The room was so hot. People had to keep stepping outside to cool off. It was July in Texas and it was cooler outside!! Food was great though.

It would have been 5 stars but they wouldn’t turn on the air conditioning. We had a large group in the back room and it was sweltering. We were also promised the Pope table for the teenagers, but that didn’t happen.

Buca’s is my husband’s favorite place to go for his birthday and Father’s Day. The quality of the food and service have gone down hill over the past couple of years. He always wants the spaghetti and meatballs. We went on 1/2 price meatball Monday and they literally were out of meatballs by 6:30pm?!? They’ve changed their marinara sauce and it literally was just runny sauce with tons of chopped tomatoes. There was no actual sauce to it. The cheesy garlic bread, which you pay extra for, barely had any cheese. It’s just not the same place or quality that it used to be.

I took my kids here bc they indulge me in my 90s chain restaurants nostalgia. When we sat down at Buca di Beppo, our bench seating was wet and smelled like a cafeteria. There was no one else in the restaurant so we moved tables, to one with chairs. The room they put us in was “humid”, so there was dew all over the table, menus, seats - everything - and it smelled like mildew. We obnoxiously changed tables one more time and just committed to be sticky-stuck to those. The place is so rundown and they spray everything with nose-burning disinfectant. Everyone working there was kind, the food was good. But dining with two younger kids…it was an expensive meal with SO many leftovers we didn’t really want. Could’ve gone anywhere for the price. It felt like a jersey Italian home, but like, someone’s grandpa built a faux Buca in a basement and forgot to turn the music on, and you had to find your way out like an escape room. An experience for sure!

Made reservations and was seated fairly quickly, but out in a small room with another party of 17 (there were 4 adults with us) . Waiter didn’t come for 20 minutes and when he came to offer water another 15 minutes went by without service. We got up to ask a manager if we can move rooms and waiters. Next waiter was good and efficient. Other room was significantly less noisy. Had we not complained it would have been 1 star, new waiter redeemed the experience but still left feeling like it wasn’t a positive experience.

We visited for Mother's Day. The food was good, and it is all done family style. Our server could had done better job explaining the portion sizes because you have choice of small or large. We would visit again when in Austin.

We like the vibe and our waiter is very friendly and fun. Food is extremely big portion as they claimed to be family styled, which creates some problem when your party is small. Food tastes better than most chain Italian food. We will come back when we are hungry.
