Please do not go here nor come here until they have cleaned up their food/chef /cooking food /producing EDIBLE food situation. Terrible experience for what was supposed to be a memorable occasion. ZERO excuses for running a restaurant in this way, absolutely shameful!!! A good-nvr mind a 'great' restaurant should NOT go downhill 99% after the main chef goes home!! Hire a new chef if you have $$$ to open new restaurants as I've read lately then you have $$$ to hire a great chef for broken plate!!!! Who runs a restaurant like this ?! And how do so many diners put up with it ? You are VERY lucky I wasn't Gordon Ramsey that day! That last day I darkened your door for that will never EVER happen again. THERES NO EXCUSES FOR OUR EXPERIENCE, ZERO !

Excellent prompt service, with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is always delicious. Cheese saganaki is always a great appetizer. I would recommend the Broken Plate for great Greek cuisine and dining experience!

Let me start by saying that the service was 'very good', from the hostess to the servers. They were very attendant to our needs. However, the same could not be said of the food. The Greek Salad was good, but not exceptional, and the rest of the food from Spanakopita to Dolmades was bland, and looked and tasted like it came out of a box. There are better Greek restaurants in the City of Calgary, ones that actually serve authentic Greek food. As for the restaurant, it was noisy and the tables are too close together.

This restaurant is one of my favorites in Calgary, so I invited my friends from out of town to join me. The restaurant was bustling, but the service was as usual—wonderful. However, the food was a letdown. My favorite lamb shank was tough and chewy, which was unusual for it. My husband’s daily special braised beef and short rib were equally disappointing—dry and disappointing. My friend’s lamb chop was overcooked, and we ordered a Greek salad that was 80% tomatoes and six olives, with only a few cucumbers. It was a disappointment.

First off, thank you so much for being a longtime supporter — it truly means a lot to us. We're honoured you chose to bring your out-of-town friends to Broken Plate. That kind of trust is something we really value. We’re sorry to hear the food didn’t live up to your expectations this time. That’s never what we want for our guests, especially when you’re sharing some of your favourites. The lamb shank, short rib, and lamb chop are usually guest favourites, so it’s disappointing to hear they weren’t prepared the way they should be. And the Greek salad should absolutely have better balance — we’ll be reviewing that with the team. We’re happy to hear the service stood out, and we really appreciate your honest feedback. We hope you’ll give us another chance soon.
