The Broadway Oyster Bar is a locally owned and operated establishment and has been for over 35 years. The Oyster Bar is widely regarded as the premier New Orleans' style restaurant, bar and music venue in the Midwest. BOB, as it is affectionately known by its many fans and friends, is housed in a building that was built in the mid 1840's and is one of the oldest buildings still in daily use within the city of St. Louis. During its colorful history, our building has had many functions including a family home, a boarding house, a Chinese laundry, a record store and a bordello to name a few. These walls have heard and seen it all. Some people feel that the building is haunted by spirits who, occasionally late at night, play good hearted jokes on the staff such as doors suddenly opening or closing or lights going on or off as if by magic. Then again, it just could be because the building is over 170 years old. However, our historic building has just gone through a renovation so we now have two outdoor patios that are covered and heated during cold or rainy weather and an expanded kitchen to better serve you. Our food has won numerous awards and readers' polls for excellence and features some of the most sustainable seafood available such as fresh Gulf and Blue Point oysters, Louisiana crawfish and shrimp, Prince Edward Island mussels, scallops and crabs. Our Cajun and Creole dishes are our versions of many of the traditional Louisiana favorites. If you love New Orleans, you will feel right at home at BOB. BOB offers live music twice a day every night of the week except on Friday when we feature one act for the evening. We present the best local and national touring acts representing a variety of musical genres such as rock, reggae, bluegrass, blues, funk, R&B, roots, and jam, and weshowcase a wide variety of bands visiting from New Orleans. The live music is free up to 8 times per a week. However, for some of the more popular and well known acts, we do charge a cover which typically goes to the bands in order to keep attracting them to the BOB. Broadway Oyster Bar has been referred to by many as a staple of St. Louis and was recently honored by the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Restaurant Association as the 2015 Restaurant of the Year. BOB is a great choice for a relaxing dinner, a celebratory party or an opportunity to dance to a great band. As well known food writer, the late Joe Pollack, once wrote, "There is, quite simply, nothing in St. Louis quite like the Broadway Oyster Bar".     Dinner was delicious. In addition they were quick. We had one hour to eat before heading to the Stifel theater. The shrimp and grit cake was very, very good!

    Okay, my wife and I are at this location about 3 years ago and had a great time. This trip I made reservations and inquired again at the door what kind of band was playing. The girl at the door said it was a great band. I specifically asked did they play blue's or soal. She responded they play all music. Well let's just say they didn't. We left after 3 songs. Very disappointed, the food wasn't good enough to ever return again.

    The Broadway oyster bar was excellent. The look and feel was great. Historic but comfortable. Best peel and eat in town and the grilled oysters didn’t disappoint either. Atmosphere was perfect for out of town folks like us. Relaxed. These guys know seafood. We will be back!

    We had the fish tacos and linguine with shrimp. Both were fantastic. Crab cake appetizer is also highly recommended. We took with us the bread pudding with whiskey sauce. The best bread pudding I have ever had.

    It’s understandable why this place has been here so long!!! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS FOOD!! Crab cakes atop a fried tomatoes and bacon wrapped crab-stuffed prawns. WOW!!!

    We stopped for lunch here on way back home to TN. The Alligator Cheesecake was outstanding and a must. Also highly recommend trying the oysters mixed. All were delicious and could not choose a favorite. Other items we tried were clam chowder, red beans and rice and a Bloody Mary. Everything was a 10/10. Very cool place with great ambience. Will definitely come again when in St. Louis.

    Very Very good. Parking was FREE ( as long as you spent 70 inside ) . Nice gated lot . Was there on a Saturday night and lot had attendant. Had the Oysters Nola And crayfish enchiladas. Excellent .also had the bread pudding dessert .

    I have eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed! The food is fantastic. The environment is amazing. And the service is always pleasant. We stopped in before the Blues game and our waitress just happened to overhear us talking about parking for the game. She jumped into help guide us to our best options since it was a busy weekend in STL. I recommend Broadway anytime you are looking for Cajun cooking and a kickass experience. Just leave the attitude at home!

    No real gluten free options and staff had not been very well trained on allergens. Having said that, they are really good at what they do, and the oysters are always fresh and delicious.

    Fantastic food! We love chargrilled oysters and no one has them outside of NOLA - except here! The live music was a plus and the early artist was a chill acoustic guitar so not impossible to carry on a conversation. Very casual. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants of all time!

    First time there. The food was amazing. I had the VooDoo shrimp po’boy with a cup of the jambalaya. My boyfriend had the blackened shrimp quesadilla and a half dozen of the oyster medley. We also had the voodoo punch which was good. I recommend going. It was also a nice evening to sit on the patio.

    I don't even know how to put into words how wonderful our visit to Broadway Oyster Bar was! The food was phenomenal, there wasn't a single thing we tried that we didn't LOVE ((and we tried A LOT)) Broadway Oyster Bar definitely made our 5th wedding anniversary special for my husband and I, and really blew our friends away! Our server, Carley (sp?) was the absolute best server, so sweet, timely, and you can tell she really connects with her customers. 10/10 we will definitely be willing to make the 2 hour drive just to eat here again! Best anniversary ever!
