky venue - Burnt Faith is a brandy distillery with a bar attached - but well worth seeking out! We were mainly attracted by the promise of some delicious barbecue food (Black Cactus are now in residence) and this didn’t disappoint. Every dish on our tray was delicious and the veg and sides were treated with as much thought, love and flavour as the amazing meat. The drinks, though, were just as good - all brandy-based takes on classic cocktails, as well as craft beer, cider and a decent wine selection. Staff were all lovely and keen to ensure that we were enjoying our evening. Go and visit and ensure that Burnt Faith have continued success. Top tip: check the menu before you go, Black Cactus change their food offerings daily.

   Do not rely on instagram pictures of the trays , we were told these are old . Read carefully what is included on the tray as it costs £75 . We mainly wanted to try bbq meat , which if ordered separately would probably cost less . We enquired about ‘specials’ which was a pork belly but as I assumed from insta pics this was a part of a ‘tray’ we did not order . However this ‘special’ was a ‘pairing’ with a cocktail which we ordered and wanted to try ( cocktail only ) but the pork belly arrived and was presented to us as a starter. Long story short we were held by the staff trying to force us and intimidate us to pay for the pork belly we did not order because ‘ well you ate it and did not return it back’ we were told . We did order another cocktail at the beginning which never arrived , so we received an order we did not make and one we did , did not arrive . Be careful what you order , ask questions when ordering and ask for the order to be repeated by waiter so there’s no misunderstanding as there are 2 businesses working alongside apparently ( food and drink ) Staff was nice and welcoming at the beginning but after discussing this additional change for a ‘special ‘ we did not order , they became quite aggressive in the way they spoke which made the whole experience really unpleasant and intimidating . I need to find out when we ordered a cocktail which they Recomended to pair with a ‘special ‘ is compulsory order of the food or you can order separately because that was the whole misunderstanding I think , especially if they are 2 separate businesses, why couldn’t we order cocktail separately without being changed for a pork ? That being said Food was great , especially meat , and cocktail was lovely too . Bill was resolved too in the end to our satisfaction but we won’t be coming back knowing how people can turn from nice to your face to plain nasty and leave you shaking leaving your restaurant.

   Absolutely delicious BBQ food, great quality and good sized portions. Friendly and welcoming service, would highly recommend.

   Incredible food with great cocktails. Went on the Friday (burger) night - phenomenal burger with delicious sides.

   First time at Burnt Faith. Really cool & personal touch that they serve you a free pour of their house brandy batch 1. From the off the staff were on point. Friendly, checking in & offered good advice. We ordered cocktails which are a twist on traditional cocktails but using batch 1 brandy. Beers are from local brewery signature brew. The food was outstanding. Best bbq I have had in the uk thus far. I have been so excited to try the bbq from black cactus & thanks to a cancelled trip made a day of it to BF x BC. Go for the platter. Was the perfect portion for a hungry couple. Honestly, great vibes with AMAZING food & brandy. Thanks & see you for burgers next week. FYI book - people were turned away. X
