The Broadway Oyster Bar is a locally owned and operated establishment and has been for over 35 years. The Oyster Bar is widely regarded as the premier New Orleans' style restaurant, bar and music venue in the Midwest. BOB, as it is affectionately known by its many fans and friends, is housed in a building that was built in the mid 1840's and is one of the oldest buildings still in daily use within the city of St. Louis. During its colorful history, our building has had many functions including a family home, a boarding house, a Chinese laundry, a record store and a bordello to name a few. These walls have heard and seen it all. Some people feel that the building is haunted by spirits who, occasionally late at night, play good hearted jokes on the staff such as doors suddenly opening or closing or lights going on or off as if by magic. Then again, it just could be because the building is over 170 years old. However, our historic building has just gone through a renovation so we now have two outdoor patios that are covered and heated during cold or rainy weather and an expanded kitchen to better serve you. Our food has won numerous awards and readers' polls for excellence and features some of the most sustainable seafood available such as fresh Gulf and Blue Point oysters, Louisiana crawfish and shrimp, Prince Edward Island mussels, scallops and crabs. Our Cajun and Creole dishes are our versions of many of the traditional Louisiana favorites. If you love New Orleans, you will feel right at home at BOB. BOB offers live music twice a day every night of the week except on Friday when we feature one act for the evening. We present the best local and national touring acts representing a variety of musical genres such as rock, reggae, bluegrass, blues, funk, R&B, roots, and jam, and weshowcase a wide variety of bands visiting from New Orleans. The live music is free up to 8 times per a week. However, for some of the more popular and well known acts, we do charge a cover which typically goes to the bands in order to keep attracting them to the BOB. Broadway Oyster Bar has been referred to by many as a staple of St. Louis and was recently honored by the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Restaurant Association as the 2015 Restaurant of the Year. BOB is a great choice for a relaxing dinner, a celebratory party or an opportunity to dance to a great band. As well known food writer, the late Joe Pollack, once wrote, "There is, quite simply, nothing in St. Louis quite like the Broadway Oyster Bar". That line was written over 30 years ago, but it is as true today as it was then. Welcome to the Broadway Oyster Bar Family.

I’m in a wheelchair and I always sit on like in front of the stage and that one the first table that has two seats and a bench and I said move my wheelchair in one of the chairs. The only problem I had last night we come there often is for some reason the bricks out front as you re-entered from using the ladies room the main Broadway strip bar they were in terrible shape and my wheelchair totally flipped over on its side. I was slightly injured but nothing to talk about or worry about. I’m not concerned. I’m just worried about other people like tripping with a high heel or something like that or if they can throw a whole wheelchair over that weighs 30 pounds with 139 year-old woman on her side Into the bar no yeah I’m not. I’m sorry I’m 139 pounds 30 pound wheelchair and they help me out and everybody was everything was fine. The concert was wonderful and we do like to go there a lot. We follow Laka and a lot of the other St. Louis bands But I know one bar in St. Louis downtown. They bought a metal ramp from. It’s just portable folding from Amazon for like $120 and they lay it over that spot where their ground is really bad and then if they want to take it up, they do if they don’t they live down people walk on it. That’s just one thought, but we don’t wanna sit inside ever because we like the music and if we sit on the other side, I can’t really see the music because I’m 72.

We had a great time last night. From the time we entered the building everyone from the host, the person who seated us, the waiters, were all good. Laka Soul and her band were the best. The food and drinks were all good and everyone who cleared the tables throughout the night and asked if we needed to go boxes were also amazing. This was my first visit to this location but won’t be the last.

Went for a mother’s day dinner with family. Everyone ordered something different. The boiled crawfish were overcooked, and did not come with corn, potatoes, or anything other than crawfish. The fried oysters were just ok. The oysters bienville were delicious. The shrimp and wild mushroom pasta was good. Overall, it felt like the food quality had gone down from years past. Probably won’t be returning for dinner. A pre-dinner happy hour might be ok.

My dad raved about the food the morning after we ate here. The food, service and ambiance were frigging great. In town to see the cardinals play so I googled local restaurants and this caught my eye. So glad we went here and if we are ever back in St. Louis we will definitely go back

This was our second time to eat here while in St. Louis for a Cardinals game and it was great. Celebrating my birthday on Saturday and the atmosphere, food and service was awesome. The bread pudding for dessert was great! We will go back!

My coworkers and I ate here while in town for a conference, and had the best time! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the great weather. The live bands that performed were fantastic, and the sound level still allowed us to have a conversation over dinner and drinks without having to yell. Capp came over and visited with us during a break in his band's set--a total bonus. Finally, a shout-out to the best server ever, Hannah, a total pro who got all of my (annoying) modifications right without writing anything down. If you are thinking about going to the Broadway Oyster Bar, stop thinking and just go. Ask for Hannah and say hi to Capp!

Very loud and crowded. Waitress wasn't very attentive or polite. They were out of the oysters we wanted.
