   We made a reservation. Arrived at the proper time, and there was a sign that read "please seat yourself" and every table was full. After a few minutes of standing there wondering what was going on, someone finally approached us and had absolutely no idea of a possible wait time, if there were actually tables available... we walked out.

   My family and I went there to have BBQ, it was okay a bit loud. The servers were nice, The drinks were good but the food was borderline... the Mac & cheese noodle was hard and under cooked for my one year to eat. I ordered the brisket tacos which was burnt not tender or flavorful. (I’ve had bbq from Tennessee and shouldn’t compare but we were expecting much more) the baked beans were good and my husband did enjoy the shrimp tacos. A lot! We talked about giving it another try, maybe going without the kiddos in hopes for a better outcome the second time around. 🤞🤞🤞

   Other than finding someone initially to seat us the experience was very positive. It was our second time eating there and the food is very good. Our friends enjoyed it as well. Great casual fun place for BBQ and drinks in New Haven.

   The appetizers were quite good but the main courses were not. Somewhat disappointing since I've been to other Brother Jimmy's and the food has been quite good. The wait staff was very pleasant but slow and a bit scarce.

   How does a restaurant run out of validation vouchers? Food was par at best. I won't be back

   The parking people told us that if Brother Jimmy’s stamped our ticket, we didn’t have to pay. Our waitress said the manager was nowhere to be found. Upon getting our car, the attendant said they don't Need the manager, they all know to just give you a pink slip. The hamburger was ok, but the fries were horrible and my coke was watered down. Would never go back.

   We went to celebrate a birthday and the wait staff service and performance was terrible it took over 40 minutes to receive our food after placing the order. We mistakenly ordered dessert thinking that they got the hint we were upset with the poor service. The waitress never came back to clear our plates and surprise, the dessert was late. We finally settled up after waiting for the dessert that finally arrived as we prepared to leave the restaurant. I’ll never go back.

   I’m not sure if we came on an off night, but I can’t understand why people think this food is any better than mediocre. Pulled pork was too wet and kind of slimy. Brisket was 50% fat. Won’t be back.

    Great BBQ in downtown New Haven! I have been to the NYC Brother Jimmies and the food here is just as good. It's worth the trip with easy access and convenient parking across the street. I will be back.
