We had a great time with our family and enjoyed the spicy shrimp and lasagna the most. We planned to order more lasagna because it went so quick and wanted to bring some home but were approached by a female who informed us that they had another party arriving in 10 minutes. We felt extremely unwelcome at that time and left.

Surprised that the restaurant was really slow and empty. Food is good, but not great. Finding that the fancier Competitor Maggiano is better value. Lucky for Buca, they aren’t yet in San Diego. Mentioned it was my birthday, and no enthusiasm from hosts nor server, so I skipped dessert . No sense in celebrating with non emotional staff.

Went here for Mother’s Day dinner. The place is clean and quiet. The host staff was friendly enough. The waiter was very slow. Took a long time to get things. The food was pretty good. None of it was piping hot. The flavors were good. The chicken Marsala is very good. But my son found hair in his food. After an awkward encounter with the manager they took care of that cost. I heard the downtown location is better. Overall I would go again but I now know what to expect.

We hate to say this because we go to Buca locations from Honolulu to LA regularly. Well we used to... The waiter was really bad and never checked in or refilled beverages on an expensive meal and didn’t provide to go boxes when asked or help and the restaurant was practically empty so it’s not as if he was too busy. Food quality was very poor at this location too on top of the service. Again, the waiter was extremely unfriendly, unprofessional and honestly shouldn’t be in a service position. Definitely never taking anyone here for their birthday again. His horrible attitude and lack of care on top of the subpar food will guarantee we never go back.

Both food and service were great. But please make sure you don't over order. We ordered a large trio appetizer, and two large entries/pasta for a party of seven. We had tons of food left and no room for dessert at all. The good news is, the pasta still tasted pretty good after being microwaved the next day.

Have been to the one in Las Vegas twice, and the food and service was excellent, so decided to take my family to the one in Mira Mesa, will never go back to this one, service was horrible and the food came out cool to warm not hot, waited for drinks for ever got our appetizers before we had enough silverware and plates for everyone, I will never go to this location again.

We were seated quickly however, the food took too long to come out we saw someone that was there after us get their drinks first. The staff seemed to be all over the place. I understand as Valentine’s Day seemed to get it very busy but I feel like everyone on staff should’ve been prepared for the day. Food was alright. The best thing about this place was all the history on the walls! I wasn’t offered a refill on my water or napkins. For the price payed I expected better service. Thank you for the experience

We went on Valentine’s Day for dinner. Had the lasagna for two. For $60 this is a phenomenal deal/value quality. Lasagna was huge, huge tray of garlic bread and a huge Caesar salad followed by some cannolis for dessert. What a bargain! Service was great drinks were great and not expensive. Food was delicious!

Overall, our birthday celebration was a success. My son turned 21 2 weeks ago but could not celebrate then so we had our joint birthday last night. There were 10 people in our party and our server Erin was very nice, cheerful and very detailed but due to the growing crowd of patrons, she got delayed and took some time to bring what we needed. Staffing should be covered with another person when the crowd starts coming in. The fried calamari and mozzarella squares were crisp just right. Chicken Carbonara was the best choice for entree, coming in 2nd was the classic lasagna (liked their layer of cheeses) and then the pizza formogiono with sliced Italian sausage, The large size fit for more than 5 people even if it indicated in the menu. The spaghetti and meatballs were just okay. I was just after the big meatballs Their birthday dessert is ice cream with sprinkles (I was hoping for their dark chocolate cake but it was extra. I ordered the collossal brownie sundae for dessert for the whole party which worked fine. I would order the carbonara again may be in another 2 months too much carbs last night LOL! Oh, their bread was very good too with the real butter they provided.

Super disappointed...expensive to have dinner, due to family style menu, service was lacking, but I'm sure that's pandemic related and restaurant was dirty and table not cleared right away. We sat between two tables that were empty and not bused for 45-70 minutes.

I would like to have better news, however, it was awful. From start to finish an absolute nightmare. They are the epitome of ‘SKIMPFLATION’! We waited 15 minutes to order, no silverware, plates or glasses available for 30 minutes. We ordered a bottle of wine and it wasn’t served until we were have way thru our meal. Then the bartender brought over the wine not even our server. The food portions were very small. The sausages were over cooked and dry. The tiramisu was dry without espresso. The list goes on and on.

We went here for a family member's birthday. The other two people in the party like Buca more than I. For me, I don't like the small or large ordering format. We picked two entrees (neither of which would be my first choice) and it's pricey for what you get. So not a big fan, but the evening was not about me.
