Such a nice restaurant. It was perfect for my husband & I on a nice date night while we were in OBX . Our service was fantastic, and the food was delicious ! We will definitely be back on our next trip!

The service and staff were excellent. The food was well prepared and absolutely delicious. Our server was attentive friendly and she made sure our water was filled continuously. A 10++++ experience.

Except for the over-worked bartender who was doing her best, this place was otherwise poor and forgettable. You’ll pay a premium price for OK food and crappy service from a staff that would prefer to be anywhere else.

Excellent food and exemplary service. So good we went back the next morning for breakfast, which was also very good!

We've been coming here a few times a year since they opened in another location and before that location was even renovated. The food speaks for itself, but the service is top notch too.

The Broken Plate far exceeded our expectations for a restaurant above an arcade in a shopping center. It had loud and lively music blaring outside to lure you in. The hostess was very friendly and seated us promptly even though we were 15 minutes early for our reservation. We had a cute table for 2 with this adorable tiny table lamp and a silk rose in a small vase. Water was served immediately in glasses and a carafe of water for our table, very much needed in this June heat wave. The chairs were these comfortable retro shape and bright white. From the back, they remind me of the mouth of a tiger shark! Our server, Kevin, was congenial and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered a rum punch, which was served with a pineapple, orange slice, and marichino Cherry garnish. Delicious! My husband ordered lemonade, which was served pink. I had the snapper, served with this sauce that was made from sweet corn. The fish had a delicious flavor and was flaky and moist. Hubby had the mahi mahi, also flavorful, and he even ate the couscous. We were too full for dessert, and I took home a good portion of the huge fish. Lunch tomorrow will be good!

Trying to be a nice restaurant over a arcade with pricing higher than that of 5 star restaurants. The wait staff tried to be attentive but screaming everything she said wasn’t cool- no one was hearing impaired and she’s what gave it a noise level of 4. We won’t be back again- too much food went to waste that no one liked.

Think the chef was off or gone as the food was not good at all. The jerk salmon was not prepared as requested and did not taste fresh. The two scallops and three shrimp in my Caribbean dish was prepackaged frozen had no taste even with the pineapple salsa and the 4 red beans in a pile of overcooked rice dumped on the plate was disgusting. Our server was great and the Chalet cake delicious. Unfortunately we will never go back
