Buona Forchetta started in 2011 as a craving of Matteo’s to bring some of his native Italy to our adopted home of South Park. We found the perfect corner and built the perfect oven. Since then, we’ve strived to deliver an exceptional and authentic Italian experience to our customers keeping our focus on the simple recipes that Matteo grew up on. We owe a huge “grazie” to our neighbors who have joined us on this awesome journey, and we hope that you will continue to be part of our story.

It’s loved by the area’s families for kid-friendly touches: Pasta dishes can be ordered in smaller portions, and the restaurant’s Liberty Station location has two play areas, plus a vintage red Fiat converted into a dining table.

So much flavor!! Our waiter “Guacimo” was friendly and helpful and cute as can be. Straight from Florence showing us pictures of his wife and precious twins! The gluten-free and vegan options make this restaurant a favorite for those with dietary restrictions without sacrificing flavor and texture. Great pasta, awesome authentic Italian!!

We were seated outside and were greeted by a local at the next table who said the food was wonderful - and she was right. The focaccia is homemade in a wood fired oven as are the pizzas. We finished with fried dough topped with fruit and Nutella. Best meal we have had in San Diego. Waiter Phillipo was wonderful too. Look no further for great Italian food.

We went to the South Park location so parking was a bit of a challenge but we all found parking within a couple of blocks from the restaurant. We sat outside which was enclosed so we weren’t out in the elements. I ordered eggplant Parmesan. It was perfectly cheesy and saucy! But I also wanted pizza. Next time…everyone at the table really enjoyed their food. I’ll definitely eat here (or one of their other locations) again!

Pasta came with the wrong sauce. Server never checked in on us.

The food was outstanding (as always) and the service was prompt and attentive. I had what may have been the most delicious pesto pasta I've ever tasted, and all the dishes were terrific. The artichokes antipasti were also a huge hit. Friends were visiting from out of town and absolutely loved it. Great job!
